  1. Scratches on a shotgun ???????????? Shoot one year and then look at your shotgun !!!!!!!!! I think I may be looking for a Stoeger, and retire the Remington. My Remington has been flawless though.
  2. As soon as I get enough post to list a couple of single stacks, I will be calling Omar. I need a scope yesterday !!!! Looking forward to the 1x6. I know have a 4x16 and it tracks as well as can be. Very pleased. Always wondered if Vortex may not be affiliated with Nightforce. Tommy Roupe
  3. Curious to feel one. I have shot a lot of triggers, Rock River, Custom Rock Rivers , JP's, Golds. Have yet to feel a true crisp trigger like a Jewel bolt gun trigger.
  4. Looking forward to getting one in my hands.
  5. No advantage, the extra weight and less recoil reduction.
  6. 55's out to 400, go bigger for solid hit on steel any further. If you shoot only close stuff, shoot some 35's, you will feel the difference. Tommy Roupe
  7. My only complaint with the 308 platform is the weight for a hunting rifle. Love to see a 6.5 CM in the hunter model, if there is a hunter model. Anyone know the weights ? Tommy Roupe
  8. Do be careful when you start cutting on the grips with a Dremel tool , it is very easy to remove to much plastic. I have been doing grips for many years and once the plastic is gone, it can't be replaced. Tommy Roupe
  9. If STI won't replace the frame, check with George at EGW. They can weld almost anything cracked and they produce world class work as well as parts. I have known George for many years, and there work is top rated. Tommy Roupe
  10. I do like the red grip, Tommy Roupe !
  11. If anyone can make a Caspian work, it would be Rich. Top quality work !! The thing about Caspian is that the crew at Caspian is tough to beat, Gary and the gang has been in the industry for many , many years (Sorry Gary) and you wont find better shooter support. Back to the topic. I agree that the steel gun is the way to go. I have done thousands of STI grips and they can be coutoured to fit your hand very well, but the weight is needed. Simple physics, the heavier gun is softer. Glenn and Brian have a new steel grip that is coming out very soon that will help with the weight on the STI guns and SV make a killer steel grip. I have built the Caspian myself as well as the steel SV grip on a STI gun. The weight is the way to go. Tommy Roupe
  12. STI made mags that would work in Para's , but STI doesn't make them anymore. They were longer but you will have to find some used ones. I purchased some of the CDNN mags as well but don't have the pistol. Dawson make base pads that work on Para's mags or if you could find enough mags and they were not to expensive, you could cut them and have them welded. I remember a mag that Todd Jarrett had that was made longer and I think that it held 22rds for a 40. Back when I used to shoot a Para 38 super, I had some long mags made by Scott Mulkerin in Ohio. Don't know if Scott would still make the mags for you, but he is a world class revolver man and a great guy. Tommy Roupe
  13. Dave Dawson will not steer you wrong! He has worked very hard at his products and he will stand behind them 100%. I have known Dave for many years and you won't go wrong with him. Tommy Roupe
  14. I have known Chuck a very long time, and you won't find many that is in his league. A true stand up guy ! Tommy Roupe
  15. I have had very good luck with the Meopta's. Dot is daylight visible and the glass is better than most can determine.
