GSonnen
Been shooting Glocks for years. This past spring I bought a new STI 2011 Tactical 5.0 9mm for multigun matches. Really like the trigger. I'm a fan of old Breakfree CLP for maintenance and lube in my firearms. I know 2011s run better when well lubed and I have no issues will CLP so far (1500 rounds down the pipe). Is there a specific lube that you really NEED to keep a 2011 humming or am I GTG with CLP?
PKT1106
Any of the better lubricants will do. I actually use Mobil 1 High Milage. I forget the weight off-hand, but it seems do work pretty well.
nomore606
I use to use froglube but it would congeal during cold weather or after high round count matches. I now use Mobile 1 5w-30. It is the best product for a tight fitting 2011 and it's much cheaper than any lube on the market.
Moltke
Just bought my first 2011 but I'm going to treat it like all my other guns. Clean it then apply a generous amount of FIRECLEAN at my last practice session before a major match. Recoil during the practice session removes the excess and then it sits in wait for showtime. bountyhunter
Slide Glide blended with FP-10 is excellent and you can adjust the viscosity by adding more or less FP-10. The grease holds the lube in place.
