AzShooter
You should just remove the belling and that should hold your bullet in. If not get a bigger diameter bullet.

Sigarmsp226
I was always told that a little more crimp is better than less especially if you are shooting the rounds from a revolver, lever action rifle, or semi-auto pistol or rifle. Miranda
on the assumption you are asking... oh yeah, a bit much crimp. I am curious how you got there? coated lead. Did you tighten the crimp to prevent setback? ah well. This discussion can go a lot of directions. you may want to tinker with another expander die... miranda

Hoosier, they use a different profile than I'm used to. I had to load them to 1.085 to get them to plunk. I just kept screwing in the crimp because I couldn't believe I needed to load them that short. I'm going back jacketed bullets. I can load Zero at 1.125 with virtually no crimp. They load and fire fine.

shred
30K PSI on the back end of a soft lead bullet will swage most crimps right back out.
Farmer
That’s what happens when you seat and crimp in one operation.

No I load on a 750 with a bullet feeder and a case feeder. I seat in crimp in 4 and 5.

RudyVey
As long as it falls out of the front of your barrel, the crimp is fine......

But crimping doesn't affect length. And if the loaded rounds were too fat and they didn't "plunk" as you say, maybe the bullets were the wrong diameter?
