So,  we have multiple , individual sports: NFL, NHL, NBA and MLB.  they are all different in some respect, have theiur loyal followers & detractors but the one thing they do all have in common is that they are sports. Why not have an event where athletes from each league compete against eachother to see who is the most best?

It doesn't seem that crazy to have people participate in similar events for a big title, kind of like the decathlon in the Olympics. While they're specialists in each of those events the decathlon gives you the best all-round

No it's not, but if I wanted to do those other sports, I would. Almost all the people I know in USPSA only shoot USPSA. Some also do a steel or 3gun match here and there, but most are not interested in the others.

That is true, but then you have people like me that mainly shoot uspsa, but enjoy 3 gun, nra high power, sporting clays, silhouettes, etc. But i do realize i am in the minority, and also realize a match like being discussed is probably a pipe dream

This sounds like a reality TV show. We could have them shoot a different discipline every week. We'll call it.....Top Shooter, or Best Shot. Something along those lines.

Put a happy ending there and it'll write itself, I swear
All we need, all we need are some meetings and a lead

Hmm... So you could probably do really well at this kind of event. In fact there are probably a lot of guys who kind of dabble in all these sports at the hobby level. They probably do okay in all of them but never win any of them. This is a great chance for those guys to have a shot at a World Champion title.

we already have such a sport. It's called uspsa. If you look at the top competitors that focus on uspsa, they do very very well in these other sports when they compete, but the top competitors that focus on those other sports don't seem to be quite as successful as uspsa.  (note that I'm only talking about actual action sports, not sporting clays, prs, nrl22, silhouette, etc...)

You haven't seen me shoot lol. No, jerry m or Daniel h, would destroy everyone one at this kind of event. Daniel won the nra thing like what is being discussed.  I would just enjoy this even, much any match i go to. The Cadillac is safe from me

In theory, this would be very interesting.

In practicality, I don't see it as being possible..

I could go ahead and tell you which member/sport would win.

And since that'd almost certainly be the case each time, let's just stick with that one sport.

3 gun.  If they can bring a full carbine to your pistol match, they will win...🤣

I mean, only rifle shooters think they win overall.

Well,... That's not true. I like beating the rifle shooters. They don't seem to worry about who won the HOA for the match when that happens.  Interesting.

No.

The idea that everyone gets to play is really getting old.  It already got us welfare open and rifles at pistol matches.  And that was after decades of trying to reduce the number of divisions and make the sport closer to heads up.  We already have enough divisions and categories.

Someone needs to tell these people no.  Please join me.

No, I'm not going to join you and I doubt that many others will either.  I like the variety, I shoot as many different disciplines as possible, although I did cut back on straight up pistol only matches due to time constraints and burn out.

So, just say NO! to the PC police in the shooting competition world.  Oh, and the PC does not refer to Pistol Competition, it refers to the general thought police attitude of anything I personally don't like should be not be allowed.  If you don't like it, don't shoot it, let everybody else make their own decisions.

I think CO is here to stay, judging by the participation numbers. I'd be happy to have pcc confined to pcc-only matches. I think it is super-fun and interesting in that context. OTOH, I'm happy to have pcc in pistol matches too, because then I get to mock those lazy losers for getting beat by guys with iron sights (except max, I don't mock max, but only because he is a super hard worker and good guy).

Your "Championship" will have like 10-15 participants that already shoot all of the top matches in those sports.

No one else is going to spend money to have 6-10 dedicated guns to shoot this one and only match... especially when most people don't care-to-hate multiple of those shooting sports and partake in their specific one for a reason.

I agree that they're probably hear to stay, which is why I'm kinda cranky about it.  I wanted the game to stay pretty simple and for Open to be the division where things evolve.  Unfortunately my view--while it was the rule for decades--is no longer.

FWIW I also disagreed with allowing 8 shot revolvers in the revolver division instead of making them play in production.  I'd have sooner saw them get rid of the revolver division entirely rather than rendering everyone's 625s obsolete.

I'm sure others feel the same as me but admittedly we're a minority and will probably stay that way.

If PCC was a separate match, I'd probably build a gun and shoot it.

If I cared about revolver shooters I'd probably feel bad about them switching up their division requirements like that, but on the other hand, anything to reduce revo participation is ok by me.

are there any revolver shooters left?

last Nationals with revolver I could find had 31 people shoot it, why waste the money for a dead division?
