  1. Mine does the same thing if using Internet Explorer.
  2. Just a quick look through some of my load work ups for my open gun I have one that has a SD of 5.4 on 10 rounds with 7.8gr of Silhouette powder under 124gr Montana Gold JHP using CCI small rifle primers and a COL of 1.165. This load gives me 1400fps. I have some other loads in single digit SD all using a Dillon 650.
  3. Not a must. I've done it both ways but doesn't hurt to have the tool. Just call Dillon, they will send it to you for free.
  4. I dump my spent primers and bad brass in a coffee can. When it gets filled the wife takes it to her metal scrap guy. Not sure what she gets for it but makes her happy. What more can you ask for...
  5. It really depends on what you want to do. The 650 with the case feeder is faster and the 650 takes standard size dies but if you only do one type of round and don't care about the time it takes to load them there is probably no real advantage. The 650 is a fine machine.
  6. I just can't stand waiting that long. I'm putting in an order for a new Infinity Open Gun.
  7. I do too as well as Silhouette but that is with my current open gun that doesn't have any barrel ports. Are you getting better performance with HS6 & AutoComp than 3N38? I'm assuming you have 2 barrel ports in your Infinity?
  8. That's exactly the finish I'm going with after talking to Brandon. I'll do all of the controls in bright stainless to give it a little bling but the gun will be in the Infinicoat DLC. According to Brandon it offers a Rockwell C95 surface hardness with an 80% reduction in friction between the surfaces. I'm still up in the air about the grip, my current open gun has a very aggressive STI stippled grip which I really enjoy but after reading some posts on here about the Aggressive MicroPockets I'm not sure. I know they have a tactical version which isn't as aggressive and Brandon said they could reduce the texture by .005" which would make it a little more comfortable, I'm just not sure yet. I never have cared much for skateboard tape although it does look good on the Infinity I would rather have the grip textured. I'm going with the Mobius cutout Signature grip and will most likely be the Aggressive MP. I think I have the rest of it figured out just waiting for Brandon to give it a look over to see if he has any suggestions.
  9. Thanks for the information. I ran a few rounds through my current open gun at 9.0gr of 3N38 although my OAL was a little longer than my normal 1.165" but maybe if I adjust the seating die down a little more I can compress the powder better. I was just curios what others were running. I will probably have a few pounds of HS6, Silhouette, and AutoComp left when the new gun arrives so I can try some of my old loads and see how they preform with the barrel holes. Still have a few more decessions to make before placing the order. I was planning on a hard chrome finish but Brandon doesn't recommend it. Hopefully within the next month I will get my order in for the 12 to 15 month wait. I'm sure it will be worth the wait from all that I have read.
  10. Just going by what Brandon told me. I agree Silhouette and HS6 work well in my current 9mm Major. Brandon said those powders would work along with AutoComp but at less than ideal performance. He also mentioned N350 as an option for his gun as well.
  11. OK you SVI 9mm Major open guys/gals, what's your load? I have been working with Brandon to build me a new SVI open gun in 9 Major. Brandon recommends two popple holes in the barrel which is something different for me. He also recommended 10.0 to 10.2gr of 3N38 under a Montana Gold 124 gr JHP. I picked up a pound of 3N38 today just to try it in my STI open gun which has a 5" Infinity Ultramatch barrel (no popple holes). With 9.0gr of 3N38 I was getting 172.1 power factor with a COL of 1.178". I really didn't want to run any hotter load out of the gun but I did try to get 10.0 to 10.2gr in the case and it was completely full! At 9.0gr the load was compressed since I had my dies to run at 1.165 COL and the shortest it would go with the powder was 1.178. At 10.0 I would have to adjust my crimp die just to hold the bullet on the case. What are you guys/gals running? I normally run Silhouette, HS6, or AutoComp with my STI.
  12. Same as others one shot no cleaning of lube necessary after loading.
  13. For the past 3 years with my open gun I have used the Pro Tac Mag Gold with no complaints.
  14. That's the way to go. If you use the MTM 100 round plastic ammo cases you can just flip the whole 100 rounds into the case and your done!
  15. I did the same thing with my Dillon case checker. The rounds that failed always went to practice and don't really remember having much problems with them unless they were really way out of spec. When I got the new Shockbottle case gauge in standard size I noticed a lot of my 9Major rounds would gauge just fine in it. So that tells me the Dillon gauge is a little tighter. So far I haven't had any issues with rounds that pass the Shockbottle but then again I don't remember too many of my rounds that failed the Dillon giving me much problem either. I sure like the ease of doing 100 at a time and flipping them into an MTM case!
  16. I use 8.7gr of HS-6, CCI SRP, 1.165 OAL. Gives me 173 PF out of my 5" Cheely.
  17. Precision reloading had some within the past couple of days, not sure now.

I normally run 147gr Montana Gold CMJ's through mine and it works fine, the CMJ's have a flat point. So far I haven't found anything that this gun wont run.
  19. If its a dedicated powder measuring I'm using I'll check at the start then a second check at 50 rounds. If no issues I usually check every 100 rounds or so. If I'm swopping powder measures from one toolhead to another I'll probably double my first couple of checks until I'm satisfied it is dialed in then go every 100 or so rounds. I used to check a lot more often than this but it wasn't really necessary. The trick is getting it dialed in at the start and then not adjusting it. I usually actuate the powder measure about 10 times to get the powder hopper and funnel filled then measure out 10 charges and figure what the average charge weight is. Once I get that done and adjusted to 10 round average it is usually right on the money.
  20. I tried the powder check on my 650 as well but it just made a mess when loading 9 major since the case was so full. Besides after loading for 20 years on my 550 without an issue I didn't think I was missing anything by getting rid of it. I've also added MBF to my 650 so don't have room for the checker even if I thought it was worth having. I agree, I don't think you will be seeing any changes or new stations added to Dillon loaders, but you never know...
  21. Some would say it's easier to get a double charge on a 550 vs 650 or 1050 since it doesn't automatically advance when loading.
  22. I guess that means they need to come out with a new 550 too so a powder check can be added if they are that important.
  23. Right Now at Powder Valley... HODGDON TITEGROUP - 8 LBS. LIMIT 2
  24. Keep an eye on Graf & Sons, they just called me today and said my Winchester AutoComp was in that I backordered last July. Once they fill the backorders if they have any left they may list it on their site.
