I ran the peltor tactical pros until they died now I’m using the tactical 500 with the gel ear seals they both worked well without earplugs for open, and standing next to a 50 Barrett the head band on the tac pro’s are way more comfortable, the one on the tac 500 sucks

Instead of endlessly replacing firing pins ....
rishii replied to BoyGlock's topic in Pistol Caliber Carbine
I think the problem with the 9mm FP compared to the regular M16 FP is what stops the forward momentum. on the M16/AR15 I believe it’s stopped by the flange on the back of the FP impacting the back of the bolt on the 9 mils it might be stopped by the shoulder at the tip or by the primer itself, which could cause it to flex every time it’s fired. I broke the tip off one of mine, and I’ve seen other break at the shoulder half way up. but then again, I could be full of s#!t -
I have a 6” limited gun and it’s just ok, it was built to comply with the old rule. It cycles slower than I like with any ammo heavier than 165 heads. A friend built a gun with a 6” island barrel and 5” slide, it cycled fast, has the longer sight radius plus a little weight out front if I ever got the bug to shoot limited regularly, I’d build something similar

Difference between a Romero 1pro and DPP mounts
rishii replied to rishii's topic in Gear & Accessories
Thanks for the info i kinda suspected that was the only difference -
Currently have a Romero 1pro and want to move it to a different gun, EGW has a mount that would work for the DPP but they have told me it wouldn’t work for the R1pro. Besides the locator pins, is there any difference between the 2 mounts thanks

From what I remember reading, the difference is the match primers are made by the more experienced workers

dillon 550c powder bar sticks
rishii replied to boatdoc173's topic in Dillon Precision Reloading Equipment
Also what powders -
my bench has a reinforced shelf on the bottom and that’s where I store bullets, tool boxes, all the heavy stuff and it doesn’t move,I agree sand would be overkill

The Romero 1pro has a torque spec of 10 inch pounds on the battery cap

I would guess it’s more a matter of production runs, with all the models of 320’s SIG makes, it wouldn’t make sense to make all the models all the time, too many different part to stock in the fitting room. instead again I’m guessing, they’d dedicate this weeks run to the compact, next week the M17, and so on until they get back around to the compact. i was in the same boat, I looked for weeks and it was out of stock everywhere, then all of a sudden everyone had them in stock for a week, then poof gone again

What small 2011 parts don't require fitting?
rishii replied to UpYoursPal's topic in 1911-style Pistols
Complete pin set for a 2011 firing pin and spring, firing pin stop Safeties, links and extractors need to be fitted, but are good to have -
It looked like the gun simply bounced out of the holster As you’re moving after you grab the ballot, and you change direction you can see the gun start to move as you hip bumps the holster hanger as you ran the hanger bump on your hip several time until it bounced out

I’ve been using kroil for a while now, I swab my comp after I shoot and let it sit till the next time, it will loosen the crud that’ll get blown out the next time I shoot.

I’ve shot cases of blue bullets In 115,125,135 all in .355 in PCC, production, SS and major in supercomp they all shot great, I’d order what you know works for now and experiment later when the bullet supplies get back to normal.

The main problem with caspian was during the assault weapon ban they refused to sell “repair” tubes. Ive been running caspian’s since 94 and started with 6 mag, and 26 years later 4 of those are still in use, and being in the people’s republic, they’re nurtured to 10 rounds and have been dropped, stepped on, kicked, left out in the rain and generally abused and keep going. Also caspian has at least 3 different 38 super/9mm mags, chromed, blued and the new style. the blued and the 10 round mags were rubbish, the chromed are what I run and are fantastic, the new style 40 mags I have are someplace in between.

I’ve been using the black scorpion pouches, highly adjustable and so far I like them my only gripes are it may be too adjustable and the thumb screws stick out too far and I sometimes hook them with my index finger but it’s easy to remove them and cut the adjustment screw down

mine did that with 223 brass, I felt the inside of the funnel and it was gunked up, I cleaned it with alcohol and it helped My case feeder is the older style that came with a white bushing that fit inside the funnel for pistol rounds, I tried running it once without it and it jammed the same way as you pic

Which Dillon for 38 special?
rishii replied to Lower40's topic in Dillon Precision Reloading Equipment
I’d just go to the Dillon website and order a rl550c with the 38 special conversion kit your old dies will work, the press comes with the primer feed and powder measure -

How to Shoot an Optic with the Sun in Front
rishii replied to CClassForLife's topic in Handgun Techniques
Same principle as the old Armson Occluded Eye Gunsight (OEG) one of the early dot sights A solid tube with a tritium? Dot, look thru it with one eye closed and all you see is the dot, open both eyes and the red dot gets superimposed onto what you’re looking at. A definite what the hell the 1st time I used one -
simple way to separate 380, 9 and 40, you'll need a few bullet trays that come in the blazer 40 or 45 ammo, go to the range and dumpster dive the trash, they're white and have square holes. next get a big tray, line he bottom with the bullet trays and from about a foot up, slowly drop handfuls of brass into the trays. about 80-90% will land with the case mouth facing up. now it's easy to see the different cases, 380 is shorter, 40 is taller and fill the square hole. also check for stepped brass, berdan primed, cracked brass, next take a empty tray put it over the one you're hold and flip the check the rest and look for crimped brass and if you want to sort by headstamp now's the time to do it.
