  1. Mag pouches for sure. Short mags can be carried just like pistol mags. Longer sticks can be carried behind midline with bullets facing rearward like an AR mag and loaded in same fashion with "beer can" grip.
  2. Non-reciprocating front sight means that you should maybe be able to keep it in focus better. Also adds some extra weight to the front of gun to cut down on muzzle movement in recoil.
  3. Here is one that really chapped me... NON-USPSA match. During pre-match brief, shooter removes cased pistol from range cart, unzips it, removes pistol from case holsters it. He was immediately DQ'd. No established ruleset for these matches at major CMP range, but in this situation, there was no way to argue against the DQ. Used "handling firearm outside safe area and not under RO supervision/instruction" as justification. Made sense to me. Match brief proceeded. Much attention was given to only handling firearms at appropriate times and places. Use safe areas for bagging and unbagging. No ammo in safe area, yada, yada... Match started. On my squad's 2nd stage, our 2nd shooter fired 1-2 rds and his AR stopped. RO stopped shooter and they tried to "clear" his rifle. Shooter and RO couldnt get it done. So, RO sends shooter to safe area to continue working on firearm. I needed to replace a battery in my PCC laser, so I headed to safe area as well. When I got there the shooter was still working to clear his rifle. I waited behind him a bit and asked to help. He declined. I wanted to get started on my gun, so I asked if he was certain that it was an empty case stuck in the chamber. He said yes. I remained back a bit and continued watching as he produced a cleaning rod, dropped it in the barrel from the muzzle and out fell a live .223 round... Whatcha think?
  4. "Cratered" or pierced... The concern that most are expressing is that you have primers that are being punctured/pierced by funky firing pin and/or pressure... That would explain the bits of material you've found.
  5. Search "9 major powder"... HS6, Silhouette, etc...
  6. Thanks for asking this! So, what's the term for the "shoulder" where the tapered "ogive" meets the full bullet diameter?
  7. Guess... Test... Revise... Eventually, you will get to a point where you decide to just shoot it.
  8. I think this is awesome. Sounds kinda like the 3Gun match from a few weeks back or A6 from a few months ago...
  9. The Ready Tactical pouches are tough to beat for the price. Check out CPWSA for pictures and pricing.
  10. If they pass a case gauge and run in your gun, shoot them up. Use them for slow fire practice if you are concerned about reliability. The snag that I experienced when I first started reloading pistol (.40) ammo was that I too had a set of dies (may have even been the same Hornady set you speak of) with a roll crimp. I mistakenly "over" crimped/rolled some rounds and it actually created a bulging ring around the case neck that kept the rounds from feeding. Just be careful, go slow, and only do a few rounds at a time while you are trying to sort everything out.
  11. Agree that a used gun is the way to start. In fact, of the 7 2011's I have owned, none were purchased new.
  12. No, just a "Thumb Shield". 2 different parts in the example pictured.
  13. Jerry M. has some great rifle drills that help you get a good feel for rifle transitions and cadence, the "V drill" is one that I have used a fair bit. Add a couple pieces of steel at distances from 50 to 150yds and alternate between them. Shoot the steel offhand, transition to the "v-drill" setup, and then go back and hit the steel again from another position. Rifle is about learning how fast you can go up close and still get your hits and how long you need to spend at longer distances to get hits. Just shooting paper at various distances will teach you a great deal about sight offset and trajectory and such.
  14. Especially with lighter mainsprings.
  15. It's what the PT hopes to be one day!
  16. Its an asymmetric version that comes in 2 configurations; top or bottom curved. It's a hybrid between a standard curved profile and a flat profile. WIth the "top" curved, the top half of the trigger is like a standard curved trigger and the bottom half is flat. Bottom curved is the opposite. Google it.
  17. I bet its around a 50/50 split. Definitely not required.
  18. I don't think you can make a simple generalization on this... I think lots of PCC shooters are 3-Gunners who often competed in Limited in USPSA to be able to run their 3Gun pistols/mags. But, I think PCC is getting interest from shooters from all divisions except maybe Revo...and maybe even 1-2 of those too.
  19. That's an opportunity to make a few bucks for the team for sure. Have a 2nd jersey that's close to the team jersey(slightly different colors or something) and sell them to "supporters"...
  20. Do those numbers assume single-round neutralization of targets with rifle & pistol?
  21. I bet it breaks 50ozs. Only way to add anything significant would be to sleeve the barrel at this point... And a "heavy" magwell
