4 hours later I finish my review of this thread.....

We NEED a B.E.Server to host B.E.Forum photos. Lots of good information is lost forever when individual photos are lost/deleted when photo accounts are closed...

This particular thread has a wealth of information.

On the another forum, you can load pictures directly on the server as attachments or into a gallery(same software as BENOS), however even with notices at the top of each forum, MANY people still like to hot link, so becomes a moderation nightmare, usually we will delete with reasons why, or if not to many, some moderators will just download and put back as an attachment, doesnt take that long.

But with everything how to change peoples mindsets, for them its just as easy to hotlink as they are already uploaded to an external sight, than keeping them on their own computer.

Another point to consider is the size of the pictures, some I have seen are over 4MB in size, and have huge resolutions, so again need to resize back to 1280 x 1024 or 1024 x 768 or 800 x 600. So they can fit into the screen without scrolling in all directions.

Also I have noticed that with hotlinked images especially from photobucket they take forever to load.

Cheers ....

2 years ago I decided to convert a 10' x 11' section of my 3 car garage into a reloading/gun room. I chose the corner so I only had to build out 2 walls. There was also a heating and air plenum nearby so the room is climate controlled :). I added electrical and 2 individually controllable sets of track lighting (one dedicated over the presses) and one over the bench. CATV is run to the room in case I decide to add a TV and the door is tied into our central alarm system.

This spring I added a countertop work area to the room and moved my craftsman workbench to another part of the garage. When I built the support for the countertop I made sure to leave room underneath for 5 gallon bins, which I use to transport stuff to 3gun matches. The MDF shelves underneath added a ton of storage space.

The materials to complete the walls was about $400 and the countertop project was about $300. So for about $700 I got a great reloading room!

Much of the insipration for the room and countertop came from this thread so I thought I would post some pictures in hopes that it helps someone visualize what is possible.

Uh, where's your water heater going? :D

Right side above the bench-tankless.

SMART! I was just about to suggest that. I dumped my tank for a commercial grade tankless 3 years ago, and I won't ever go back to a tank-based system.... with one exception. I MIGHT do a tank-based solar PRE-heater system that would be all in the attic. That way the on-demand heater wouldn't kick in if the solar system had sufficiently hot water.

After reading all 49 pages (seriously!) I may as well join in! This will be changing in the near future to a be less of a mess and more of a laboratory! I found the Acro Bin setup at Menards on sale at $29.

Hey all, been looking at some of the ideas in this thread to see what I can come up with. I just ordered my 650 from Brian, very awesome guy to deal with. That said, I'm in a unique position for reloading in regards to space. I'm in an apartment so my mounting options are a bit more limited. I could get a heavy bench up here but the downside is that I can't move it out of the way if I need more space. I also need to get it into and out of my apartment (once I move out into a house eventually).

I had brought this idea up at the folks at XDtalk and they gave me this idea. Use one of these:

http://www.harborfreight.com/universal-bench-grinder-stand-3184.html

and mount a piece of plywood or some other sturdy wood on top of it, then countersink bolts of the press onto it to secure it to the wood, with some C-clamps. I can counterbalance it with some weighs, like a cinderblock, or magnets.

That said, suggestions? Improvements? Alternatives?

I'm amazed and humbled by all the motivated people squeezing every inch of space they could for reloading!

What does everyone think about pinning a topic just for "plans"?

Just thought I'd throw my bench design into the mix ... using the carriage bolts and the "fake" lap joints makes the bench solid, but easily to disassemble. The design breaks down into a 1 pc top, 2 end leg units, and 2 foot rails.
