ParaGunner
It's a personal preference. I've tried both and like green better.
thermobollocks
I find green stands out very well against dirt, and red/orange stands out very well against grass, so it depends on where most of your ranges are. I've read more than a few places that the eye can distinguish more types of green than any other color, and that this means green picks up faster, but personally I find contrast more useful. I am not an ophthalmologist though. I use red on my shotgun and green on my pistol, so wherever I am, one or the other is going to be not optimal Edited May 28, 2014 by thermobollocks
szhttm
I like orange myself the most. I would suggest changing colors every six months or so. Your brain starts to get use to seeing the same over and over. You will notice a huge difference when you change colors every six months or so as I suggested above. Good Luck And Be Safe!!! Butterpuc
I use red for 2 primary reasons: 1) I use Rudy Project Laser Racing Red lenses ( the red fiber optic really stands out) and 2) I don't want to be switching from a bright green sight on my pistol to a bright red dot on my rifle (when I look for a sight picture I want to see "red" no matter the shooting platform) Edited May 28, 2014 by Butterpuc
shel6977
I think I can pick up my red fiber better for outdoor shooting than the green or orange that I have also tried.
LilBunniFuFu
I've used red for as long as I can remember but I just picked up an new gun with a green tube and I feel like I pick it up faster. Maybe it is just novel but we will see how it pans out.
Nugget
I tried green, but I pick up red faster and it is also consistent with my scope and the fiber optic on my shotgun.
Rick88
100% Green for me for the front and red for the rear the perfect combo and bright as hell...but only you can decide what is best for your eyes.
chirpy
I am 67 and for my old eyes green stands out sharp and I can pick it up quickly. Red is not round and sharp like green is. Richard

Sarge
red for me as it goes real well with racing red lenses. and the green tended to blend in with grass, trees etc..
BeerBaron
I use both but favour red. didn't anyone tell you red is faster????? lol, try both. it's easy to swap around. I keep a decent amount of both types as spares.
basman
I go back and forth between green and red. It seems that when I change the new color helps me focus on the front sight!
RePete
I run green in front and red in the rear, because I can see the green better. YMMV.
SouthernGunsLLC
I've been using red for several years, tried a green rod for two practices and a match a couple months ago and couldn't get used it. I am now back to red Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Rob01
Always used red and got an STI last year with green in it. Tried using it for about 6 months but the red seemed easier and faster for me to pick up so put red in it.
jcarpenter82
Yellow glasses and green f.o. best combo ive tried so far.
BigGabe
Personally I see the red better then green. It kinda jumps out for me making it easier for me to quickly pick up the front sight.
bigkyle72
I like the red. Red fiber on pistol or red dot on open pistol, red dot on AR, red fiber on shotgun. Red all the way around.
Jaycwebb
I like Red just a little more. I've used green and yellow in the past.

blaster113
green F/O fronts on my Limited and Production guns with black rears. I can pick up red faster but the green seems a little more precise so I switched all my F/Os
GregJ
I've tried red, then green. Felt like my 57 yr old eyes picked up the green better. Then I went back to black front sight, and havent changed back. I think there are less distractions for the eye to pick up the front sight with it black rather than a F/O. Of course, YMMV
