  1. I did the test and the rubbing is right at the base of the case above the rim... what i don't get is, it doesn't fit pre sizing, it fits post sizing, but after i powder charge it it no longer fits. Maybe the case is buckling? During the powder charge step it also bells the mouth of the case to accept the bullet. Not a time when you can chamber check. You'll have to wait until you crimp the final round. Make sure you have enough crimp on the case after you seat the bullet. What Overall length are you using?
  2. Not from SVI. They only sell their new style with the engraving on the side. From time to time someone has some new old style stock in the back of the safe they are cleaning out.
  3. Majority I see mix it up between 140 & 170. Learn to reload from both depending on where the best place to reload is. I've shot 4 rounds and reloaded to a big stick if thats the best place to reload. Sometimes a shorter mag in the gun will give you a little more room coming out of a briefcase or from under a shelf. Just depends on the stage and what your comfortable with. It's nice to have options.
  4. This is the best way and what USPSA uses. http://www.egwguns.com/index.php?p=product&id=867
  5. I would be very careful with carb cleaners around plastic parts. Brake cleaners are usually a little safer but still should be tested around plastic parts and fiber optic rods. And most brands have different chemicals in them. Just because one was safe doesn't mean another one will be.
  6. Just get that Open #1, #2, #3 Line up going and dump all that limited stuff. Then you can make use of that eagle vision. Rick needs to stay busy anyway. :~)
  7. IL does not have a round limit on mags. IL only recognizes about 4 other states CCW so you can't carry unless you fit their narrow same training requirements. IL residents require a Firearm Owners ID (FOID Card) Non residents do not have to have the FOID. You should be good if unloaded and in a case or bag. From IL State Police Web page https://www.ispfsb.com/Public/Faq.aspx Nonresidents whose firearms are unloaded and enclosed in a case. Nonresidents who are currently licensed or registered to possess a firearm in their resident state You might want to check in the county you will be in and make sure they don't have any goofy local ordiance's.
  8. You might try to find a 3mm x 6mm .5 pitch 3mm is the diameter and 6mm is the length This one takes a 1.5 mm hex key 6mm is about 1/4" long If it needs to be longer go to 8mm or 10mm, etc.
  9. It takes a metric hex wrench to adjust it. So I'm pretty sure its metric thread and screw size
  10. Get the biggest noise reduction rating you can stand. They are going to be big and not cool looking but your Hearing will thank you. I like the big peltor. I broke too many plastic headbands on the pro ears.
  11. Play with some test match's. Set the match up and add some shooters with the iPad. Take the nook and sync the match from the iPad. Enter some scores with the nook and then go back to the iPad and sync to the nook and make sure the scores sync over. It will get easier in a hurry.
  12. All of the newer versions of practiscore on the nooks let you update the software as long as you have internet access. Do it at home and not the morning of the match at the range.
  13. Another yes with a ball detent. Prop for table starts Unloaded starts Malfunctions. Just don't like a real long one.
  14. If he was out of the tuning business he should have at least returned them. But I guess that makes too much sense.
  15. Haven't loaded any 115 but I use 125 Zero JHP and it takes about 7.8 grains for a 170+ PF, OAL 1.165 for 9 major.
  16. Kinda prefer the 8 as a good compromise. But some dot module's seem to vary up or down a couple moa.
  17. They're not? Nope! http://techwearusa.com/techwear/ Any shooter can have a jersey, all it takes is money. Those blouses look expensive - do the sponsors typically buy them for the pro shooters? I buy my own blouse and just tell everyone I'm a pro while I'm handing out my "pro" tips.
  18. Try the 1GB you'll know right away if the RASI won't load. I used 2GB and then left cards in each one to use the dropbox type software updates. Now you can go get software's updates straight from the nook/practiscore when your connected to the internet. The cards also let you back-up scoring and less chance of lost scoring. Not sure if it's an automatic back-up for each score that's saved or something that the nook operator has to back-up. I need to check into that and turn it on on our units.
  19. All paperwork sent in and waiting to squad. Always a good match, plus the cheese & cheese curd factory on the way back. Doesn't get much better.
  20. Have been hearing good things about CK Arms Slides. Made by gunsmiths so I would think they would be watching the fit and finish pretty close.
  21. Sure sounds like the follower is hanging up or dragging in the top of the magazine. Inspect the follower real good and make sure it doesn't have some left over plastic from the molding. If you can see the dragging marks maybe sand them down a little. Shouldn't have to on a new mag, but it seems like we have to tune things sometimes.
  22. You are asked to make a pin when you sign-up. If you don't remember it, I think you have to contact the match director.
  23. I could see a few times coming out of a box or briefcase type start where the big stick kinda gets in the way. Would depend on round count and if you could skip a reload. Probably not a big deal, but might be nice to have as an option.
  24. How long has the pro been out and what's known about it's reliability?
