  1. There is a half-moon shaped steel stop mounted behind the rear of the primer slide. Make sure the falt on this is oriented either upward, or to the right. This is the physical rearward stop for the rearward travel of the primer slide. Unless your primer slides have been recently replaced, the back of the primer slide will have a steel roll pin with a rubber sleeve over it. The rubber sleeve is a piece of 1/8" automotive vacuum hose. If this sleeve is damaged or absent, visit your local auto parts house and buy a foot-long piece, a lifetime supply. The newer design replaced this roll pin and sleeve with a brass roller and screw. (it is not possible to modify older slides to use this). Product Videos | Super 1050 (dillonprecision.com)
  2. Clean the interior of the dies using an ammonia based bore solvent and a scotchbrite abraisive pad. It sounds like there is brass buildup in the dies.
  3. What cartridge are you loading? Are you lubing cases?
  4. Dip the brass end in soapy water, then let it air dry. This will remove the static.
  5. Then the next time the case feed bowl is empty, lift out the case feed plate and lay a carpenters square across the bowl. The bottom of the bowl should be flat within +/- 1/8" . Be sure your loader is mounted to a stable surface. Plywood tops flex a bunch, and the case feed post sways as you sycle the handle. It might be necessary to attach the case feed bowl to the nearest wall to reduce swaying as the handle is cycled.
  6. Use a micrometer to measure the outside diameter on a sticky primer. Then rotate the primer 90 degrees and measure it again. We have found the occasional out-of-round primer more frequently than in the past. .001" out of round is a significant amount.
  7. The dies are case hardened. You will have to anneal the top of the die to be able to thread it, bore out the top exhaust port. It can be done, as that is how the original prototypes were made 40+ years ago. You could contact ch4d.com for customer trim dies. They are slow, but reliable.
  8. call or email us and ask for an alignment tool. If you email, please include your address.
  9. Push down on the edge of the shellplate at station 4. If it feels springy, then the shellplate bolt needs to be slightly tighter.
  10. First, clean and grease the primer disc axle pin. This is the most common cause for the disc failing to rotate fully. If this does not correct the problem, then shim the primer arm cam, the black polymer cam bolted to the upper right front frame strut with a piece of cardboard. If this corrects it, then contact Dillon for a replacement cam, as yours is worn.
  11. I sugest you email Dillon Precision with a photo and your address, and request a replacement pin. The knurling may be marginal on the pin. The smooth surface of the pin needs to be well greased.
  12. Push down on the edge of the shellplate at station 7, the seat die position. If it feels springy, then the shellplate lock rings needs to be tighter.
  13. The handles are a screw machine part, made from round bar stock. Based on the discoloration it appears to have been partially cracked for a while.
  14. NATE40, Have you checked out the various tech videos on the DIllon website? Product Videos| XL750 (dillonprecision.com) Your issues are almost always adjustment-related. Have you called the 800-223-4570 number while you are in front of the loader for assistance? That's why our CSRs are here. If all else fails, we will have you send us your loader, with the toolhead, dies, etc adjusted as is, so we can troubleshoot it here.
  15. Be aware that the 550 case feeder will not feed rifle length cases, including 223. How it works is the case must be short enough to slide under the end of the decap pin. 45Colt/44 Magnum/300 Blackout are the tallest cases it will feed. If you want the ability to feed rifle cases, then go with the 750.
  16. Not that works with a Dillon casefeeder. We tried this years ago.
  17. Fill the hopper at least 2/3 full. Throw ten powder charges and dump them back into the hopper. Weigh the next ten charges and write them down. Now add the second baffle and repeat this. Does your weight variation increase, decrease, or stay the same? Keep in mind most powder scales are accurate to within +/- .1 grain.
  18. We use the "K" (257") powder funnel in the 6.5 Creedmoor conversion, as the case has a thinner neck than most 6.5mm cases.
  19. The 550 B added the low primer alarm and the powder measure failsafe linkage to the RL550. The 550 C changes are more subtle. The "C" added a screw-in upper link arm pivot pins, and a grease zerk fitting to the lower link arm pivot pin.
  20. Start by seeing if sized, empty cases freely chamber fully and fall out. If they do, then the size die is not the problem. Could be insufficient or excessive crimping, OALtoo long, or bullet seated too deep into the case.
  21. I recall seeing your email. We are responding today. We just need your address, and we will send a replacement primer slide assembly.
  22. Tear it down and clean the primer feed, and be sure to push a small (3/8" x 3/8") cloth patch, wet with alcohol, through the magazine tube a few times to clean the interior. Then hold the tube upright on your bench, with the plastic tip resting on the benchtop. Drop one primer shiny side down into the top of the magazine. Listen for it to slide down. Gently pick the tube up. The primer should be resting on your benchtop. If it is stuck in the plastic tip, then replace the tip.
