David.Hylton
I transitioning from jacketed to coated bullets so I'm testing several brands. Is it normal to have blue stains on your fingers when handling blue bullets? When I loaded some test loads I noticed the blue stains on my hands whenever I handled the bullets. The stains reappeared when I loaded my magazines. I like them otherwise. Thanks, Dave
Erttactics
That is common with blue bullets, if you get a hi-tech coated bullet they do not rub off on your hands.

Smitty79
Very nice inexpensive bullets. You should wash your hands after loading anyway.

Solvability
Dave - I bought Blue Bullets on sale and like them but if the price is the same I get BBI - he is closer and the bullets get here in 2 biz days.
Solvability
Oh and watch out - you may need to adjust the seater die as different brands have different ogives that yield differences on OAL.

ItZallGooD
embrace the blue This is how my fingers look when I load. It does reappear when loading mags but not as much.
Intel6
I sling my loaded ammo in a towel with alcohol to take off the case lube and it cleans off the little bit of dust remaining so I don't get blue fingers when shooting, just loading.
techj
They're my favorite. The smell from the coating on the HyTeks bother me when I shoot indoors. Also, I don't get nearly as much smurf dust when I use my bullet feeder as a lot of the loose stuff comes off and stays in the collator.

jbecker
Yes I get the blue fingers too, but easily washes off. I do wear a rubber glove on my bullet loading hand sometimes , when I think of it before I start
BBQRibs
Mmhmm normal. After a good load session it looks like you slayed a smurf village.
valerko
Try Acme bullets. Coating is little slicker and no blue bullets. Plus it'll match to your lipstick. :)
Kletus
Statistically, I can't find much difference in the performance of the different coated lead bullets. Blues seem to be slightly more accurate for me and don't have the "hytek" smell, but you get smurf fingers. I just got in my order of 4 cases of the 180 gr, so you can tell that I'm happy with them. In the hytek coated bullets I like Bayou then ACME, then sns or bbi. I would shoot any of them though, there really is that little difference between them. All of the bullets have a slightly different ogive though, so make sure you adjust for oal, and check for proper feeding before you switch between them. MrDanCheck
The coating on the blue bullets is very thick. Thats why it rubs off. It allows you to run them in major open guns. HyTec coating can't handle the heat.. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk

Racinready300ex
I would recommend washing your hands after loading no matter what kind of bullet you use. With that in mind I don't mind if my hands get a little blue. Gloves are another good option. Or use it to justify a bullet feeder to your wife.
