Shootymacshootface
Like the old funny car vs top fuel dragster debate, which would come out on top on the same uspsa course of fire? The pistol should be faster shooting around corners and negotiating tight spaces, but the pcc has better pointability and no reloads. Link to comment
HoMiE
I’d say at most typical matches Open beats PCC. Stretch out target distance and PCC has advantage. Link to comment

zzt
In SCSA PCC is definitely faster than Open pistol. It is generally the other way around in USPSA. Link to comment

BiggMike
Open is definitely faster but with PCC the shots are easier if that makes any sense. Edited March 2, 2019 by BiggMike Link to comment
Shootymacshootface
It sounds like it could go back and forth depending on course design. Some of the pistol shooters must get annoyed when they lose fastest time of the day to a pcc. Link to comment

Usually open guns win, but not always and being happy that you beat a pistol with a rifle is about as gay as being happy that you beat a limited gun with an open gun Link to comment
Aircooled6racer
Hello: Around here the PCC usually is on top unless some top GM open shooters show up. We have some top PCC GM's here as well as some of the Top GM Open shooters so that is a good judge. Thanks, Eric Link to comment
Shootymacshootface
Thanks guys, I can't wait for the season to start around here (north east). My only pcc experience so far has been some small venue 3gun and a couple of steel challenge matches. I'm looking forward to shooting in some uspsa matches this year. Link to comment

bigboredad
It would seem it all depends what is pulling the trigger. I mean pressing the triggerSent from my SM-T377V using Tapatalk Link to comment

hlpressley
I would say whichever one the better shooter is shooting on that particular day. Same shooter? I’d say the one that he has practiced with the most. Link to comment

RAINY0DAYS
I'm pretty sure that if you scored PCC as major, the PCC would win.Sent from my moto x4 using Tapatalk Link to comment
rowdyb
Stage dependent as much as shooter dependent. Link to comment
Racinready300ex
Depends. The rifle is going to be easier to learn to hit the targets, so newer shooters will do better with a pcc then they do with any open gun. Link to comment
S&W686
At our local matches we will shoot the match two times. I will shoot PCC for the first shoot and Open for the second. In most cases I place higher with Open mainly because of the major power factor points. As far as time there pretty much the same. Link to comment
hlpressley
But Alphas are 5 points no matter the power factor, right? So...just shoot Alphas! Link to comment
Aircooled6racer
Hello: If you through in Carry Optics with a fast GM he may beat both the PCC and the Open pistol guys. That has been done quite a bit also. Thanks, Eric Link to comment
NervousEnergy
I'm in DFW, so we have a pretty big shooting community and matches several times a week year-round. In larger USPSA club matches (60+ people) where the top GM Open shooters always come out to play the top PCC shooters rarely crack the top 5. From A on down PCC dominates, of course, since getting hits is easier. At the lofty GM Open level, though, where guys and gals seemingly just wave the pistol around and holes pop in A zones everywhere the faster transition speed plus major scoring is decisive. The Minor vs. Major scoring was the difference. If a CO shooter beats Open, they are not of equal ability Edited March 5, 2019 by Balakay Link to comment
