  1. Wait...what? While not really rules thing, DQ info would have no impact on purchasing a firearm in Texas, anyway. Thats not an NCIS item in any way.
  2. It should be a shooting competition not an athletic competition. If you want that, there are Spartan type competitions out there (shakes cane at kids).
  3. Austin and north of Austin, Florence, Copperas Cove. I am just a hack so probably don't.
  4. This is fair, and its a discussion in the rules forum so is the best answer. As an aside, the discussion related to the permutations of "loading up" and "unloading" in the parking lot are interesting and probably have been the subject of many discussions. As noted in Central Texas, we typically get the statement by the match director to handle that at a safe table or berm under RO supervision. Its interesting that other areas may be diffferent.
  5. Or the range can throw out your club.
  6. Law beats rules. All you have to do is follow the rules for their competition piece. Back to the OP, I don't see how this could be an issue. The competitor asked what to do.
  7. In some jurisdictions and units that is correct.
  8. So a PoPo walks up to the line, forgets his carry is loaded (assuming he is not shooting that) and asks what to do. Tell him what to do and go to the next shooter on the list. Why is this even a thread? I do not know about other states. I do know that in Texas, there will be a fair portion of LTC guys. That are universally told NOT to degun in the car as its more of a safety hazard. Having someone grab an RO to degun is common.
  9. No you cannot. Nor can you airgun. You do get a walkthrough when the SO is doing their course of fire and after, its just a group thing and the squad doesn't fart around for ten minutes. On the flipside, how often to you get to shout of a van? To the topic, I am surprised. If its an issue, the SO could say don't do that. i don't see where its a DQ type offense.
  10. Trying to figure out why the entire membership should pay for this. It should be self supporting.
  11. The only immediate issue, is that the "Super" National has to be held in an area that supports hotels sufficient for that number of shooters. Some ranges are...remote.
  12. This sounds like an excellent way to lose ROs.
  13. IIRC but the division was set up to compete with IDPA's SSP yes? Just my opinion, but I doubt capacity matters for issues of Production popularity. Just as with revolvers, technology has advanced. Carry optics are rapidly becoming the standard with police and as such will become the industry standard presently.
  14. To be fair, its not much money actually. Same annual revenues as a moderate church in the South. Now the expenses make me go...what??? But thats for a different board. Hit factor matches may be the bee's knees for clubs that don't want to support USPSA right now, but want to stay involved in the space - and have matches.
  15. It was cold Saturday morning wasn't it. Good to see the club hit a new range record for attendance.
  16. You can get rosin at the sporting goods store. Just get it in the baseball section.
  17. This is an excellent point. When I was running SSP, the change was cool for about one match, then everyone reset slightly to insure I was always doing a reload regardless. Further with the 18 round limitation, most matches were already at 17 or 18 rounds. Its really no different.
  18. My bad: there is an outline: https://www.idpa.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/2024-Rulebook-changes.pdf
  19. No major change, maybe a modest increase.
  20. Taylor and others make 140mm mag extensions.
  21. Are you properly hooked into local shooting matches? If not tell me what region located.
