Can the 650 or 1050 load while sitting?

in the market for a new press.  been loading on a lee loadmaster for years.  one thing i like about my LM was that i could load while sitting.  i prefer to do it this way as i can't stand long period without back pain.

 

All the vids i see people loading on dilion presses they are standing.  So can the 650 or 1050 be used while seated?

I have my 650 mounted on a standard height desk(old military metal top). All of my reloading is done sitting on an adjustable height rolling mechanics stool at full height and have no issues. 6ft tall with long arms but I image it wouldn’t be too bad for other sized people.

Ii have both presses and you can load sitting. I find it very slow and ponderous sitting. I added strong mounts and stand. I'm 6'5" . Sitting or standing you'll be loading on a Dillon. If you can afford the 1050 having eveything happen on the downstroke is an advantage.

I load while sitting with my 650. No strong mount, of course. It's very fast and comfortable doing it that way.

I too have both of those presses mounted on an old metal desk. Have been reloading on them for 20 years sitting in my chair, it is quite comfortable

I load both ways on my 650’s. They are on strong mounts. I use an adjustable chair when sitting just adjust up to where it feels right.

I load sitting on all my presses due to back issues. 650/550/single stage/shotgun presss.  I have an adjustable stool to I can adjust due to my presses being at different heights.

I have mine set up so I can stand or sit on a bar stool.  I like this setup because I can get tired of sitting or standing while doing a longer reloading session.

I sit on a barstool for both presses. I’ve bolted an adapter plate permanently to

my bench that accepts the 650 or 1050 with just 4 bolts. Have tried standing 

on occasion but never liked it.

I have my 650 mounted directly to a 42" high bench without a strong mount. I use a short bar stool and comfortably reload sitting.

I load sitting on a 550 and 1050. I have back problems and never damage in my feet that keeps me from standing very long. Both press’s are mounted straight on the benches.

I sit while loading, I have the press bolted directly to the bench top and found the correct height stool and have zero issues. My last reloading session was 5k rounds over few days and had no back issues, no way I would have been able to stand the entire time if I had to.

What bench height is the best for sitting down and loading. I too have a torn up back. I have a new 550 ready to go.

I've got mine set up so that a 24" stool would work great.  Then I had some physical problems and now sit in my wheelchair and can still operate the press.  My bench is 38 inches high.

Sitting for my 1050, been doing it for years, with  an adjustable stool.

I can load on my 1050 standing or sitting.

 

My bench is 32" high and use a 28" bar stool.  When sitting, I rest my butt cheeks on the edge of the stool.

The way bench is set up I can sit or stand, also can raise my legs while sitting to take pressure off my lower back.

My RL-1050 is mounted on a purpose built 32-1/2" high bench that I made.  I sit on a 29" high stool (Home Depot) and it works great for me (I'm 5'-11" tall).  I'm up high enough to see down into each case to verify powder, and pulling the handle seems very ergonomic.  I have a 550b on a strong mount on the other end of the same bench.  Coincidentally, both roller handles are at the same height so I use the same stool for loading on either.  Both are mounted a few inches too low to run them standing.

I load sitting. The correct height is important. You want it so that your shoulder is about level with the top of the handle.

this  is very close to the reason i set to load with seme presses. except  i can load with the 1050 standing for a short time using the handel in the short stroke position.

Bench is set at kitchen counter height. office chair for 550 and bar stool for 1050.
