  1. I'm subscribed to a few threads/forums/subgroups on here and generally get an email notification when I have a PM, etc. I'm not seeing my email notifications for the past few hours... Have I done something wrong?
  2. This guy likely has a pretty solid answer to the OP...
  3. Still think this is correct for CO/gaming.
  4. No single answer unless you ONLY shoot matches under ONE ruleset. 3GUN has an answer. "Horner" matches have a different answer. Others have other answers... Building it with a base capacity of 8+1 and having an extra extension to add +4 to the tube is a solid plan to cover various rulesets.
  5. Definitely more than just painted. They are reduced and re-textured/stippled before application of color/paint.
  6. You can have a W/N frame cut to C/P...
  7. Could be spring/follower-related. Dirty inside tube. Mag "walls" swollen a tad too much from being stepped on etc.?
  8. Grab some ETS to play with. Grab a couple real Glock mags for matches. See how your gun handles both. Number them to keep up with which is which. Either will swell some when fully loaded, see which inserts and drops free best in your gun.
  9. Only 2 stages for the match? Might consider running it as 2 "mini" matches and let people "buy back in" to raise more cash. How do you plan to score it? Time-plus? Time-plus w/points? Hit factor? Other? Use of the different match types allows different division options. And, you can use custom divisions in some match types... Would guess that someone with a little more PS experience can pretty quickly point you in the right direction as long as you're not trying to use some super weird scoring method, etc. Feel free to PM with questions and I will try to help, though I'm definitely no guru.
  10. Lots of posts in a short while...? Posts about matches would generally go into the forum about matches instead of the Open pistol threads. There is only one particularly active sanctioned USPSA club in North Alabama. That club is Rocket City Practical Shooters. They shoot at Cavern Cove range in Woodville, AL. There are a couple other places to shoot "practical pistol", but not sanctioned by USPSA at this time. Could also use the USPSA match finder tool.
  11. Oh! Well, I was getting ready for bed and hadn't learned anything today... Thanks for fixing that for me! List that I posted above is still a decent place to start. And maybe add at least one of the Vortex sights as well.
  12. No optics in Production so assume you mean Carry Optics? Doing a quick search on here will yield a fair amount of insight. Delta Point Pro, RTS, some Sig options, RMR's, and a few others as well. Nobody has discovered that any of them are magical though.
  13. For belt security, the new Carbon Arms belt is going to be hard to beat. I just got one set up a few weeks ago and shot my most physically demanding match yet, Rock Hard, and never had any concerns of my belt coming loose. (Squadmate had his standard double layer w/ keeper come loose on a couple stages.) The CA belt allows a bit more flexibility in mounting TMMS and/or ELS which I found to be substantially better than the ELS belt. Carbon Arms belt is definitely a winner!
  14. I think people are getting way too worried about having their weak hand too close to the "comp" on 9mm AR's etc. The gases/pressure escaping from the end of a 10+ inch 9mm barrel are nothing compared to a .223/5.56. I have a 16" Faxon barrel inside a 15" Lancer tube and the tiny comp I'm using is just at the end of the handguard. 9mm "blast" doesn't hurt at all; no numb/tingling like when you too close to your .223 or .308 comp.
  15. I would agree that the JP would be a good choice to examine...
  16. RCI is limited to Benelli specs when building for them to sell. He can make it yours when you send him your Field model...
  17. I would suspect that OP is referring to the Dillon alignment tool. Shameless plug - Anyone have an alignment tool they want to share for a brief time? Or JJ, wanna share your alignment method that doesn't require the tool?
  18. Yes. Just did it on a 20 year old SV that I recently picked up from one of my shooting mentors. Newer SV frames may have slightly different dimensions, but had zero issues with this one and a DVC grip from Extreme Shooters...
  19. Other stuff that can cause the flipped primers besides just "timing". Wear on the primer plate can do it. Primer ram can cause it. If the new primer is not fully below the shellplate when the shellplate indexes it can/will flip the primer. Confirm that primer insertion ram is fully retracting into its housing. IF this doesn't fix it, remove the primer assembly and look at the bottom of the primer plate and confirm that it is still smooth between primer holes. I need to borrow a shellplate alignment tool myself as mine (650) seems to over index about 3-5 degrees and if my primer pockets are still crimped, it will not seat the next primer without crushing...
