  1. slap a dot on a limited major gun, load some 40 minor and you have a LO gun. that is what i am going to do for next season
  2. i am not going to renew. i have no interest anymore shooting level 2 and above so don't need to be a member. i also don't care anymore what i am classified at. lifetime memberships are like lifetime warrantees. Usually its only good till they go belly up
  3. 9mm brass is all over the place depending on maker. some seat deeper than others . as long as its seated as deep as it will go, and its at least flush , its should go bang
  4. i have one gun that is close to 30k rounds through it . how an i tell when a gun is worn out?
  5. lee dies are known to size lower than dillion dies. that said, if those reloads ,besides not working in your gauge work in your gun, i would not worry about it. if you are really concerned relegate them to practice round. those gauges are many times cut for the min specs of 9mm. most guns chambers are not as tight .another question is why are you loading them so short. that profile should run at 1.15 easily
  6. what sizing die are you using? looking at the pix of the round it looks like its not sizing all the way down. my opinion on the FCD is its fine for FMJ , but not so much for coated . i replaced mine with a lee taper crimp die and all types of bullets have no issue. Also, those rounds that do not case gauge , will they drop in and out of the chamber of the gun you intend to use them ? if they do, jsut shoot them
  7. This is how i intend to get into LO with my 40 edge. low investment and will reload 40 minor
  8. always post tumble my ammo to get the lube off. thousands of rounds done with no issues . i bet even ammo makers tumble their loaded ammo .
  9. 2018 SFX . the trigger pin is moving out by itself when shooting. i know its retained by the slide stop like a glock . i have tried to solve it but can't figure out why its moving . any hints?
  10. this is one of the odd things i read about 1911 style slides. people say they can not be repaired. before the advent of commercial slides, lots of gun smiths would cut apart slides and weld them back to get what they wanted. they did not seem to have issues . lots of thing in the world are welded and if done correctly last a long time
  11. the original RS comp must have been faster than the later batches. on the powder speed chart they list it faster than red dot and i can tell you for sure in my testing its not even close. it closer to sport pistol and n320. n320 must have changed through out the years as it seems to have slowed down also in my testing .
  12. 2.7 grains? that load is barely hitting 775 fps i would bet. RS comp published loads by the factory are very very conservative.
  13. i have used both. the positive with RC comp is that its usually available, is light in color and fill the 9mm case well with normal loads. this helps prevent double charges . sport pistol postive is that the velocity was consistant and flowed through a measure like water . negative to me was the dark color and the fill. its not as bad as TG, but its possible to double charge a 9mm case . Also, its hard to find .
  14. the only reason i would like LO/MA is that i can put back to use the 2 limited guns i have for a small price. no need to rebarrel them to 9mm. just get them milled and a red dot. if its LO/Minor i will just continue to shoot CO. i don't think LO/M will be as popular as many people think. investing $2-3k for a new gun when a $6-800 will do in CO with the same scoring .
  15. i have reused bullets like that in the past for blasting ammo not expecting much accuracy. as long as the case has been resized i had no issue with set back. the cases,if you plan on resuing them with the present unfired primer in them , needs to be resized without a decap rod in it. i pick up a lot of 9mm ammo off the ground, break them down and reuse them .
  16. 30 cents a round after shipping and tax is what i see factory ammo averaging. 10 cents for primer ,7 for bullet and 4 for powder is what it would cost me to reload .so is it worth it to reload? i still think so as long as you have a supply of brass. if have to buy brass then i would say no. We are pretty much at the end of our season where i am. i have around 5k end of the world ammo that i don't want to dip into for shooting sports . i have around 1k left for that . if in 4 months when the new season starts, i will have to decide if i am going to shoot the new season. it just an odd thing that even though ammo is going down, primers are not .
  17. it dropped right in the sweet spot where the rails are thin. i have seen it before. i would pay the $200 and a lesson learned. or get an aftermarket slide that can take a optic.
  18. depending on the water you may need more lemi shine. i fill mine up 3/4 full with brass and put about 2 oz of lemis shine and 2 oz of dawn and steel pins and they come out shiny. i run it for the full 3 hours. brass dulls when exposed to air so it losing it luster would seem normal. i keep mine in a 5 gallon airtight bucket and close it tightly . i also dry mine with a food dihydrator seems odd the primer pockets are not getting clean. how long are you running it?
  19. this one . was able to take off some mp shield sights also which are known to be tight also https://www.ebay.com/itm/162774304090?hash=item25e61ac55a:g:vSQAAOSwNSxU5SEu&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAA4Hfw6Oz5%2BxYhYe9sMlcDkVwfnbUtTTPcvlZWjDIwTd1ZljUM08tKUhyzvUdXU8dEcOXtaakwzOvC6RdTzuWnu3DuJpFNNvgwmPXvpHa%2Bgab%2BXQrTsbEPfl9zqfwHn3b%2BWt%2BQJVUqcit9y4kbhPxW2CJpcf6XhWUo8mUDEyoEEpReg3rXvR4fYL9QcfA6G0ua76pRAv1LdPyNWNXkasITUHYUzWS2SeK%2F19aAkt8XzkWV0t1j4zRYqQ7vEm%2FhUYF9yrLzNVM2ZiEdUa4ON7clXcJsxoo9ot48YqzWArVNjUTb|tkp%3ABk9SR9KB2ZHrYA
  20. i was able to do both the front and rear on my canik sfx with a sight pusher .which sight pusher are you using
  21. i am almost at the end of an 8# jug of red dot . i loaded a lot of 9mm from 124/135/147 coated and FMJ . i like that its a fluffy powder that is almost impossible to double charge in 9mm. only dislike is that it meters with a lot more variation than a ball powder. but even with the weight variation the velocity is pretty consistant if i can find another bottle i will grab it.
  22. i asked a couple of simple question about the area as I have never been to Ohio. You could have ignored it , but you decide to reply with your remark. yeah i could look it up on the net, but i find asking folks that live in the area a better way to find out how the place is. Do you represent the range that is hosting it?
  23. i have loaded over 100k rounds of 9mm with fast powders. i am almost out of my regular 9mm power. i have 8# of autocomp left from loading 9mm major. according to many sources it can be used for 9mm minor in the 135pf range i am looking for. so when using a slow powder vs a fast powder, will the recoil be different? will i have to load it high than usual to get good performance out of it in 9mm?
