Jonesjohnm
I’m looking at changing over from HP 38 to Alliant Sport Pistol for use in my carry optics pistols. I’m currently using coated 139 grain LRN. What is the general consensus on this stuff? I like the price and availability of this stuff. Mcfoto
I have used it for over a year with great success in my Limited .40 load. Like you, I’m going Carry Optic in the coming year and plan on using in 9 for that platform.

Dwbsig
I’ve been Thur a little over 12 lbs over the last couple years switching from w-231. Charge wt is close with sport pistol being a little bit hotter. Sport pistol is cleaner from low to high end of the charge wight and it really cleans up on max loads. I use 4.4 grs with 124 jhp delta P. in my open gun which is very clean burning. I see no need to change.
mveto
I really like Sport Pistol, just ordered another 8lbs jug, I use 135gr bullets and my load is 3.5gr get around 130pf with that load.
SteelCityShooter
Another Sport Pistol fan. I load 4.0 gr with a Blue Bullet coated 125 gr RN and an loa of 1.135". My 5" M&P9 2.0 produces 1066 fps and a PF of 132. The same load in a 16" JP GMR15 gives 1198 fps and a PF of 150. Try it, you'll like it.
texasref
I was looking for a less expensive replacement for N320 and I thinks Sport Pistol is it. Is anyone out there using it with 147gn bullets, I was using 3.5gns of N320 and that's what I'm using with Sport Pistol but I have seen charges as low as 3.2gn from others. Wondering if there is a group opinion and also what the Power Factor would be.

That same load with a 145 gr RN (Bayou) @1.135 oal still gives me a 128+ PF from a 9mm 1911. Edited December 24, 2019 by Batmo spelling

If PF is not an issue (Steel Challenge) I can run 3.3gr SP and 115gr Bayou in the same gun. Working up a PCC Load and I'm down to 3.1gr SP with the same 115gr bullets, but this is with a Wiland barrel.

Demus319
As on price yes PP is cheaper then HP but for me I have to use more PP to make power factor then HP38. To me it a wash!
GMP
Sport Pistol, not Power Pistol (PP). Very different
blue_dot_glock
summers 145 gr .357" with 3.5 gr ASP, 925 fps (134 PF) out of a glock 19 here.
B21
Seems like a lot of folks have jumped on the SP train. It's becoming increasingly difficult to find the 8lb jugs in stock.
Eman
I’m on the Sport Pistol train. I shot titegroup and N320 and sport pistol is the perfect go between in price and performance. 147gr blue bullet out of a g34 with 3.1gr SP. 131PFish
Shorty4087
Been through 8lbs of Sport Pistol in both 9 and 40 over the past year and very satisfied. I was running 3.4gn with a SNS 135gn RN (130pf) until I recently increased to 3.7gn with a longer OAL, which improved accuracy.

ddc
I'm using the RMR 135 FN jacketed loaded to 1.125/1.130. Gun is the base P320 X5. 4.0 grains gets me a low 130's power factor with a decent standard deviation. I took 10 shots on this test but only six registered on the chrono. However the data is typical of other runs I've made with the same load. Power Factor Average: 132 Power Factor Low: 130 Power Factor High: 135 Number of Shots: 6 Minimum: 964 Maximum: 1004 Spread: 40 Average: 980 Standard Deviation: 15 # Velocity Ft/lbs Power Factor Date 6 990 293.8 133 6/20/19 2:47 PM 5 964 278.5 130 6/20/19 2:47 PM 4 968 280.9 130 6/20/19 2:47 PM 3 1004 302.1 135 6/20/19 2:47 PM 2 989 293.2 133 6/20/19 2:47 PM 1 968 280.9 130 6/20/19 2:47 PM Edited December 29, 2019 by ddc
