leam
Given that I'm a D class shooter, have been for years, and don't see that changing, is there any reason not to run my P320 9mm in "A fudgecicle nobody but a few crayon chewers and winder likkers want" vs Production? The main thing would be more rounds per mag.

Me neither, since the software decided to change the title without asking me. When I tried to edit it to ""A fudgecicle nobody but a few crayon chewers and winder likkers want" vs Production" it said that topic isn't allowed. My apologies for whatever happened, if I can figure out how to remove the thread, I will.

RJH
So if the point of this thread is, should you just shoot your p320 in lim since you're never going to practice enough to get out of d-class and anything anyway, then sure go for it, nobody cares. There's some diehards in the sport but most of the people are just out having fun anyway, do what makes you have the most fun and don't worry about it Edited November 14, 2021 by RJH Cause it changed Lim it ed to some crap
leam
The title was about a non-major PF with the L word; basically running Production 9mm with a full mag. From the (Sep 2021) rulebook, Appendix D2, lines 2 and 4 would apply.
NoSteel
Do you shoot a high % A zone hits in production? Limited will force you to get your A zone hits shooting minor if you want to finish well in the division. You will get the advantage of adding base pads to 140 length and having more rounds so the “fun factor” goes up if your just looking for fewer reloads Edited November 14, 2021 by NoSteel

Last month's match was the first I've shot in years, and I had the highest A hits of everyone in the match. I still didn't meet my "mental game" goal the entire match, but kept it for while. Racinready300ex
If you've been stuck in D class for years moving to A fudgecicle nobody but a few crayon chewers and winder likkers want is probably a good move. Major is more for if you're concerned with beating others.
UpYoursPal
If you're D class then there are zero expectations for your performance so just go out and have fun. Go shoot your non-major gun in limited and get all your window-licking enjoyment out of it.

dlaroe
Do it, eliminating a good reload won't make a difference but eliminating a bad one will. I had great fun shooting a Limited qualifier with an IPSC Production spec gun with full mags and a slightly heavier trigger. Ended up classing exactly the same as I did in Production despite reloading half as much.

Yep .... I was just posting in a production thread ... AND ... wrote something like "why don't they just shoot l i m i t e d m i n o r" as the last sentence (also w/o the spaces). It inserted the same text so I suspect someone doesn't want that phrase entering discussion for some reason.

Jim Watson
Amazing. It now appears that unless you are shooting the Right Gun in the Right Division at the Right Power Factor at a high level and bitching about having to reload every once in a while if you should grace Production with your three pound gun and lead flashlight, you are a mere "participant" worthy only to pay entry fees to bolster the prize table for the "competitors."
