They recommend scoring lines in the ramp now. With 5 or 6 sewing needles to reduce the friction. Apparently this will be done on future ones.

If you are only going to shoot local matches then shoot 9mm. My scores are approx 5% better shooting major over 12 stages. Often my placing would not change.

Do 40 cal Single stacks with 10 loaded in the mags run out of the box?

I bought 2 of those by mistake. That bushing is used to convert your standard barrel to a bull barrel and it adds like 20 grams over a regular bull barrel of the same dimensions. It ends approximately half way to the lugs from the muzzle and is tapered down on the lug end. The tungsten sleeves akai uses are much larger and go almost all the way back to the lugs. You need to relieve your slide to fit them. The oversize tungsten sleeves need the hole at the end of your slide for the muzzle opened up too.

Why is blasting inside a magwell a bad idea?

The bit that sticks out of the grip safety towards the trigger bar usually stops the trigger bar moving rearward. I bet yours has no contact now. You should be able to see the contact or lack of with the slide off looking into the magwell towards the back of the gun and pressing the trigger and grip safety and seeing how they work together.

Whats that do differently? Mine is stock with a primer catcher tube, bullet feeder and autodrive. The spring got replaced with a poly rod from somewhere too. I'd like one of those output tubes so I don't have to empty it so often when processing brass.

Have you guys loading over 2000rph got any mods to your press?

Lots of people here use regular 38 super too, not super comp so that kills the better feeding idea. My 9mm feeds from the mags more smoothly than semi rimmed 38 Super did. If you shoot super comp only you need to sort almost by headstamp which sucks. My 38 gun was the tiniest bit flatter than my 9mm but it was ported whereas my 9mm is not. I sold my super cases and it paid for half the 9mm gun. The choice was easy when AP100 dried up and the drums of autocomp became available.

Whats the 2nd best gun you have ever owned?

I only process brass at 2400 and even then it's not reliable with the case shuttle. At 1800 I can walk away from the machine and it will rarely fault. I usually load 9 minor at 1800 with the index at 3 -5 or so. Any faster seems to accelerate problems. I have loaded 100 9 minor rounds at 2400 with 0 index but I was on edge. I don't feel like it is reliable at that speed. With 357 sig and 9 major I slow it down to 9 index.

Thanks guys. I pulled a tungsten guide rod out of another STI I had and it had the notch too. It seems to work fine. Its pretty old but it shoots well. Well worth the price I paid.

I've seen them bend during a match before. They can go through the primer, get stuck in the flash hole then they bend when the case hits the extractor with the pin stuck in it as you try to clear the malfunction. You will probably lose your firing pin stop in the dirt at this point too.

I have seen some 2011 grips converted to take 1911 mags. Is that what you mean?

Mags dont stop working for no reason. Replace your springs once a year. I'd only touch the lips when they stop feeding right.

Who says they are not making open guns anymore? I bet they are just ending the DVC lineup because the brand is tainted. Soon there will be a staccato - O or some bs.

Anyone know if these are the same? The SVI one has notch down the centre of the back of it closest to the barrel link. The STI one doesn't. Can I interchange them? The 2nd hand SVI I bought recently seems to have a 2 piece unit that unscrews itself.
