Let's stick to 2011 40s. If you look at store bought 40 ammunition, it will probably run in every factory 40. Why would you load long. When we start using very fast powders that can generate very high pressures, loading long is kind of a safety feature. If the bullet were to "setback' during the feeding process, you have a slight safety margin. If you reload correctly, setback is rarely an issue. I can tell you loading long with some barrels causes issues. Loading long pushes the ogive of the bullet closer to lands of the barrel which can increase pressures. Loading long also changes the position the bullet hits the feed ramp, in some instances slowing the feeding process. IMO, loading long in 40 has no real benefit, but if your gun feeds and runs with loaded long bullets press on. As they say, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". I don't recommend starting out loading long. You may encounter problems that most people would blame on the mags, and you'd be chasing the wrong problem. I do like the reasoning. "It's closer to the target"

Reduce the recoil spring. Having said that, comparing a 2011 open gun to comped G34 does not work. Shooting flat has many variables. You can take a very flat shooting steel open gun and hand it to a novice and watch-no so flat. Grip has a lot to do with flatness.

Having watched numerous PCC shooters at different clubs, it is pretty obvious that a handgun is at a disadvantage if you were shooting against each other in USPSA 32 round field course. A 9mm rifle with a 16" barrel, locked into the shoulder, braced with you weak hand, a dot and/or laser, is going to be more accurate than any handgun shooting USPSA. Oh, let's not forget the 40 round mag capacity. I'm not complaining as it looks like fun, but you have to be fast to compete in PCC from what I am seeing. . I see PCC shooters taking shots at distances we handgun shooters shy away from. In other words, we have to get closer. It also enables PCC shooters to use less shooting positions. From what most PCC shooters are telling me, their loads won't even make minor in a production gun. It's all fun!

Yes. True! but there is a significant price delta between 3N38 and HS6. Lower the cost of each round=more practice time.

(1). Most all 9 major loads are compressed. Having said that, I would not load that short. (2) MG bullets require more powder than other 115. I have used MG in numerous barrels. IMHO, MG bullets are harder and do not seal the barrel as tight as other bullets. The gas escapes around the bullet reducing FPS. Another indication of this was the amount of lead in my comp with MG JHP. When I switched to another JHP 115, the lead in the comp was almost nil. (3) KKM barrels (in my experience) are faster than other brands, meaning less powder needed for the same FPS. (4) If you load long (1.165) and are experiencing feeding issues--you might want to look at the feed ramp or the feed ramp fit to frame. Except short chambered barrels, 99% of the barrels used for Open guns will feed 1.165 without issue.

3N38 and HS6 in that order.

99.9% of the time you will lose on a edge hit if you call for a calibration. Speculation: If the ROs blocked his retreat, the shooter should have (1) Asked for a reshoot immediately (2) If denied, call for the RM. An ARB probably would not have been needed.

RTS2 would work. It really boils down to your preference.

I totally disagree with your comment on 9 Major being violent. I have both 9 and 38sc open guns. i have had many 9s and 38s. I currently shoot an extremely soft shooting 9 major gun. I have a 38SC open also. 9 major guns are just as reliable as 38 open guns.... 9s get a bad reputation because 9 major takes a little more shooter reloading experience to develop a load and a little more knowledge about magazine tuning. SVI's model has always been based on 38sc. Why should they build 9s--they can't keep up with the demand now for 38sc guns.

Mostly true. I think some barrels and using 124s do make major in 9, but barely. I don't think you can fit enough 3N38 to safely pass every chrono.

Shoot as many matches as you can. Most local matches have different stages presenting different challenges. I use local matches to push myself to go faster, evaluate where could I have saved a step, did I optimize the stage? etc....

Depends on how they are mounted. Most of the mounts I've had so far, will put the dots (RTS2, Delta point) higher than a 90 degree. Having said that, the height difference is minimal. I feel a lot is gained in balance and feel of the gun going to a side mounted RTS2.

And the BOD notes are recommended changes.The current rule book is still the bible.

My findings also. I shouldn't say this, but I have AFTECs with 20K and work just fine.. I will add one bit of advice. You do have to clean the entire extractor every so often and that includes running a pipe cleaner in the extractor tunnel.

Every barrel (even same manufacturer) can have different powder requirements to reach a given PF. I would run your load OAL @ 1.168. Less pressure and they should feed with no issues in a Trubor, but try before you load several hundred. You might see a slight loss in FPS going to 1.168. I have barrel ports and load 115 JHP with 9.1 of HS6. Others load 9.x grains also. The load is very flat and very accurate, but you would not need 9 grains. I load my cases many times with no issues. I use SRP all the time. 3N38 (IMO) is a waste of money for 9 major. HS 6 (for me) burns fairly clean and is fairly easy to find. It's kind of like putting 93 octane in a Honda. Your just wasting your money as the engine is not tuned to run on 93 octane.

The difference between a Glock and let's say a CZ Shadow is huge. The grip angle on the Glock is different. The Glock trigger sucks compared to other guns. I'm not bashing Glock, so you Glock shooters don't get butt hurt. I've had Glocks. A CZ SP01 has a grip angle akin to a 45. The single action trigger of a CZ SP01 can be fine tuned to about 3 lbs. A Glock, or any striker fired trigger will never match a tuned CZ trigger. A Glock "points" different than most other guns. You have to decide what gun "fits" you best and STAY with it.

It is hard to tell from the pictures. Barrel holes? I think 2, with one in the comp?

I excepted CFE because I do not have any data (never used it). I do have a friend who tried CFE in 38SC and showed pressure signs. My experience: AutoComp is good with 124s and no barrel holes to deal with. When you start upping the charge with AutoComp, I did not like the looks of the primers. IMR 4756 (now discontinued) can fill a 9 MM or 38 SC case with 115/121/124s and is safe. Silhouette is a great powder also. Temp sensitive! Gets stronger in cold weather.
