  1. Never a good idea in USPSA .... Full speed ahead Shoot deliberately, but everything else is FAST.
  2. Don't forget, FMJ's are NOT fully jacketed (the base is exposed lead). Don't ask how I learned that one
  3. Run faster, and don't stick your pistol thru the port - stand back just a little bit Nice shooting ....
  4. I don't take a chance .. I never clean my barrel .. just in case ....
  5. The other advantage is that you are Very Familiar with the platform. I'd stick with Glocks for $500 and see if you want to change next year
  6. Where do you get 170 gr bullets ? Pls let us know what results you have with them - very interesting Little over 740 fps ? stable ? accurate ? feed okay ?
  7. Are you resizing with an undersized die ? I wasn't
  8. Wow, never heard that before. I'll have to eat a bag of potato chips and see if my tinnitus is worse (be worth it)
  9. Hi, from a former Edmonton resident
  10. Every time you change the bullet (not just the weight, but also the make) you have to run The Plunk Test and might have to lengthen or shorten the OAL. Possible the builder was using a different brand bullet ? All the evidence you provided above seems to support the notion that a shorter OAL will really help
  11. Have you tried a slightly longer, or shorter, OAL ?
  12. If it feeds, and is accurate, there is now problem. Lots of times, a little crimp in a semi-auto will cause either malfunctions or inaccuracy, or both You shouldn't need "crimp" to solve bullet setback - that's a matter of neck tension, which can be addressed with an undersized sizing die - then you don't need a "crimp".
  13. I can relate. I'm married almost 49 years, and I know that if my wife had ever left me, I would have been "destroyed". Very sorry to hear about your problems - of course, it will all work out for the better, eventually, but that's a LONG time from now. As Stuck mentioned, Very Important to remain a large part of your childrens' life. They really NEED YOU, terribly. They are more destroyed than you are - only YOU can keep them together. And, you will never see, or hear, from your kids how much they need you - they might even think they hate you for the divorce - but, they don't. They do Love You, and Need you Very Much Good luck with the long journey ahead.
  14. Just get more rounds down range ... it will all work out. Bet you haven't fired too many rounds, in total ????
  15. Better than me leaving a Twinkie empty container in my range bag, left it on the ground, and it completely filled with ants - millions and millions as Carl Sagan used to say (Don't dare tell me he said Billions)
  16. While you're running The Plunk Test, don't forget to make sure the OAL isn't too long to feed thru your mag. Doesn't do you any good to have 200 rounds that will fit your chamber, but NOT your mag
  17. By "size", do you mean height or diameter ? For diameter, I like the 0.08" FO front sight
  18. Don't forget to run The Plunk Test, with the new RMR bullets, in your gun with your mag
  19. That's contrary to everything I've read and experienced. I like heavy (147 gr) bullets in 9mm Minor with a FAST Powder - And, I've read that heavy .40 Major bullets with Fast powder is The Way to Go .... I use the slow powders for 9mm Major in Open, with a comp.
  20. What experience does he have shooting ?
  21. Hey, Atomic, you can send me all the stuff you want ...
  22. I'm going to have to move to Saratoga or York ....
  23. Why not ? Were 124 gr bullets more enjoyable ?
