  1. Got an update. It’s sent out for finish. 2-3 weeks and I’ll have my very 1st SV.
  2. No sir. I ordered last April. I was quoted 10 months but from what I’ve been hearing, they’re taking closer to 12 months. Expecting a call or email letting me know that it’s completed and I can make that final payment. Ill be sure to post it up when I do.
  3. Training beats gadgets every time. I still hate hard leans though. And I noticed them in abundance once PCC came on the scene.
  4. So what I’m hearing, is next time we go out, we’ll be running PCCs…. Game on sir! Game on! Ill be sure to run my MPX with the MRO.
  5. Without my reloading bench, ammo has become less available. But give me a few months and you should be getting msgs from me about meet up at a match.
  6. Hoping to see mine by the end of this month. Hopefully no later than next month.
  7. I overheard a conversation between an IDPA member and someone from the Tiger Team years ago. So take it for what it’s worth. When asked about comps, they said they didn’t permit them because of the stage description required shots to be made from retention, depending on the comp/porting, it could blow hot gassed/debris into the shooter’s eyes. How true this comment is/was, is beyond me. It may have just been old guard mentality. But it stuck with me. I love the idea of porting a gun that I would carry but have always been concerned about the hot gasses and/or debris that may be blown up into my face if I had to shoot from retention.
  8. I’m a bit old school and have some older powders. I still have old recipe Clays for loading. 3.0gr over Acme 147gr. Was good for 135pf. As far as 124gr go, I currently use Precision Delta 124gr JHP. The 124gr are used for my MPX. It doesn’t play well with coated. But back when I used to pick up the phone to order Bayou Bullets, I used 3.4gr of Clays under his 124gr round nose.
  9. The plus that 147gr have are the flat nose making a cleaner ring to be scored. Otherwise, it’s all personal preference, what powder/charge your use and what spring rate you have. I use 147gr in my pistol, but 124gr for my PCC. Yes, my PCC load is hotter.
  10. deleted because I misread the title and thought this was the 1911 not the 2011 model…
  11. Just put down a large neoprene cleaning mat. The kind that has a rubberized backing so chemicals don’t seep through. Otherwise, leave that butcher block as is. Heck, I like a good wooden bench top with stains. Adds character. And if you drop anything metal on it, it absorbs the blow instead of damaging the finish on your gun. Otherwise you may be able to get away applying an acrylic coat on it. But some cleaners may cloud it. My only other suggestion is that stuff people use to refinish their garage floors. But then you would be hiding that beautiful butcher block wood.
  12. It’s been a few years (4-5 I think), but I’m your huckleberry. I’m planning to shoot ESP next month. I may also take my PCC as well. I have a lot of practicing to do before I’m remotely comfortable shooting CO. Little to no time behind the optic as it stands. And a slight hesitation causes me to lose any advantage vs iron sights.
  13. Yeah, with the inclusion of fault lines, MD should be more conscious of what they’re asking of a less limber/agile shooter. Not every stage has to be an acrobatic display.
  14. This ^ Do you know how many times I wish I had stayed home because the match director decided that he was going to make a revo friendly match? Or that extreme lean around barricades were needed to slow down the PCC shooters?
  15. Yeah, California had “hi-cap” (standard capacity) mags grandfathered in the 90s I think. Lots of people were “repairing” their mags as a way to get more of them. Just had to be purchased in pieces and not whole.
  16. I had a malfunction caused by ammo that wasn’t case gauged. The malfunction forced me to have to strip the mag to be able to rack the slide and clear the jam. At the time I had a Krebs magwell on my gun because I thought it was cool. What I didn’t realize was that it did not allow me enough room to get a good grip on the mag. So when I was forced to clear the jam, I tore up my nails just to be able to grab a hold of the mag. Thankfully there were no children present at that match. That same day I had a mag volcano on me on another stage. The next day I invested in an STI tactical magwell and those Dawson basepads. I use those basepads for all of my mags that don’t say MBX.
  17. If he’s looking to use this for ESP, the Artemis would be ideal. Sight radius of a 5” but with the slide mass of a 4”. And the extra mass of a 5” barrel and additional weight on a stationary sight makes it an excellent gamers gun.
  18. Still had enough meat to get a hold of to strip a jammed mag?
  19. Just heard back earlier from my AC… …If it makes weight and fits the box it's ESP legal. It cannot have any other IDPA restricted items and must be suitable for everyday carry…. So comps and ports still a no-no. But sight blocks and island barrels seem to be a go!
  20. Trace is right. You can use the 126mm mags in the Carry. But at slide lock, slamming in a 126mm mag could damage the ejector. No bueno. Are you looking to carry this regularly and use it for competition as well? Or just plink at the range?
