  1. Tikka rifles are very good rifles for the money. I have a Ruger American that I purchased for my son to shoot in Creedmoor and it is a .5 rifle for $379
  2. I have a rifle that was built by a fellow by the name of Tony Cannon at one of my sponsors, Doc's Pawn and Gun in Greenville, NC The rifle was a Remington short action that Tony blueprinted. I purchased a Satern M-24 barrel from Brownells that was short chambered in 6.5 creedmoor. I had it bedded in a Bell and Carlson Tactical stock and the rifle is a shooter beyond belief. Factory Hornady ammo. I shot a .187 and my fellow shooting partner shot a .208 with it. I have less than $2k in it and I also have a Jewell trigger in it. I am in the process of doing another creedmoor for a hunting rifle and also another target rifle in the new 6.5 PRC. Give Tony a call and tell him Tommy Roupe told you to call. Tony is very reasonable.
  3. Sorry for the delayed response. The Chandler Hardwoods were on both of my 3 Gun rifles and worked great. I still have 4 of them on my current rifles and not a single issue. They do take a small gas block, but that is not a issue for me either.
  4. Hope to hear a price soon.
  5. Don't know about Charlotte. Been there years ago for the state championship, but that was many, many years ago.
  6. Looks like a high priced, fluted barrel. Many barrels out there will do the same for less money. Check with Dan Lilja, works for JP. I shoot Satern barrels. Very, Very accurate barrels. 18" 223 Wylde DF Med Rifle barrel $285 Medium contour, rifle gas , double fluted, 5 R rifling. My rifles are .5 or less. No crazy warranty void for reloads.
  7. A little tip for my fellow shooters, Chandler Hardwoods Inc. They are all I use. They have worked very well for me. Someone will complain that they are cheap. I have never had a issue and I have sold all of my stupid priced tubes now that I know better. A can of Krylon works great on the bare alum.
  8. I have a friend that gave me 10 rounds that he shot in the past match. I was 147 blue bullet over what he said as 3.2 of 231. I have been shooting factory federal 115's and I could tell the difference.
  9. Then fit another ejector that is tight.
  10. If the cost is to much, the paper clip will do the job. I have cut many, many, paperclips over the years. Cut the paperclip about one inch long and put a 90 on the end of about 1/8 in long.
  11. Novak has a huge fiber dot. I think the dot is .90 or bigger. the front is .145 wide if I remember correctly. Been looking at it myself to go with my .155 rear notch. Old eyes are tough, but it beats the alternative for sure.
  12. Build the second top end in 9mm to match the one you have. Pull the slide stop and put the new top end on with the new slide stop, grab the proper ammo and mags and have fun. Been there and done that. Got a good price for the combo when I did sell it.
  13. Get the 10 and add a 40 barrel. TR Enabling makes 40 barrrels at very good prices that could be installed for very little. The same barrels that are in many high end OEM guns.
  14. Brian Miller , great guy to deal with and is shooter himself. He knows what works.
  15. What type of Rifle is it on, MPX or AR. If it is the stock MPX handguard , it moves around.
  16. If I was in the market, I would not pass on one from Metro Arms if the price is good and as long as you can get at least 4 mags. They make good pistols.
  17. Matt remembers, he worked with George and Behlert. Take that same cut and come in from the sides also. A lot of weight removed from the proper place. Looks great.
  18. If you find one in the $300 range, you better buy it. The last price I noticed was in the mid-$500 range.
  19. I built my very first custom on a Norinco that I bought new for $240, I bought two of them back in the 90's. Still have the pistol today and I look at the quality of my work from back then to know. Still is my most accurate 45, and one of my favorites. I remember when Bill Wilson was building on them. They were very good guns to build on.
  20. If you want light , years ago, EGW made cuts at the rear of the slide running all the way through the gun from top to bottom, as well as from right side to left side. Ejec, extrac, firing pin was all exposed. The pistol was a steel challenge gun. A lot of weight was removed and the slide held up just fine. It was Caspian slide's that George used. Jim at Innovation Customs could tell you more about it, Jim was working with George back then. Tell Jim, Tommy Roupe told you to call if you contact him. Those cuts really cut down on the moving mass.
  21. I had shot the top of the line Vortex 1x6 and then moved over to the C-3 C-more. The C- More had a better reticle, but the Vortex had a little better glass. If you are shooting open, look at the newer company call TRACT. There top of the line scopes use Schott glass, which is some of the worlds finest glass made. I just picked up a pair of Tract Toric binoculars with the Schott glass They are world class at far less money than the market is costing. Tract is a up and coming optics co. with no middle man, keeping cost down.
  22. 10-4. I just picked up a Grayboe. Thanks for the clarification.
