  1. Are these mounted on the slide or on mounts?
  2. When using a progressive loader, you are going to get variation in the OAL. It is just the way it is. Ten thousandths would mean something is wrong. The seating die can get dirty pretty quick. Make sure you clean your dies on a regular basis.
  3. Wilson ambi safety in blue for around $70 or stainless steel for $130
  4. I would call OP back and immediately ask for a Supervisor. Calmly explain what has happened and report the previous person for being rude. . Most of the time you will get some sort of discount or they will send another right out. It depends on what was ordered also. I find being overly nice really works, no matter how pissed I am. The CC company does not immediately credit your account either. THE CC company will call OP and see what the published rules are concerning lost shipments. It really sucks Fedx has a tracking number and it's insured and they can't find a package, but I will tell you a had a package make a deter to some country coming from Alabama to Ohio. They finally rerouted it got it, but it was a royal PITA.
  5. AA#7 is a VERY dirty. With both of those powders you will will probably be on the ragged edge of 165 with three barrel holes and 5.5. KKM barrels are typically faster than STI barrels, but you will still be close. You might make it with N105, but long term it is not the best. With both powders you will be filling the case pretty full and be slopping powder. There are other powders that do not fill the case and make for great loads. HS6, Silhouette, Autocomp, True Blue, Vit N350. Remember, barrels do require more powder sometime down the road.
  6. 5mm = 13/64 of an inch. Really! I don't think there is a trigger package/modification out there that doesn't move the trigger a touch. Look out everyone, we will be looking at everyone's trigger position with a micrometer at Chrono. They will have a brand new model of everyone's gun to compare. Smartass mode off.
  7. The Cajun Pro-Package would be illegal for production. The trigger is visibly modified with a set screw.
  8. A few years ago I'd have agreed, but not lately, especially with Walther. Taran Basepads, Apex Trigger Kit, not exactly fringe aftermarket support. Sponsoring Area 4 the last couple of years, and offering some sponsorship to other clubs and matches. Back in 2012 when I started with a PPQ, there were a couple of us in Northern Illinois who shot them with any regularity. I ditched the platform not long after, but I see more and more of them at matches. These days it doesn't shock me to see three or four at a club match of 65-70 shooters. Is that significant? Not in the CZ/Glock way, but in a few years, with them concentrating on Production Optics, I can see them carving out a pretty decent niche. Again, no way it'll ever be a "premier" choice for competitive shooters, but it definitely has a growing following, and an awful lot of people sure seem to like them once they put a few rounds downrange. To me the plenary question is whether the Apex trigger is installed on the new gun thus rendering the Apex trigger legal for production. Does anyone have that answer? If the trigger is a factory option and the gun is registered with USPSA, the trigger is legal for that gun. Does not make it legal on any gun for Production
  9. STI Mags--(1) Replace 38 followers with Grams 9 followers. (2) Add spacers to mags..I prefer the plastic ones. no rattle and you do not have to attach them to the inside of the mags. (3) The OAL for 9 Major is around 1.165 (slightly longer of shorter depending on your gun) SVI Mags. They should run without modification.
  10. Based on the numbers in your intitial post you should hit 170 @ around 9 grains. Do the math with 121s and your at 169.
  11. I misread the rule in IPSC. "To prevent unsafe and/or unrealistic charging at, or retreat from, targets" whatever that means.
  12. Nobody is saying it is unamerican to shoot at anything but metric targets. Your really stretching. The metric target was here first. It is the "politically correct" crowd that want to change everything we do. The sport of practical shooting originated from competitions in California in the 1950s with the goal of developing handgun skills for defensive use. USPSA wasn't defensive enough so you now have IDPA. IPSC evolved because the International crowd is more PC. I for one, do not want to see USPSA evolve into anything close to IPSC. If Phil Strader and Max think that is the way to go--great. Head to Europe and grow IPSC.
