  1. Appreciate you posting this cautionary tale. Certainly not an easy thing to post. Again, best wishes for full recovery, Broncman.
  2. Right handed spinning left after the draw?
  3. Oh geez that suuuuucks. Your tough I'll give you that, Broncman. Hope your toes/foot won't require surgery. Best wishes for a speedy fix & recovery..

  5. I disengage (thumb stays on) after the muzzle clears the holster, but is pointed low and downrange on the way up... well before my support hand comes on. Trigger finger stays along the frame/trigger guard until both hands get full extension to the target. I prematurely launched a few embarrassingly poor initial hits when I reached full extension by punching out aggressively with my trigger finger in place. BANG ? Hit the IPSC target, but not exactly where I wanted! Don't believe that would happen these days as I'm much smoother, but it is already deeply ingrained to keep off the trigger and place my finger deliberately.
  6. Increase flare so that you can just start the bullet base into the flared brass. Seat & crimp in separate steps. For Hi-Tek coated bullets, crimp should generally be about a 1/2 turn or so down (often less) once contact with the case mouth is made.
  7. I have been a fan of STI products, but they need to refocus. Dave assisting STI is a good thing for STI. I am pleased to hear this news.
  8. Your quite welcome! I like Wolff and ISMI.
  9. No issues with any of mine, but good to know Tripp took great care of you. Thanks for posting the follow up.
  10. Do it. I shoot 171PF with 12 lb recoil and a 19 lb MS, works great. Most folks are using 12's & 13's for 180gr Major.
  11. A light viscosity full synthetic grease on the rails during warm weather months has always worked well for me. Slide Glide Light works quite well. New and/or tight guns may short stroke with grease or tend to stumble in colder weather, so keep it in mind.
  12. It may just be a shadow on the viewers right side of the dovetail, but you should measure it before you order anything anyway. Para was notorious for inconsistent dovetail sizing.
  13. Going with 0.2 - 0.4gr too, based on when I reworked jacketed load over to Hi-Tek coated oversize or vice versa.
  14. Good to know what Cameron Hopkins thinks. Vote for somebody else. Maybe we can all get participation trophys?
  15. Rated spring # should be: 1.625” for Gov't length & 1.125” for Commander length
  16. What a mess! Seems like the primers are firing enough to stick a bullet, but not igniting the powder charge. Since you seem certain of the powder itself. Did you use an additive in the tumbling media? Are you using a case lube?
  17. Really depends on your background & lighting. Choose one that pops from the background. As far as lighting, I pick up green in much lower light than red, but that may not be the same for you. Been trying orange lately.
  18. Try some of those SNS 200's when you get em. Hope you figure it out.
  19. All new to you pistol with vastly different feel and new holster setup takes time to get used to. That one has a magnetic insert, right? One factor can throw you off... you introduced several. Give it some time & more draw practice.
  20. +1 much more flexibility. As Krym mentions, the smoothness in feeding 1911/2011's is a plus. Unlike 1911/2011 which is adapted and originally designed around a longer cartridge, the P320 was designed with a shorter factory ammo OAL. However the design can restrict powder choice for Major loads with heavy bullets.
  21. Many times the magazine will be the limiting factor. Unlike 2011's where it is possible to load 40 long, some designs will not allow it. You figured out what is necessary by loading up the mag also. Just a few rounds won't reveal whether the OAL will feed.
  22. Ain't no way I'm gonna get my gut into THAT vest. Nope. If it is that damn cold I wear Smartwool as a base layer, then a Drake Waterfowl wader jacket and run winter golf gloves. Put a shell on over that when you aren't shooting.
  23. Tough deal, very sorry to hear. Stay busy and stay positive. If you need help...ask for it. Good friends are invaluable! It is also extremely hard on your kids and they need your love & support now more than ever. Be strong and upbeat for them...and for you. Even when you don't feel it. Spend as much time with the kids as you can and you can all help each other through this difficult time. Did I mention stay busy?
  24. Really like the SG Lite, myself. Stays put and works well on all kinds of pistols. IMO, Slide-Glide is a must have for alloy framed guns. It's also good on the lugs of bolt action rifles. Great stuff!
