  1. I looked at this option a few years ago and it was going to run about $1500.
  2. 1.235-1.240 OAL with STI (version 1 magazines) and MBX magazines. Never any issues.
  3. See if you can find a friend with Dawson’s STI Mag tune-up kit. My guess is the magazine body is a little out of spec. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. What does it chrono at for you? Just asking out if curiosity. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I would bet the OAL of the round is causing the issues. You should measure it and also chrono the round if you want to continue shooting major. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I don’t know of any “factory” ammo that could make the comp work as intended. There are some boutique ammo manufacturers like Atlanta Arms, that do sell major power factor ammo & what this pistol needs. No idea about any comp cracking issues. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I use only Duracell and they have functioned flawlessly. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  9. My advice is to shoot a 38 Super side by side with a 45 acp. You might be surprised with the recoil of a 38 Super and a defensive load. If you go with something like a Springfield Armory EMP4, you get a 1911 pistol redesigned specially for the 9mm cartridge and it will shoot softer than a 1911 38 Super or 45 ACP. Good luck to you. 10. I would go with 9mm, simply because of the manufacturer defensive ammo that is available in the market. I’m not sure what is available in the 38 Super world but there is a lot available in 9mm. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Lighter bullet was the answer for me on a 2011 40SW or at least it seemed so. YMMV. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I agree with the comments above, I also use the Weigand jig.
  13. I have shot approximately 1600 rounds Atlanta Arms ammo in 38SC in the past. I have never experienced any adverse issues whatsoever. This is very consistent ammo. At an outside air temperature of 87F, the ammo chrono'd to 170-173 PF over ten shot average with an extreme spread of 24 fps and a standard deviation of 7 fps.
  14. I would make sure you are flaring the case mouth sufficiently and not over crimping. Take a few of your loaded bullets apart to inspect the actual projectile for signs of shaving the coating while seating or over crimping. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I don't have an identical 2nd gun but I have one I can shoot equally (or very close to) as well. Just say'in.