  13. I have to admit that I did not watch the youtube video before I made my previous posts. I just watched it and while Max is a extremely talented shooter, he DQ'd on this subject. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and everyone being able to voice their opinion makes the USA great....and you can also step in a deep pile of sh... saying anything you want. I totally disagree with everything he said.
  14. Zack, that's a good question. I guess unless I shoot a few matches, otherwise I would never know. Anyway, I spoke to a local gunsmith this morning. He's a bit iffy on using the dovetail adapter. He said the dovetail on Glock is generally considered "thin" and may not have enough to hold down the sight over time. The MOS is very attractive but first of all it is hard to get in my area and it is as expensive as a high end RDS, which leads back to the question you asked as to how much commitment I have for this division. Thanks for the reply. Average dovetail mounts are $40-50. Cheap way to see if you like CO. It should last long enough to give you feedback. Are you dead set on Glock? There are other choices within a reasonable price point.
  15. Yeah screw those people who want to actually make a livable wage doing what they love. They can make all the money they want by shooting....don't try to make changes to further that agenda. I'm not saying they are either.
  16. Is your IMM the newer version with only two holes? I'm guessing yes since it is a 9.
  17. Everybody can stop with the "old white boy crap" We are never going to be an ESPN event, I don't care if we shoot at big white circles. The media is still controlled by liberals and anything that promotes the use of guns is not going on regular TV. Taking advice from two of the best known shooters......really? The shooting sports are their income. Think they might have personal reasons to suggest going to turtles........
  18. Be careful what you ask for. IPSC would radicalize stage design. The targets are first, then you can't run forward because that is aggressive. If people want IPSC, move to Europe.
  19. I don't understand the part I bolded in the quote above. Clubs aren't smart enough to charge enough for a match to pay the $1.50 fee to USPSA? Clubs have non-members shoot at a discounted rate compared to members of USPSA for USPSA matches? That's not a shooter numbers problem, that's a "stupidly-run club" problem. I mean, how can the club not be smart enough to charge enough to run the match plus the USPSA fee that they have to pay for members and non-members alike? Did they magically forget that USPSA clubs have fees they need to send in? (Why would a non-member get to shoot the match cheaper?) ....anyway: I really don't understand why this is a topic that anyone is asking USPSA HQ to solve in terms of a new rule. Your right, we do not need new rules. The rules exist.
  20. I don't get "non-members are shooting matches and taking slots from USPSA members"???? Yes, In A8 there many matches if you don't sign up within minutes of sign up opening you are on a wait list. Don't get me wrong we need new members, and we should bring more with us when we go to matches. But the habit of "old Club" members that come to matches at the "home" club take all the slots and never pay USPSA Member dues and the club either does not send in scores because they cant afford to pay the fees to USPSA. as they had more non-members shoot (sometimes at a discounted rate) than paid USPSA members to make it worth while. Scores are on Practiscore go look, oh your a USPSA member and you shot a real good classifier.. Oh well. Oh wait now we start to blend topical issues, like score reporting, match attendance, club affiliation renewal..... Your right. If the club is saying they are USPSA afiliated and running classifiers, but not paying for or not submitting classifiers, contact your Area Director.
  21. Matches owe Uspsa for EVERY shooter, not just members. Sarge nailed that one. Unless you are stripping out non-members from the classifier file, you are paying for them. "To reserve the use of USPSA’s images and intellectual property for USPSA competitions and that activity fees shall be paid for all competitors at any match employing such images or property, or that competitors might reasonably assume to be a USPSA event." "The club understands that failure to follow rules/procedures will result in revocation of USPSA/IPSC affiliation."
  22. Thanks. I missed that. If my matches exceeded capacity, USPSA members would definitely have priority on registration.
  23. I don't think Level 1 matches should mandate USPSA membership. They will join if they want to be classified. I have guys that have been coming for years and will never join. They pay the same for the match as members and just come to enjoy shooting.
  24. I don't get "non-members are shooting matches and taking slots from USPSA members"????
