Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I just switched to this method - primary loaders in front of the holster, grab with weak hand. There's a lot less wasted movement than weak hand going behind the centerline, and I don't even need to clear my vest that far.
  2. Please forward me any info on the Cameron Cup, email is caleb@gunnutsmedia.com
  3. That would be difficult, since I live in Seattle now. I have both the 21SF and the Gen4, I prefer the Gen4 because it has the slightly larger mag release. According to Glock, the size of the grip is the same on the Gen4 and the 21SF, with the difference being that you can make the grip on the Gen4 larger if you want to. I stipple all my Glocks, so the texture is roughly the same.
  4. I've been running a Gen4 Glock 21 for some time now, but it's only around 3k rounds. So far, no issues. The dual recoil spring system seems to be working pretty well, although I'll likely change it out for an adapter and a steel guide rod in the near future.
  5. I've honestly never thought of doing it that way with the strong hand only stuff. I usually shoot left to right because with two hands I'm faster moving towards the right than vice versa.
  6. You bet - this was originally filmed for an episode of IDPA.tv, but got cut because the weird "blam" noise from the gun.
  7. RE: the barrel - it's actually a forced perspective trick, I'm not even touching the barrel on string 3 of stage 3, but the way the camera is positioned it looks like I am. Plus, the muzzle blast of the MIGHTY .45 ACP makes it run in terror.
  8. I haven't always done that; I used to prefer to go around the right side. But I've spent so much time practicing with my left foot forward and weight biased in that direction that it's now easier for me to draw to that position and then transition to the right side after the load.
  9. The question though is would it be illegal to modify a 10 round Glock mag to only hold 9 rounds? It'd be pretty easy to set up an online storefront and sell them as "custom 9 round Glock mags for IDPA" and then I'm the manufacturer.
  10. -3 on stage 1, -6 on stage 2, and -7 on stage 3. I should have been better on stage 2. Also, I'm not sure what you mean by "moving the barrel to shoot".
  11. The problem is it's easy to get away with that with a 1911 in 9mm, but everyone knows a Glock should be loaded with 10 rounds. I had a dude try to give me a procedural for downloading my G21 until I explained I was shooting CDP.
  12. I set up a pseudo-classifier last night to see how I've progressed. When I went for 5-gun master in 2010, I shot the classifier all the time. Then in 2011 I didn't shoot it all, because I was pretty burned out on it. My best time from spending hours practicing the classifier was 86.08 in 2010. This isn't an actual classifier because the target heights are wrong, but everything else was correct. Total time: 86.84, and I shot it cold. I arrived at the range, set it up, and got to work shooting it. No warm ups. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CLPHLC3iKKY Some thoughts: apparently firing 30,000+ rounds in 2011 did make me better, because there's no way I could have done this a year ago.
  13. My Glock 34 is already condemned to ESP anyway due to the awesome stippling job it has on it, so I might as well...
  14. So you can read minds now?
  15. If someone made 9 round magazines for the Glock 34, I'd buy the hell out of them specifically for IDPA. Actually, I wonder if I could convert my 10 rounders to 9 rounders...
