  1. I got a three brand new ones that I didn’t end up using because I bought an MPX. It was pre-ordered, opened it but didn’t use it at all. I actually forgot all about it until I came across your post. Let me know if your interested.
  2. How much is it being sold for? It it depends largely on the condition of the gun. It can have a low round count but if it’s full of scratches or the action doesn’t work well can affect its value. $1200-1300 is fair.
  3. Seems like you should have educated yourself first before buying the gun. Like it was said in the other X5 thread you posted also, take it to a gunsmith and have the rear sight filed wider to suit your needs. Problem solved!
  4. Yes it’s cut at 60 degrees. The shooters connection racker I linked is on both my CM and TSO.
  5. The set screw “bites” into the slide in the same manner the set crew on the stock slide racker keeps it in place. You can easily remove the slide racker by loosening the setscrew and pulling out the racker. It’s very easy and not inconvenient at all for me.

What ammo is the poster using? I had been using springer’s guide rod with a 10# Wilson combat 1911 recoil spring without any problems after about 2500 of my rounds reloads. Granted my reloads are only around 126-128 pf.
  7. There’s a set screw on the end of it. Edit - I have that slide racker on my TSO. So I’m 100% sure it has a set score on the end to keep it in place. The little dimple-looking thingy on the end is the screw.
  8. When I retired 8 years ago I weighed 178#. Now I weigh about 157-159#. I ate a lot for breakfast after running 3-4 miles and my breakfast consisted of bacon, eggs, sausage and hash browns. I gained weight in spite of the running and weight exercise I was doing. After retirement, I decided to lose weight by doing the same or adding more HIIT exercise and changing my diet. Instead of my usual breakfast of bacon ages etc, I prepared a glass of smoothie consisting of frozen fruits, nuts, almond milk and protein powder. The protein powder in the smoothie keeps me satiated. I had been doing this ever since and also keeping up with my fitness regimen. So far, the I had maintained my weight at 157-158#. I’ll be 52 in a couple of months and healthier than ever compared to 10 years ago. For snacks, I also chugged down a small glass of smoothie with some nuts like pistachios or eat some fresh fruits. You can do it. It’ll be hard at the beginning because it’s a lifestyle change but it’ll get easier once you get used to a new routine.
  9. The cm comes with 11, 13 and 16# springs. 13# was initially installed on mine but had since replaced it with a Wolff 9# recoil spring and it works better with my loads.
  10. Thats what I did on mine. I drilled a hole on my chamber flag, installed one of those “Remove before Firing” keychains which has a metal key ring on it. Remove before firing keychain
  11. That’s so true. I’m glad I did it back then or else it would have taken forever .
  12. Agree. It took 17 days for the ATF in approving my stamp I electronically filed. I e-filed it on Nov 12 and received approval on Nov 29. That’s 17 days with the thanksgiving holiday in between. Whereas it takes 6-9 months if you do the paper/snail mail way of application.
  13. I tried shooting my Shadow 2 loads on my CM just for fun in open minor and it was riculously flat shooting. It’s like shooting a .22! My shadow loads were 124 Gr FMJ FP with 4.1 Gr Winchester 231 @ 1.102-1.104 OAL. Pf is 126-128. I shot those loads with the comp and a 9# recoil spring. I also shoot these loads on my TSO.
  14. I’m using a VG6 Epsilon on mine. Loud as hell and nobody wants to be next to me when I’m shooting it lol.
  15. 18 # according to Sig. I’m using a 10# 1911 spring with a springer precision guide rod on mine shooting 124 Gr PD JHP @ 126-128 pf.
  16. Great to see you here Varoom.
  17. Never had any problems with CBC on my 550. However, stepped brass like FM(Freedom munition) and Maxxtech are pain in the neck. Thats why I always sort my brass when I’m not doing anything at home.
  18. Or you can buy the shooters connection version for $24.99 instead of paying $39.99. Shooter’s Connection Sidewinder slide racker
  19. Search for professor kneelingatlas’ Polishing tutorial. It’s complete with explanation and picture illustrations. Just go slow and take pictures before you dismantle or remove anything so you’ll have a reference if you forgot how it goes back in.
  20. Yes it will make a huge difference in matches. The 8.5# HS is fine if you reload and use federal primers exclusively. I installed the 11.5# on mine and I don’t have any light strike problems with any brand of ammo or primer.
  21. Mecgar makes the mags for the CZ Shadow 2. Buy a couple of different weight recoil springs and test which one suits your ammo better too.
  22. DAA sells an adjustable *thumb rest [generic]* for lefties. Adjustable thumb rests
  23. For my Shadow 2, I load 124 Gr JHP from PD using 4.1-4.2 Gr win 231 @ 1.125-1.128 OAL. I also use the same load for my MPX, TSO and CM. Ave velocity on Shadow 2 - 1027 - 1037 FPS @ 127.34 - 128.58 PF MPX - 1065 - 1087 FPS @ 132.- 134.78 PF Edit - MPX has an 8” barrel
  24. I was in the same predicament a year ago. I ended up buying the X5 and I’m glad I did. It just feels better and shot accurately. Sig just came out with a newer version of the X5 last month and the price for the older version is a lot less now. Check that out. I would also agree with a 6moa Romeo 1. The newer version of the Romeo 1 is apparently better and improved compared to the older version. I installed a springer precision tungsten guide rod and use a 10# 1911 recoil spring on mine. This setup suits my loads pretty well. Good luck.
  25. Yes they do. It’s ability to deformed/stretch under pressure due to outside forces differs on the brass’ elasticity or ductility. Thinner metals can be stretched/deformed easier and can also spring back faster than a thicker piece of brass. Federal, blazer and win brass are thinner compared to CBC, GFL, Xtreme and other headstamps. I sort my brass and even with the same headstamps, there is still variation in COA but it’s very minimal. The different length of the brass also affects the seating of the brass itself especially on progressive presses. Even Dillon’s instructions tell us to make sure all the different stations (sizing and powder) has brass in them to get consistent COL. There’s a big difference in COL if you seat a bullet with the other two stations empty compared to when there is brass in them.
