Audifn
This looks like a ton of fun, I may send in an app just for shits and giggles. Shooting is always fun, but if they combine it with something really physical (more than run 10 steps) That would be awesome. For those of you going to apply, make sure you go to the pilgrim website and read the full entry details. one part of the applicant process is you actually have to make a interview video that meets all their criteria. Jim Norman
I thought about it. If I were to pass the first round (Not a big chance there, but hey.) I could get the 4-6 days no problem, but if I were somehow selected I can't see getting away for a month. If I could do that I'd take a month off to travel the country and shoot a couple matches out in the west and south west. How many of us that are here can afford to take 4-5 weeks off even if the lodging, transport and food are paid for? It isn't only money it is the time away form the company that is tough. want2race
I purchased an additional week of vacation so I have 5 weeks to play with. Not sure how they'll feel about me taking all of it in one shot, but I'll cross that bridge should it land in front of me.

benos
It will be interesting to see what the courses of fire are, and how they are weighed to determine the "top shot." Beside Jerry, Doug Koening and Mike Voigt come to mind. All three are fantastic shots with every type of firearm. be
want2race
I'd like to see a course of fire that includes, parachuting out of an aircraft at 1000 feet AGL then engage targets on the ground while under canopy.

Better yet, engage 6" plates from a low flying aircraft with a S&W 642. Chris
CHA-LEE
I find it hard to believe that a 3-Gun specialist wouldn’t dominate this shows competition. If I had any competence in anything other than pistols I would throw my hat into the ring. But not having competition experience in rifle or shotgun is a huge disadvantage. Or at least I think so. The other factor has been stated by others. You would need extensive time off to participate in this competition. Not many people other than current professional shooters would have the ability to take a large chunk of time off (a month or more) to attend this competition. Not many people have the flexibility in their work or finances to put their full time job on hold for a month. Especially in this economy.
Toolguy
How many people on here make $100,000 a year, much less in 4 or 5 weeks?
-JQ-
I have to throw my hat in. Someone has to represent the non-LEO, non-MIL, non-PRO, computer-nerd type. And after all they always need someone to be the loser...maybe they'll have enough long gun to keep me in for a second round...and there's always luck. Go nerds! So what happens if you are gone for 4 to 5 weeks filming this show and you don't come out on top to win the $100K? Does 2nd place get anything?...how about 3rd? I think if you skipped out for 4 to 5 weeks of working at a real job that pays let's say $50K a year, well, your $50K/yr job ain't gonna be there for ya when you get back. Like I said, I don't have the personality for it. I am too curmodgeonly, too pessimisstic, and too cynical. But I do have a pretty face. If it is more like a reality based TV show, then how do I know that in post production editing, that clips of me wouldn't get spliced together to make me look like a schmuck? Hey, that was gonna be me From the press-release it sounds like there will be "shooting" with a variety of projectile weapons and I'm not sure how skilled some of the best 3-gunners are with (cross)bows/slingshots/cannons/blowguns/muzzleloaders/ or whatever they come up with for the show.
