  1. Any good ballistic app should be able to calculate that. Strelok is nice because it superimposes your reticle of choice over the target showing holds.
  2. Larger matches have a chronograph stage. If there isn't a chrono its the honor system.
  3. If you're already using kydex in other divisions why not just buy one for SS? Plenty out there, and no disadvantage other than a few bucks. Heck a WTB in the classifieds may turn one up for cheap. Unless you have some compelling reason to go leather it would seem the disadvantages far outweigh the advantages.
  4. As long as it fits in the box you're ok. For my small hands, I tried the paddle but found it rubbed when shooting making it uncomfortable. I ended up with the same set up as my limited gun, standard length threaded with the Dawson low pro button. Height adjustment is available to solve mag issues, not reach issues.
  5. Do the "failures" pass a plunk test in your barrel? Because the barrel is the only gauge that really matters. If you haven't changed anything on your reloading setup and the ammo has been working it would imply the case gauge is undersized for whatever reason.
  6. And you kept videoing. Funny stuff, and hopefully you suffered no damage during the tumble.
  7. +1 It's a little smokey with coated bullets and shoots hot (long practice sessions can be hard on fiber optic rods). But, it's reasonably priced, meters well and usually available.
  8. I don't disagree, but Adam has posted a ton of good info here and on YouTube. I can understand him not wanting to start a kerfuffle by naming his preference on a public forum. Usually best to not ruffle any more feathers than needed. What would you do with the info anyway unless you're building your own?
  9. Are you on their email list? I get what seems like daily sales. They rotate through calibers and periodically throw out a free shipping sale.
  10. Series 70/80 described here https://forums.1911forum.com/showthread.php?t=15201 It's just more parts to get in the way, and some feel it makes for a worse trigger feel. There is a part available to delete them.
  11. Don't overlook a low mileage used pistol from any of the well known reputable smiths. Another option would be the CK Arms pistols. Pretty sure shooters connection is a stocking dealer. If I didn't already have one that's the direction I'd go.
  12. There's a link in the first post of this thread. [emoji41]
  13. I added one and wouldn't do it again. Much better if you need that added capacity/speed to sell the 550 (or keep it for small batches) and go 650. Mine has taken near constant fiddling and I didn't gain much if any speed. Not worth it at all in my opinion.
  14. 124/125 gr bullet with TG depends a little on OAL and if it is plated/jacketed or coated. Somewhere in the mid to high 3.x should get you to minor. As an example I use 125 gr coated at 1.1" and 3.7 gr of TG. Lots and lots of loads listed in the 9mm/38 reloading forum. Minor with that weight and TG is pretty popular.
  15. Some guns don't like plated bullets. Others don't like light bullets. You might try some 124 gr top quality bullets either Montana gold or similar. If it won't shoot those then a call to STI would be next.

You can buy direct from tandemkross and volquartsen. With the aid of YouTube even someone like me who is all thumbs can do it in about an hour.
  17. Some others to look at are the Doctor, Vortex and leupold DP PRO.
  18. For what it's worth I have the RMR05G dual illumination. For me, I find that the bigger dot is easier to pick up. It's still fine enough for USPSA, but longer ranges/smaller targets might be easier with a smaller dot. I went with the dual illumination as it can be used for HD as well. For a pure game gun, there are dots with bigger windows for less money. Is this going to be a pure game gun, or multi-purpose?
  19. Did somebody say fumbled reload? BTDT, and yes it cost me some much needed match points. The video however is quite numerous to watch. Thankfully the mutterings are PG rated. Nice run Ryan! And thanks again for ROing. It was a good match.
  20. I'm guessing because he doesn't like the idea of sweeping everyone with the muzzle of his PCC while it sits horizontally in the racks. Maybe I'm dense, but when I hear cart I think of converted strollers. When in racks the long gun is mostly vertical. To get it out pick up on the stock and the barrel is pointed at the ground. In the racks it has a chamber flag.
  21. Muzzle down in a scabbard is what I would do. Strapped to the side of my cart. My question was more about wether that would be considered cased because the rules say cased guns must be uncased pointing at a berm. I would consider a scabbard more of a holster or rack than a case but that's just my opinion. If you have a cart why use a scabbard and not the atv racks? Atv racks would seem to be a much simpler solution.
  22. Here is what the OP is referring to. It isn't a magwell in the traditional sense. More a permanent plug. http://southpawcustom.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=2:sevigny-speedway&catid=2:services&Itemid=4
  23. Lone wolf will ream it, you'll need to send several dummy rounds.
