  1. The ogive of the 147 is much more forgiving and allows for longer loading. I typically load the 135 with 3.8 of N320 for a 1911 at 1.145 oal. I use the same ammo for my CZ because I reamed the chamber to accept that load length otherwise it would not accept that load.
  2. There is a radical difference in the chamber cutting for a glock and a CZ. The 135 in testing has performed better than the others. We found the 147 worked well in glocks but the 135 worked better in the CZ. If you want to load longer in the CZ just have the chamber throat reamed. It's a simple 5 minute job that will alow you to increase the load lengths. CZ are typically short chambered and require OALS at 1.1 or even down to 1.09. You may also look at your crimp. Over or under crimping can cause chamber in concerns. Send me some pictures of loaded rounds and I may be able to assist.
  3. This is most likely what is referred to as a short shot where there is not enough lead poured in the mold. Without a sufficient sprue not enough head pressure is created in the cavity which can create an insufficient fill.A misaligned sprue plate can create the same issue. This issue can be intermittent in the process and extremely hard to detect if the fill near complete. It's just one of those issues that happens in casting. We usually add 1% additional product to each box to supplement if these issues occur. I am pretty sure Donnie does the same.
  4. I had the same thing occur with my EGW gage. I took a throat reamer and reamed the holes to mimic my barrel and the issue was resolved.
  5. When did you purchase the BBI you had difficulty with?
  6. Both Bayou and BBI use the same mold for the next 135
  7. If u change the load for practice then you are practicing with a false recoil impulse. Practice with what you normally use. My match ammo is exactly the same as my practice.
  8. I have a 5.4" Sight-tracker built by Calhoun Customs. I also use a 10 lb spring. My slide weight is 11.8 ounces.
  9. I have seen it work and work well but once you hit 1000fps on a 180 bad things happen. 9mm minor, 40 minor and 40 major up to 172pf works ok.
  10. Loading with Titegroup to over 180 power factor is likely the issue here. We discussed doing another test at a 171 PF to see if the issue goes away. I suspect it will but rest assured we will solve the problem no matter what it takes.
  11. I have all of my 9mm 1911s and CZs reamed to accept 1.15 coated lead.
  12. I use a 135 gr BBI loaded with 3.85 of N320 at 1.150 OAL with Dawson Precision Mags
  13. Max I used to manufacture a moly coated bullet. pm me some pics of a loaded round and details about your load. We can likely fix the issue. You can also call me at 7313434001.
  14. Tom - We don't use moly anymore. It's the Hi-Tek coating. There should no difference in charge weights though.
  15. Nathan Carter at shootingsportsinnovations.com It's works great.
  16. #1 - Change the extractor to an Aftec - you will be glad you did in the long run - eliminates multiple tunings of the extractor #2 - make sure you ammo is loaded to 1.15. 9mm has to make a heck of a jump due to the feed ramp and a short load length
  17. My 5.4 was built by Tim Calhoun of Calhoun Customs in Kingston Springs, TN. It is a STI long frame and an SV Barrel/Slide. Weight without mag is 39.2 ounces. Tim does all my work and will continue that way. I have 2 single stacks and 2 lim guns - both have run 100%. We are getting ready to change the grip to an SV Signature Ergonomics Aluminum Grip. The gun is the flattest running limited gun I have ever shot. Running 4.85gr of WST at 1.185 behind Black Bullets International 40-180 and Fiocchi primers with Brazos Tuned mags. Power factor at the last major match was 173,200.
  18. I have a 5.4 sight tracker and love it. Perfect combination.
  19. You should be able to run it out 1.135. Give me a call at 7313434001 and we will figure out what's going on. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  20. You may want to look at our 9-135. It has a true RN profile. It is what I use for both my CZ Shadow and SS Minor out of my 1911. In my 1911 I load it to 1.150 with 3.9 gr of n320 for a PF of 135,000. Runs great using Dawson mags.
  21. Sarge I am using 3.9 and loading at 1.15 for both my CZ and my 1911. It chrono'd over the weekend at 136pf. That being said 3.7 should be about the right number.
  22. Based on a quick review BBI is still less expensive than Blue Bullets unless I am missing something. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk
