  1. Even on a mount it was turning off? I have had mine for about two or three months now...Use it every monday night and so far no problems..oops should not have said that. Will probably puke now. So far...I like it
  2. This. If you're shooting minor against major, you are pretty much starting around 10% in the hole. Not that it matters in any way shape or form. It matters if you are shooting Lim Minor. Of course it does. I'm saying the comparison between divisions doesn't matter in any way shape or form. It doesn't matter if pcc beats all the open shooters or vice versa. Who cares? If I don't send out "overall" stats in my matches-I hear about it. No matter what Division I am shooting, if someone is consistently two or three positions higher and I start gaining or even surpassing that person--I am becoming faster/better. It is just one of many metrics. The more people shoot the better it is. It's all good!
  3. At a sanctioned match, only USPSA rules apply. Not local range rules. Range Rules can be more restrictive. Please provide a USPSA rule that supports your statement. Show me a USPSA rule that says a club cannot be more restrictive! 3.3 Applicability of Rules: USPSA matches are governed by the rules applicable to the discipline. Host organizations may not enforce local rules except to comply with legislation or legal precedent in the applicable jurisdiction. Any voluntarily adopted rules that are not in compliance with these rules must not be applied to USPSA matches without the express written consent of the President of USPSA. All local rules allowed under these provisions will be documented at USPSA HQ. Clubs are membership owned and the elected officials/trustees can enact stricter safety rules if they choose. You want to have a USPSA match at that club, you abide by the rules of the club. Do you really think USPSA has any jurisdiction in a private club....... Example: Club A does not allow steel. You really think the USPSA Pres can overrule that club policy?
  4. Agree hmmmm....7 years on my opens and not one failure yet.

  6. Anytime you get "per shot" penalty for stepping over a faut line, you do not sign the score sheet and you request the RM. Many of those calls are wrong. You must gain a significant advantage.

  8. i think it really depends on mounting....on the slide versus on a mount. STI knows their market...They don't want these coming back all the time for warranty.
  9. All of those reasons would apply to 40. 124s in 9 at "minor" do not have to be loaded long even with the 4 powders you mentioned. People forget the mag length comes into play. You load long and the bullets start dragging on the inside of the mag.
  10. Define "comfortable". Why is loading long for 9 minor desirable? Pressure or feeding is definitely not an issue in a Shadow.
  11. So, it's safe to assume the single sided mount could have issues as well? Do you guys that shoot the 90's like them? If your gun is a 9. You will have to "tune" all the parts to eject 100% with an upright mount. Many are offset to the left-which drives me nuts. You will not have to fiddle or tune with a 90 degree mount. A 9 runs 100% and will stay that way until something breaks. I have used a 90 degree for years.
  12. PRODUCTION will not change! Your wasting brain cells thinking about it. Don't think Minor versus Major scoring. EVERYONE in production Division is scored the same. Production is an extremely popular Division as it stands today.
  13. The feed lips of STI mags are not designed to run 9MM. If you want 100% feeding---Grams 9MM followers, springs, basepads. I use the plastic Arrendondo spacers. They don't rattle and you don't need to glue them in. Hardys add wait and rattle. Stock internals may run, but they will fool you and fail at the worst time and cost you a match!
  14. Yep. 10.4 with a 115 in SC. @ 175pf I think the flash is very gun dependent. I've shot the same load in another pistol with much less flash. This one is a Trubore with two decent sized popples. The main thing that is distracting about N38 however is not the flash but the concussion. If there were a way to triple plug I would do it. Inside a house or God forbid a tunnel it will loosen fillings. You bet....when I shoot 10.4-6 of 3N38 in 38SC I get the same flash bang. The concussion rattles the teeth, but the gun is ever so flat.

    New Ride

Worth some $$$ if restored correctly. What engine?

  17. All VIT powders are clean. I've been using HS6 for years in Open. Not even nasty dirty. What does HS6 have to do with split cases?
  18. I'm betting 7.0 will just make major.. just ...
  19. I think Sarge was referring to 140 mags in Open--There is no gauge for 140. 170 must fit the gauge.
  20. You have to run more gas for that comp=more powder. In your mind, more powder=more recoil and your defeating the purpose for your girlfriend. A two port would be better, but.... Put the stock barrel back in--have the ejection port lowered, and load 147s with a fast powder to make minor. She can still use a C-more, bigger mags and you will have more fun shooting. Open Glocks are just hard to get running.
  21. What you will get is the ability to "adjust" the amount of powder to work the comp better. With 3N38--Your at the limit. If your gun has no popple holes and is a 5 inch, you will be able to try 115, 121, 124. In other words, your have the ability to try different combinations until you find the right one for you and the gun.
  22. 3N38 is more of a 38S powder. With a 124/125 bullet-You are going to just about FILL the case to make major. 3N38 is a great powder, but not worth the hassle of going very slow while reloading. You will find-HS6, Silhouette, Autocomp, are very good powders and do not require a full case to make PF.
  23. The only mags that matter are big sticks. 29 in STI and 30 in SVI. On a 32 round stage do you start with a 140 or 170? See why it doesn't matter how many you get in anything but a big stick.
  24. You indicated "stove pipes" are the problem. Does this happen without the C-more being mounted?
