  1. Probably produced by a British film crew Getting a lot of British and Canadian films on the telly lately.
  2. I drop into the barrel only the ones I want to make sure don't FTF. If a match is important to me (I can't even imagine vying for first place, but that would be pretty important to me), I PLUNK Every Round into the chamber of my gun (barrel out). If it is a little close, a little sticky, I put that round into the practice pile. 100% of my rounds for an important match slip and slide Very Easily thru my chamber BTW, I also check Every Round for high or missing primers.
  3. Sounds like a true story. Heard they ate some 10,000 year old frozen (of course) wooly mammoths, Won't tell you how it ends
  4. Hypothetically speaking, when I moved down to Florida, I MIGHT have packed some ammo and reloading supplies in boxes and sealed them tight for the moving company to deliver to me. AND, it's conceivable that the movers might have informed me that they located some of these contraband items, when they delivered them to my new home. They were not, hypothetically speaking, real pleased .... And, they just might have mentioned that there are rules/regs against such a hypothetical event (I think I might be watching President Donald too much on t.v. lately - matter of fact, I KNOW darn well I've been watching him too much). But, I know a lot more double speak than I used to know.
  5. Unfortunately, the flame from my pants has burned my nose
  6. Let's be honest - there are only three divisions : 1. OPEN 2. Limited 3. Production AND then all the rest aren't 10% .... Yes, revolvers and SS are DEAD. Let's bury them and get on with it.
  7. True dat BUT, I use a SDB and 9mm brass is too inexpensive for me to sit and swage 10,000 pieces of brass. Maybe if I had a 1050 .....
  8. All from the ground I have long been an idiot savant. Drop a box of toothpicks, and I'll tell you in a flash how many toothpicks fell on the floor .... (Actually, I merely counted the number of boxes of 1,000 primers). HINT: There were 30 boxes.
  9. I've been loading 9mm Major for the past 11 years with Range Brass (anything that isn't crimped), and have had only three problems in 30,000 reloads
  10. The Plunk Test is done with the Barrel. Did you test the cartridges before the match using a gauge ? Or, your barrel ?
  11. Always BEST to start low and work up, with a chronograph. Some guns have short throats and need to be loaded shorter - loading .40 Major might involve using some loads that are above max
  12. I travelled 300 miles to a match right after having my local gunsmith install a FO front sight. It blew off early in the first stage
  13. I switched from Open to Limited for 2-3 years Took me at least an hour of concentrated practice between sessions. But, I was a B shooter, Senior. Talked to a 40 year old M shooter, and he had no trouble going back and forth. Probably depends on YOU.
  14. Plot is getting thicker Now we have five people who have measured no temp sensitivity with WAC ....
  15. Never heard of it - when we came down to Florida from New York, guess we must have had a Non-Binding estimate, because after they loaded all our stuff (no gun stuff) onto the truck, they wanted another $1,000 since we "went over weight". Believe it's a game they play - I should have called his bluff and told him to take my stuff off his truck. But, we did compromise and it didn't cost me an extra $1,000
  16. Can you order, bulk, on-line, and have them ship it to you ? Or, a local club member ?
  17. Most 3-gun have shots over 200 yards, and the 9mm can't compete. With a good compensator, adjusted properly, most people can fire the .223 faster than a 9mm, also
  18. At 73 years of age, I've ALMOST given up on black powder . There's nothing quite as thrilling as the smell of black powder in the chilled morning air, and the pungent smoke twirling around my head after each shot. And, now that they've invented 6-shot revolvers, it's even more fun ....
