  1. We moved from NY to FL three years ago - I loaded everything in my van and we drove down
  2. I'd order 500 of each, and try them - see which works best in your new MPX ... Just a thought for you - when I have different loads for different guns, I use different bullets to make it easier to keep them straight , e.g. my 9mm Minor gun uses 147 gr bullets, and my 9mm Major gun uses 124 gr bullets. Real easy to tell them apart, even if they get mixed up in my shooting bag
  3. What's a NAS3 casing ? This might be better off in the "Reloading" section, BTW
  4. But you learned a great deal about yourself, and what NOT to do next time. Great learning experience, even thought it didn't seem like it, at the time.
  5. I love them also Wish there were more Guess there aren't many because there's no M vs M Assoc. We have IDPA, USPSA, etc etc, but no M vs M. That might be the big reason ???
  6. I used to travel 2 1/2 hours to get to a match on Saturday, and then 2 hours in a different direction to get to a Sunday match. Now that I'm 73 years old, I get tired if I drive two hours - fall asleep during the match. Once I had to stop, pull over, and take a nap on the way home - and I was only 68 then My wife suggested I rent a motel room near the shoot the night before, and be fresh in the a.m. BUT, that seemed a bit excessive to me - so I only did it twice.
  7. I believe it was Einstein who once said that "miles are relative", or something to that effect .... A mile in Wyoming, is MUCH different than a mile in BosWash.
  8. Simple solution : Move to Florida
  9. Damn T-Rex's are the primary reason I switched from carrying a 9mm to a heavily loaded .45. Just not enough stopping power in the 9mm
  10. There's a shoot every Sat and Sun at Central Florida R&P, right near the Orlando airport. The Kel-Tec factory is up on the East Coast. What dates are you here ? What hotel are you staying in ?
  11. I remove the spacer pins and feed one case at a time. If there's a better way, I'm all ears (that don't work very well)
  12. Have you tried overlubricating (is that a word?) the gun ? Run it very wet and see if that helps
  13. GM is NOT a "humble goal" .... I would think that getting an A card in one year, might be possible. To me, learning to shoot BETTER than I shoot now, is a realistic goal. Do you have a copy of any book on dry firing ? I'd suggest if you're very serious (you seem to be) then I'd start with a LOT of dry firing. To improve to a A level, you probably need more live fire than once/week. And you definitely will improve exponentially after more than two matches. Your progress isn't bad - matter of fact, it's pretty good. It's your EXPECTATIONS that are unrealistic, from the little I've seen .... Relax, practice more, hit another dozen matches, and then set a more realistic goal. Most of us will NEVER hit A, much less M or GM. Practice, shoot and enjoy the ride - you will definitely improve - which is the main goal of shooting Good luck with it.
  14. I've actually made ALL of the mistakes mentioned above over the past decade - that's how I compiled this list - The Hard Way. No ear muffs, no mag, unloaded mag, dot not turned on, etc etc etc. Gotta go over everything, every time - make sure it's all there
  15. Why would you want to change that .... No, it's NOT normal, and YES you "need to do something to stop this". It's Very Unsafe. I wouldn't shoot it again until you, or a qualified gunsmith, fixed it. Good luck with it - stay safe
  16. I don't remember breakfast (hope I ate), and you expect me to remember which century I was in Edmonton ? HINT: The population of Edmonton was 250,000 back then
  17. Fortunately, we have all learned that more practice and experience usually solves most of these little problems. 59.86% is pretty good. Good luck getting to 69.86%
  18. Edmonton or Calgary ? (I lived in Edmonton from 1959-1960)
  19. I thought .380 brass was a problem - this looks worse
  20. As you said, it's a little "clumsy", but to be expected after a long layoff. It will come with more practice/ dryfire. Looked like a C shooter, to me.
  21. Sounds like you need to make an adjustment to your belt and possibly the locking mechanism. And, as Paulie mentioned, much more practice with a heavier gun You'll get used to it, and LOVE it.
  22. Excellent post, Logis Extremely valuable - instead of just complaining that the JM is unreliable, you broke it down very simply, yet thoroughly ... Wish I were "handy" enough to make all those changes to a JM ....
  23. Been there, done that Gotta keep few extra batteries (and other things) around during matches. Can't have too many things ...
  24. If I were a Glock guy, I'd start with the Glock. You are more familiar with it. I wouldn't make ANY modifications to it - just go and shoot it at a match or three. As you become more familiar with the game, and get a chance to talk to other shooters and see what they have, you might change your mind and add mods or even guns. Don't rush into it. Just start shooting (a LOT), and have fun.
