  1. Hello: Neither one has been messed with and are new. The one that I have been using I have done all the tricks I know how to do and even bent it a little in a vice. It is just not right at all. I am going to try a Caspian that I installed and see how it does. The bottom Aftec has a smaller hook and is not as deep and I think it is the correct one for 9mm but I am not 100% sure. I will have to dig out one of my old pistols to see which one is correct for 9mm. Thanks, Eric
  2. Hello: So I have two Aftec extractors that are new. They are both marked 9mm 38SC. Here is a pic of both of them. So which one is correct? I been having lots of problems with my new build using a Aftec extractor. I think I have the wrong one in my open pistol. I have done everything I know on how to make it work and it just is not working for me. The old Aftec's worked great but the new one I have is not giving me the warm and fuzzies. Going to try a standard extractor once it stops raining here. Let me know what you think about the ones in the pic. Thanks, Eric
  3. Hello: I have built one or two that I have used. Some other guys are shooting those now so I had to build some more. Thanks, Eric
  4. Hello: I am running 8.6 grains of HS-6 at 1.170" OAL, Winchester small rifle primers, mixed brass and a Precison Delta or Montana Gold bullets. Thanks, Eric
  5. Hello: The old ones were very good. The last ones I have used all needed tuning and are different than the old ones. This is for 9mm and 38SC. I am going back to regular extractors now. Thanks, Eric
  6. Hello: I have loaded, 147, 135,130, 125, 124, 121 and 115's over the years. My go to is 115's with HS-6 with my comp at 171-173PF and a 5.5" barrel. It shoots very flat and cycles very quick. I don't like the heavier bullets since they give me more dot rise and I find them harder on my arm and elbow. KC was using 147's in his Glock open pistols. Thanks, Eric
  7. Hello: I tried a couple of Jard setups in my AR9 PCC's. You have to run a higher trigger pull than 3.5lbs I think or you will get hammer follow or doubling. I tried my 1.5 and 2.5lb setups and could not stop them from getting hammer follow. The same trigger setups work perfectly in my AR-15's. These are great triggers but I don't think they will work for long in a PCC. Thanks, Eric
  8. Hello: Here is a pic of the firing pin stop that I modify. This one only has around 60,000 rounds or so on it. Thanks, Eric
  9. Hello: Look to see if the mags are catching on the grip nuts inside the frame. Use a Sharpie marker to mark the magazine to see where it is touching the frame or nuts. Dykem blue works well for this as well if you have any. Thanks, Eric
  10. Hello: I zero at 18 yards but know where it hits at 3-50 yards. Thanks, Eric
  11. Hello: A thing to remember is that Charlie(CHA-LEE) grips the crap out of the pistol. I have tested a bunch of comps and built a bucket full until I found what works best for me. I wanted less recoil and a dot that tracked straight up and down. My dot stays in the glass for me. I don't grip the pistol overly hard about the same as a firm handshake. I use a 5.5" barrel length with no barrel holes. I have a 9mm open pistol I am running now that has two barrel holes in line and over 60,000 rounds or so. Still shoots good with 115's. I will post some pics of the firing pin stop tomorrow. Thanks, Eric
  12. Hello: The matches at River Bend Gun Club are better than some of the Nationals I have shot in the past. Monthly matches are 7 or 8 stages for only $20. Lots of great matches around the Atlanta area every month including indoor matches all year long. Thanks, Eric
  13. Hello: Buy a EGW square firing pin stop and try it. Then start filing a radius on the corner to see what it does. I made a fixture so I can mill an angle on the firing pin stop that works very well for me. It makes racking the slide easier so it cycles quicker. Thanks, Eric
  14. Hello: When you add more holes in the barrel you are basically making the barrel shorter so you will need more powder to make power factor. Adding more powder will give you more gas but also more push into your hand and arm. I have played around with many comps over the years and also adding holes in the barrels. That is why I built my own comp to give softer shooting and flatter as well. No holes in the barrel are needed. I would play around with recoil springs and mainsprings to see what that does to your setup. Changing the firing pin stop angle does alot as well. Doing the spring changes and firing pin stop( buy a spare flat EGW one) can be done and does not screw up your current setup. Thanks, Eric
  15. Hello: I have shot both pistols and have a P320 X5 I shoot in carry optics. I have the Legion grip, stock grip, steel guide rod, tungsten guide rod and a steel and tungsten grip weight. I even tried all the heavy parts together but they make it over weight and very heavy for transitions. I also shoot 124-125 grain bullets at 131-134PF. I tried 10,11, 12.5 and 14 lb recoil springs as well. Hope this helps. Thanks, Eric
  16. Hello: I would get the regular P320 X5. Install a Gray Guns trigger and a tungsten guide rod. That combo is just as fast and I think better than the stock X5 Legion. Get some TTI base pads and a Grams spring/follower setup for the 21 round magazines. Lastly a 12.5lb ISMI 1911 recoil spring. Thanks, Eric
  17. Hello: I would go 9mm for your next open pistol. Lots of great loads for 9mm major and once fired brass is in good supply. Thanks, Eric
  18. Hello: You could always add some grip take or silicon carbide to make it grippy. Thanks, Eric
  19. Hello: I like the SRO of the two you have mentioned. Saying that I run a Holosun 507C on my regular P320 X5 right now. Lastly you may want to wait for Shot Show since I think there maybe some new stuff coming out. Thanks, Eric
  20. Hello: I would suggest you rebarrel the pistol with a bull barrel. There are more options using a bull barrel comp than a cone comp. The EGW adapter works ok but you can't go back to a bushing once you thread the bushing barrel you have. I like my comp since it does not need any barrel holes and shoots softer than any of the other comps I have tried. Thanks, Eric
  21. Hello: Look at Shooters Connection for all the stuff you need. I am using a Safariland holster, Safariland 771 pouches, Shooters Connection belt. Chuck also carries the Red Hill tactical holster and some different holster mounts as well as pouches. Shooters Connection is the best to deal with. Thanks, Eric
  22. Hello: I found the case and it is actually a Pelican 1500 case in gray. Thanks, Eric
  23. Hello: Interesting idea and looks like it would be a nice addition to the pistol for an open conversion. Maybe one with no rail setup and flat sides to bolt up a frame mounted optic. Thanks, Eric
  24. Hello: I am thinking of selling my gray Pelican case once I find it since I never use it. Thanks, Eric
  25. Hello: Does anyone know why the SRO are getting so cheap now? I have seen them as low as $429. Thanks, Eric
