  1. Hello: s#!t, more stuff to do to my damn Carry Optics pistol. It's getting to be like open now. Just kidding I like both open and carry optics divisions as well as PCC. Thanks, Eric
  2. Hello: Run some 95 or 115 grain bullets at 120-130PF and you should be good. It will be a little dirty but will wipe off easily. Thanks, Eric
  3. Hello: Get a set of Swiss files and file the groove deeper. I have done alot of filing over the years. Thanks, Eric
  4. Hello: I just have pro grip on my hands and grip for now. I am right at 44.27ozs so I may have to to give up something so I can put some tape or silicon carbide on it. I have not seen anyone yet texture the tungsten grip with an iron yet. The rain did let up but the ground was a little soupy. Tear down it was not raining. Thanks, Eric
  5. Hello: I shot my Legion grip for the first time today on my standard P320X5 at River Bend in the rain. The tungsten grip is a game changer for me. I like the way it feels under recoil and it shoots very flat with my 125 grain loads. Thanks, Eric
  6. Hello: Can you cut the notch deeper on the Legion rear sight? Have you looked into monovision glasses? Thanks, Eric
  7. Hello: For USPSA pistol matches I use 18 yards for the red dot and 7 yards for the green laser. Most of the time I shoot the laser weak hand and don't even look over the gun. I hold my arms out and put the dot on the target. This is for hard leans. Thanks, Eric
  8. Hello: Where are you testing the trigger pull from? Thanks, Eric
  9. Hello: If you are using the JP 4 weight SCS try 3 steel and 1 tungsten weight with the green spring. I am shooting 124's with Clean Shot at 131PF. It will cycle faster than I can pull the trigger. Thanks, Eric
  10. Hello: You have to balance the spring and the weights to the load you are shooting. Too much weight and it will cycle slower and hit harder. Too much spring may cause short stroking and feeding problems. Too light a spring can cause feeding problems since the bolt hits harder at the back that may cause double feeding or ammo to jump out of the magazine. If you are shooting factory ammo I would leave the setup alone or go a little heavier on the weight. If you are shooting 125PF loads I would lighten the weight and the spring so you get two bullets stacking on each other at 7 yards. Hope this helps. Thanks, Eric
  11. Hello: It should only cost about $800-$1000 with a new barrel, comp, link, link pin, and fitting it all. You may need a new extractor also or it could be tuned. Thanks, Eric
  12. Hello: I don't know what all the fuss is about an adapter plate? It is only going to raise up the dot about 1/8" or so. If you are worried about that I suggest you go out and shoot it till you get used to the dot height. Just sight in your pistol and know where it hits at different distances. Thanks, Eric
  13. Hello: I am using a Safariland holsters I got from Shooters Connection. My Carry Optics one is on the Safariland USPSA kit adapter. My IDPA type match holster is a Safariland with the belt adapter it comes with. The part number for the holster is 5196-450-411. I added the Blade Tec Tek-Lok, that required a little machine work to fit the Safariland hanger. Now I have to find some IDPA legal magazine pouches for my Sig P320 X5. Thanks, Eric
  14. Hello: I am using the stock springs with a sleeve connector to join the two springs together. Thanks, Eric
  15. Hello: Changing to one scoring platform will never happen. That would make all the Limited major guns obsolete. They would go to 9mm and shoot minor loads. I thought 3-gun was almost dead anyways. 2-gun matches are more fun. Thanks, Eric
  16. Hello: What I have seen here is that the numbers for Open have stayed about the same but Carry Optics has taken off. It has pulled people from Limited, Production and even PCC. Once they changed the magazine limited to the gauge it changed everything. 22-24 rounds with one mag change makes it easier for new shooters to learn the game. Whatever you choose to do I am sure you will love it. Thanks, Eric
  17. Hello: I am shooting Carry Optics right now and having a great time doing it. I have shot open for years and also enjoy it. They are two different divisions and two different mindsets on how to shoot. Shooting major you can give up a couple of points but in minor you need all you can get. I would stick with Carry Optics since you have all the stuff right now. When you get better and can beat some of the better open shooters then you can decide if you want to go to open. In Open you will have to reload your ammo to get the most out of the pistol. You will also need to learn how to keep your open pistol running. People think that switching to Open will make you faster quicker. That is not the case for most. It takes time to get used to the high speed game of Open. Open classifiers are done crazy fast with no points down. Shoot a classifier with your CO pistol but use Open scores and see how you do. If you want to be at the top of your club matches shoot PCC and see how you do. I also like shooting PCC so this is not a hate on PCC. Hope this helps. Thanks, Eric
  18. Hello: Are the bullets you are using seconds or pulled bullets? How clean is your barrel? You may have a build up of lead or coating that is causing problems. The exposed back of your bullets maybe causing some problems so I would try some JHP's as well. Thanks, Eric
  19. Hello: You beat me to posting about the grip weights on both. Well done. Mine weight about the same as well. Thanks, Eric
  20. Hello: You may want to buy 2 DPP's so you can send one in for repairs so you can have one that works in hand at all times. That seems to be the trend around here with the Open and Carry Optics guys. I would do some reading to see what options are out there and what is coming down the pipeline. Thanks, Eric
  21. Hello: The pistol with Holosun 507C and Springer plate, Tungsten guide rod, heavy grip with magazine with TTI base plate weights 44ozs. Thanks, Eric
  22. Hello: I just don't get why they can't fix the problem with it. I know people here that have 4 in rotation that are either coming or going to Leupold for repair. I think I would choose a better optic that would hold up better. Some of the guys have gone back to the C-More slide rides since they just seem to work and last. Maybe the SRO or Sig Max3 will be the solution but at those high prices I will be a hold out for a while. Thanks, Eric
  23. Hello: Way to much for an unproven optic that should cost around $300. I'll pass and stick with my Holosun 507C for now. Thanks, Eric
  24. Hello: I am using the Holosun 507C with adapter plate on my regular P320X5. Thanks, Eric
  25. Hello: The short stroke setup hits the shoulder harder for me even with a wave spring installed. I use a timer and hits on paper as my guide to see what works for me. I have been trying 3 different buffer setups including JP, MBX and a Blitzkrieg. Thanks, Eric
