Primers choise

New to open loading wac and 124 gr. What primer is everyone useing other than fed they are to hard to find.

Winchester small pistol works for me as well. CCI small pistol works good to but my press don't like it as much, so that my last resort.

CCI 500 all day long. Have shot about 150K without issues in 5 different open guns.

I mostly use Winchester small pistol but also CCI small pistol when I can. Winchester seems to always be plentiful in my area.

I've been using CCI Small Pistol Magnum primers.  Have some Win Small Pistol Magnum for when I run out of CCI.

I’ve used both CCI and Winchester small pistol and both work well. I do think that the Winchester primers are a tad softer so less worry about light strikes.

cci 500 but thinking of trying the softer winchester primers since i occasionally forget to fully seat the primers when im focusing on not spilling powder lol

No rifle primers here except I have tried Federal srp.  I have used with success CCI spp, Win spp, Win spm, and tons of S&B spp.  No issues to make me avoid any of them yet.

I use Tula SRMP in 9mm, .45ACP and .223/5.56 and have never had one not fire in many, many thousands of rounds.  Only problem is, if you don't have any you can't get any - at least, at present.

CCI 500. What I started with and have no reason to try something else. I tinker too much as it is without experimenting with primers.

CCI Small Rifle Primers. Also use them in my CZ Accu Shadow 2 without issue.

I’ve been using Federal Small Rifle primers for my 9 major load with a Dawson extended firing pin in my CK.

The Dillon 650 seems to like these better than the Winchester Small Pistol primers.

Nobody has mentioned Fiocchi primers, very good primers and at good price

Tried fed small pistol magnums today. Smaller sd than the cci 500s from today, a little cleaner case after being fired and zero pressure signs. Also dropped down to 7.0 from 7.1 and hit 170pf on the nose. I also purposey didn't seat some all the way and they still went bang. Winners in my book
