  1. Evidently my Google-fu is failing me today. I'm looking for a cover that fits over the ear band on my Howard Leight Impacts. Anyone have a source, or know what they are called? Like these http://www.octactical.com/HearingProtectionCovers.html except in stock.
  2. Back in December I ordered a G19 as it appeared it was in stock. A few days later I received notification that the item was ready to ship and they needed my FFL info, but never received shipping confirmation. When I inquired I was told that it was a "clerical error" and the item wasn't in stock. Still waiting....... Needless to say, I won't order from them again.
  3. I placed an order for a case of 124 gr JHP on 2/2 and received my shipment notification yesterday. With any luck this in conjucntion with what I have previously stashed away will allow me to shoot all the events I want to this year.
  4. Whew, glad I saw this thread. I've been waiting for these to come back in stock. Now if only PV would get some CCI spp in, or at least start accepting back orders in I would have a little of each in reserve....
  5. Like others have said, the communication and shipping were prompt. This is about as inexpensive as pmags as you will find. I ordered a few and will likely order a few more in the near future. Good deal, and thanks to the op for sharing!
  6. Another 5 plus 1. One club where I shoot has some extra long stages. Another does some odd arrays such that you wind up leaving a lot of partially used mags behind rather than shoot to slide lock. You could likely get by with 4+1 but why?
  7. Are the muzzle brake and gas block pinned? The muzzle devise may just be threaded on. The gas block may also be held on by a set screw. I know they are on my Frankenstein rifle, but it was home built. Just a thought before you start hacksawing away. If you google free float hand guard there is some good info on YouTube and in the ar15 forum.
  8. The "home" range is 30-40 minutes away, so I only go once a week tops. Matches are anywhere from that drive up to 2 hours away. But - if you are willing to take on the drive you can shoot a match almost every weekend, and thats just USPSA. Throw in other matches and it could get expensive. Unfortunately my work schedule rotates, so one month I shoot almost every weekend at a match, and then the next not so much as I'm at work. To your original question - I'd join where you have the most opportunity to practice what you need to. My "home" range action bays are very busy so it is tough to get one. I've considered switching to one ~90 min away as it is much nicer and has more opportunity to get an action bay.
  9. Just registered this morning. Email confirmation came back promptly.
  10. This is a pretty good example of why some matches in my area finish by noon and some aren't over by dinner. Really what's at stake during a local match other than bragging rights? Based on what I can see above, even those who are arguing otherwise get the intent of this based on the description. Shoot each target once, reload and shoot again. Could the description be better? Yes. Is it worth getting all worked up over? No. The whole idea here is to have fun (while being safe of course). I'd like shooting with Steven C as a RO. Some of the others posting here would make for a long day as the group debated and debated and debated.
  11. As much as I dislike wal-mart they have the 100 count federals for ~$23 which is a little better that the prices posted above. They usually have 7 1/2 and 8 shot.
  12. I've been digging into this myself and it breaks down to Remington vs Savage. I'm not sure there is a right answer. I've owned several pre-accutriger Savages and while they weren't pretty they shot well right out of the box. Personally, that's the way I'm leaning, though Remington has much to be said for it. There is a lot of good information on this subject out there. Google long range shooting or try Demigod, LLC, Snipers Hide etc.
  13. Faced with the same dilemma I've just been using an all purpose duffle. The tool totes look like they would hold up well but are just as expensive as the midway range bags.
  14. There hasn't been much availability of 223/40/9 locally for some time now. Online availability has been better but the price keeps rising. There are some ok deals out there but you have to keep on top of it.
