  1. I’ve been playing with mine on the timer and my fastest splits with close hits on the target is with 4 steel and 1 tungsten. I would try 5 steel if I had a fifth one. This is with 130pf 124gr JHP using N320. I believe the short stroke kit I purchased to go from 4 to 5 mass was a 3 tungsten and 2 steel combination. I think it was softer shooting with that setup but not as fast grouping my double taps. In a match I haven’t noticed the gun recoiling any harder. I will probably play around more with it later but as of right now I’m happy with the setup.
  2. Yeah I like 3N38 in super but too bulky in 9 Major. As far as Vihtavuori powders in 9 I would take 3N37 over the 3N38.
  3. Good to know, I ordered one too the day I received the email. Was curious why I hadn’t received it yet, now I know. Thanks
  4. Ford/Chevy, just pick one and bash the other. Just kidding... I picked JP and happy with my decision but would have been happy with MPX if it were as reliable as the JP has been out of the box. Great knowledge people at JP and more than willing to talk over the phone about their product.
  5. I use both plus HS-6 STI Custom built 5” Montana Gold 124gr JHP 1.165 OAL CCI SRP Mixed brass AutoComp 7.0gr 172 pf Silhouette 7.8gr 171 pf HS-6 8.4gr 173 pf
  6. I like using Hornady One Shot. I put 2-3 hundred 9mm cases in a ziplock bag spay them real well and shake the bag around a little. No need to let dry, just dump them in your case feeder and go. Saves your arm when resizing.
  7. Don’t shoot your chrono! Sounds funny but you would be surprised how many people have done it. It’s kind of like when not if...
  8. Same here plus I usually have spent .22 cases in the can too.
  9. I already had several Double Alpha mags so I just added their extension to one which worked well for me but have only competed in one match with it so far. Extended Mag Pouch Spacer
  10. JP GMR-15 is a great pistol caliber carbine! Used it tonight in its first USPSA PCC match. The carbine ran flawlessly, me not so much. Have about 1200 rounds through mine now without the first hiccup. And yes I did the barrel breakin just because. Looking forward to shooting a Steel Challenge Match this Sunday with mine. Good luck with yours.
  11. I run both on my 9 Major. On my 1911 38 Super I just run small pistol but still pushing major with it.
  12. The RO I just got doesn't have the ILS. I read somewhere those are the California legal models that have them now. Mine has not missed a stroke in the first 500 rounds. All I did was lighter the trigger a little.
  13. Thanks for the years of great Dillon parts and sales as well as the forum I've enjoyed it all. Good luck with semi-retirement.
  14. I use to throw all the SPP 45 brass away but there is getting to be so much of it now I have started saving it for lost brass matches. When I go to load them I will have to see what kind of speeds I get across the chronograph with both SPP and SRP before I kick up the charge.
  15. Couple times per year detailed. Upper usually once per week.
  16. In about 7 months I'll let you know. I have an Infinity open gun on order so we shall see how it compares to the custom built open gun I'm using now. I sure hope it's all that people say it is because it is considerably more.
  17. Congratulations on your first build. I'm waiting on my first build as well. It's been a little over 8 months into my 12-15 month wait so far.
  18. I don't see much crud, just cornmeal looking junk. I run 500 or so rounds though mine without cleaning and no issues with reliability but it's running pretty hot.
  19. Not yet but been thinking about one. I will probably wait until I get this one since it will be my first Infinity, then maybe a single stack 1911 just because I don't have one.
  20. I stopped by their shop years ago when I was out there for the World Championship of Cowboy Mounted Shooting in Scottsdale. Guy at the counter took me through the place and I saw a lot of interesting things and met Mike Dillon working at a drafting table with his dog at his side. Well worth it, if you get a chance.
  21. I run Silhouette in my 9 major and see the cornmeal stuff. I don't think I want much more pressure in it. Works great!
  22. Empty it all. I usually wait and run large batches so when I'm done it's usually going to require a caliber change anyway so I empty everything out.
  23. I've ran a 550 since the 80's, purchased 650 a few years ago with case & bullet feeder couldn't be happier. I still have the 550 and run smaller batches of ammo on it, mostly revolver & rifle since I don't shoot much of that but the high volume stuff goes on the 650. The 650 isn't difficult or take up too much time to swop between primer size or calibers if you have tool heads setup with your dies.
