  1. Pretty sure SV is special to SV grips. Everyone else stayed with the STI Plastic grip pattern.
  2. Yes they only make the clark/para type. The gunsmiths would have to chime in. I think the frame cut could be changed from nowlin to clark. Not sure if the barrel can be cut from clark to nowlin. But then you have more steps and money involved.
  3. SV will make you a blank hybrid rib barrel but they don't stock them. They say allow 6 weeks, but I got mine in 5 weeks. The rib goes almost to the locking lug. Not sure if that's a 4 port.
  4. Schuemann made some barrels that are just not available from anyone else. (Threaded blank hybrid types in different barrel and hybrid lengths for open guns mostly or AET.) Trying to find an exact replacement for an existing gun is not going to happen. Sounds like machine and personal problems have him shut down right now. Hopefully he can get things going again. I'm on the SV 6 week barrel wait for a new build right now.
  5. An Open only option would be nice. For those of us set in our ways.
  6. If you have a good local gunsmith that is highly regarded in building running guns in a timely fasion I would take advantage of that. Also see if he will do repairs in a week or two max. Most of us don't have that option and try to pick a well known gunsmith with good service but have to ship guns back and forth. Also depends on your skill level with minor repairs and if you have a back up gun. But if you plan on being in the shooting sports for a while, I would build a good relationship with a good local smith until something prevents that.
  7. Go to the Schedules/Squadding Tab on your upcoming match. Then Edit Schedules/Squads Tab Then bottom right hand corner there is a "show squads" to click on. That should open up your squads and open spots and "reserved spots" Click on the little pencil icon on the right and change spots accordingly. When done changing click on the floppy disk icon to save. You have to open and save each squad individually.
  8. Iowa Section Match is doing the same thing. Everything looks ok in practiscore but when it was uploaded to USPSA web it is missing the correct match points shot. Probably related to missing steel hits as well.
  9. The double sided mounts uses the same 3 on the left side and use two of the three on the right side. The single sided mounts use the same 3 and add 2 in between the original 3 to beef up the mount.
  10. I agree, stay with the SL cmore and install the ball detent racker if that's the only problem. You can pop the racker in & out in half a second.
  11. The other two sided mounts are: Double Tap Sports Ipsc Alex If you want to put the C-more at 90 degrees you will have to stay with the single sided mounts and drill two more holes.
  12. Trigger finger with a slightly reduced mag release spring for me. No extra button.
  13. Sell the Nook to a club that uses them and buy an Amazon Fire 8" HD No rooting required and better for Luddite.
  14. I've never had a problem with the vast majority of Shooters and R.O.s. But there is always a few on both sides that play games. The plus 2 guy in Area 6 comes to mind and a few R.O. that don't get invited back to certain match's. Also, some shooters seem to never had a miss, arb at the drop of hat, and want to argue anything. Luckily we have very few of either.
  15. There is a special comp. alignment reamer that is made for this purpose. A smooth portion slide's in from the comp. end and goes into the barrel and then the cutters remove material from the bore of the comp plates. I'm not sure what size O.D. the normal reamer is. I'm surprised they didn't do it when it went back for the chamber, throat to be checked.
  16. http://www.gramsengineering.com/products/?p=productsList&iCategory=4 fks9 are short followers for use with spacers fks are for mags without spacers If you are fully loading your mags with extended base pads the follower and or rounds can go past the ribs of the magazine and cause all kinds of problems. If you are just loading 10 to 15 rounds it's not a "going past the ribs problem". You can also put a mag back to the original set-up with a new spring and see what happens.
  17. Grams does have two different follower set-ups. A shorter follower if you use spacers and a longer one to use without spacers. Not sure if you are already aware of that. Make sure you have the right followers. Are the Dawson tuned mags STI brand as well? Most STI mags seem to like the spacers.
  18. What caliber? What overall length of the round? Do you use spacers if 9mm?
  19. Congrats Mr. & Mrs. Hop
  20. The DPP seems pretty reliable The RTS2 with Ver.4 upgrade seems pretty reliable They will all fail on an open major gun sooner or later. Yes even the old C-More SL or SR. Make sure you have a spare of whatever brand you like.
  21. Not sure if your talking about a RTS2 or the older slide ride type. But either one uses a 3 volt dc battery. Most new 3 vdc batteries will read 3.1 or 3.2 vdc with a digital voltmeter. I would change the battery before it gets to 2.5 vdc. Battery can cause the issue your having on a RTS2. Usually on the older C-more the dot just gets dim as the battery gets low or if the brightness knob starts going bad it could go off and on. Battery's are pretty cheap so keep plenty and change often. Or buy a voltmeter and check your battery.
  22. I'm getting some question's about mag holders or best mag holders for the PCC big sticks. I guess there is some version that hangs well below the belt. I don't know much about PCC yet and found the below wording in the USPSA PCC rules section. "All ammunition is carried on the belt, just like with handgun ammo. There are no placement restrictions for mag pouches." Is there any type that would not be considered legal for PCC or as long as any part is attached to the belt, your good to go?
  23. There is a new V 1.4 out as well. The sync problem seems to change with platforms and version of software. Each device has is own Sync Code displayed at the bottom of the sync screen. You can directly enter this code and sometimes helps on troublesome days.
