9x45
Yea, I was just going to post also after getting the notice on Facebook from Todd Jarrett. He was not only a great shooter, but a great guy with a wonderful sense of range humor, and the best president we ever had. Squaded with him many times over the decades. We used to call him "El Prez" God Speed, it's all alphas now buddy, and no waiting at any stage at any match. Our thoughts and prayers are with Maggie. He did not let it be known that he was suffering.

dillon
Mike gave far more back to the action shooting sports than he ever took from it. He was an excellent ambassador for our sports. He always took time to talk to shooters, new and old. He will be deeply missed. Our sincere condolences to his wife Maggie Reese, and his multitude of friends. ima45dv8
Any of you who recall the "combined" rulebook remember what a pain in the butt it could be to use. Based on the IPSC version of rules, it had the so-called 'exceptions' for USPSA noted. It could get quite confusing especially for people new to our pastime. Michael worked hard, and fought hard to get our own version of the rulebook. Discussions with the IPSC governing body got quite contentious at times, and IIRC, eventually included threats to kick us out of the organization. To paraphrase, Michael said, go ahead. We're almost as large (or as large as) the rest of the regions combined. We'll just start our own, new confederation. He didn't blink. . .they did. Thanks, Michael. You did some great work for us. All Alphas from now on...
benos
What terribly sad news. He was a dear friend. Mike was one of those guys - it was always great just being in his company. I can't ever remember seeing him in a bad mood. I remember Mike with his first Jack Russel Terrier. We'd be at a match hotel that didn't allow pets. Mike would smuggle him in the room in his backpack, then when the dog had to do his business, Mike would smuggle him out in the backpack, walk out into the grass, put the pack on the ground and open it - the dog would run out and do his business then run right back into to the pack. It was hilarious. Mike will be deeply missed by everyone that knew him.
