  1. Hello: Try using the quarters first to see if you actually like the shorter stroke. I have tried different setups and actually like the longer stroke setup. I do change the JP weights and buffer spring for my 131-134PF loads using 124's. I like to be able to lock the bolt back as well. My setup is not full stroke but enough to be able to use the bolt catch. My other setup is using a AR-15 carbine buffer with a weight change. Thanks, Eric
  2. Hello: Try your 115's JHP's. 1.140" OAL, 4.0 grains Tite Group OR 4.0 grains Clean Shot, Winchester small pistol primers. That is a pretty good load for a MPX. I shot those loads in three different MPX's I had. Quick cycling and gets back on target fast. You want to be in the 138-145PF range which I found was the sweet spot for me. Thanks, Eric
  3. Hello: I did it on my grips. Dremel sanding drum and them a Cratex polishing point. Thanks, Eric
  4. Hello: I am just using the 2 MOA dot for now instead of the 35 MOA circle. I may try the circle next weekend. I am also just using it in manual setting mod so I can turn the dot up or down in brightness. Turn it full bright for close hosier stages and pin point for tight longer shot stages. I am going to try my extra one on my PCC or Ruger 10/22 steel rifle next. I am really liking the smaller dot size even in the bright sun. Only problem I have had so far was not turning it on at an IDPA match that I shot a couple of weeks ago. No sight picture in IDPA didn't help. Now I just look down when it is my holster to make sure I have it on. The sleep mod works great if you leave it on. Thanks, Eric
  5. Hello: Yes I am running a Holosun 507C with the Springer plate. The distance from the back of the slide to the top of the 507C is 0.446" where you adjust the elevation. The bottom of window is a little higher up maybe 0.020" or so. The Springer plate is 0.146" thick. Hope this helps. Thanks, Eric
  6. Hello: My 320X5 does not like 147's either. It does like 124's that are coated, plated and JHP's. I still want to try some 115's and 121's. Thanks, Eric
  7. Hello: Wrap the pistol with a couple of layers of tape. Insert in the holster and use a heat gun to heat up the holster in the area where it is tight. Use gloves and push in the holster in that area. Don't over heat it, just enough to make the holster move with firm hand pressure. Thanks, Eric
  8. Hello: You can put a bigger blob on the end of the fiber on the Dawson sight so you can pick it up easier. Also try a different color that your eye may pickup better. For me on outdoor ranges the green works the best. Inside the red works better with indoor lighting. Thanks, Eric
  9. Hello: I think it would be a pretty good platform for limited. The trigger will not be as great as a 1911/2011 trigger but with practice it will be fine. With the heavy Legion grip and possibly a tungsten grip weight, tungsten guide rod and a forward weight like the Glock guys use it would be a really heavy limited pistol. Accuracy will be good enough and some good sights you will have a good one for limited division. Thanks, Eric
  10. Hello: I can get 23 in my 21 round Sig mags with TTI base pads and stock spring/follower. I can do a reload with them with no problem. I also have one mag setup with TTI base pad and a Grams spring/follower and it holds 23 as well. It has a little extra room so it reloads a little easier. I have been told that the Sig 17 round mags with the TTI +5 base pad will hold 23 and has a little more room. On most stages now there is always a good place to reload but having 23 rounds is nice some times. Thanks, Eric
  11. Hello: The best combo I have tried is 115 grain at 138 -141PF. It cycles quick and is very accurate. I tried 147,135, 124 and kept going back to 115's. Thanks, Eric
  12. Hello: You want to use a good 124 grain bullet going 138-141PF for 100 yards or more. With my old setup I had to aim 8" high at 120 yards with a 10 yard zero at sea level. Jacketed hollow points worked the best for me with a 16" barrel. You will have to check with your scope setup and PCC. Thanks, Eric
  13. Hello: I have one open pistol here with over 80,000 round and it was mostly 9mm major and small rifle primers. Breachface looks fine. If the barrel is chambered too deep it can cause problems which I have seen on some 1911 production pistols. Thanks, Eric
  14. Hello: check with Dawson precision and see they have what you want or can make it. Thanks, Eric
  15. Hello: I see the dot on the target and pull the trigger. I can't see those small little round holes at 15 yards since my eyes are not that good and I need glasses. Shoot with both eyes open and that will help you. Thanks, Eric
  16. Hello: Did you plunk test your ammo in the barrel? It maybe an overpressure problem from a short throat in the barrel. Is the bolt going fully into battery? I have seen a JP buffer setup not allowing the bolt to go all the way forward under spring tension since the buffer tube was a little too long inside. Two thin Delrin shims behind the buffer solved the problem. Thanks, Eric
  17. Hello: Come to the monthly USPSA match at River Bend Gun Club. You will enjoy the match for sure. We have 7 stages but sometimes more. The quality of stages matches some of the best in the country or even better. $20 match fee as well. I am not sure about River Bend holding the 2020 state match since we already put on a great match with 100 or so entrants. Sorry to hear about your GA State match experience but all the clubs I have shot with around here are great. Hope to see you at River Bend Gun Club. Thanks, Eric
  18. Hello: left hand twist drill bit works well. I don't like EZ out bits since I have had to remove far too many broken EZ outs over the years that people broke trying to remove a broken/rusted screws on cars or engines. Thanks, Eric
  19. Hello: I would buy a sample pack and see how they shoot for you in your pistol. One thing I did not like about the Blue Bullets was that they are not round at least the ones I tried. They were not very accurate in my pistols. Others seem to like them but they did not work out for me. Thanks, Eric
  20. Hello: From the dozen or so slides that I have seen that have either cracked or broke a piece off where made from very granular steel. I think the problem is bad steel more than a 9mm problem. I am guessing here but I think alot of these slides are coming from the same source and then machined and called there own. Another factor maybe that more people are shooting open 9mm than ever before so there are more open pistols out there. Thanks, Eric
  21. Hello: I did not see you are thinking of the Ruger PCC. Yes, you can turn down the barrel to make it lighter. Carbon handguards will be lightest choice. You could also slot holes and lighten up some of the other parts. The stock ones I have shot all have been front heavy so that is where I would start. You don't feel the weight as much in the stock area and may help to lesson the felt recoil. Thanks, Eric
  22. Hello: Get a KAW Valley 16" barrel that is only 19ozs and a carbon fiber handguard. Anderson Sport upper, bolt with no weight. My PCC weights under 6 lbs all in. Thanks, Eric
  23. Hello: You will get more flip/dip with the heavy buffer but you could try it and see with your loads. You may have to change out the buffer spring to a lighter one. Thanks, Eric
  24. Hello: I would change out the buffer setup to something lighter. If your bolt does not have a weight installed I would go the JP route that uses just the 4 weights. Since you have the short barrel setup you should be close to pistol power factor with factory loads. If you reload I would load up some 124's to 131PF and tune the buffer. Thanks, Eric
