1. Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK) is a carrier solvent used to keep the moly in a suspension prior to it being applied to the bullet. The MEK (available at most hardware stores) works great in cleaning out the bore from any moly residue.
 2. Tim Send me a PM bout what your issues with loading BBI was. Due to popular demand we have changed the standard size on 40S&W projectiles to 0.400 which has made them chamber significantly better on tight chambered 2011/1911 firearms. Thanks in advance for your contact.
 3. They is only 1 powder for 45 and that is Clays!! That's the stuff!!

4. Give us a call at 7313434001 as it is much easier to explain over the phone.

5. The Lee Factory Crimp die is a bad idea on moly coated bullets. It can undersize the bullet and induce leading. A standard dillon taper crimp is fine.
 6. The shaving are probably causing it not to chamber. You must have more bell so that it is not shaving the coating. Please go to our website at www blackbulletsinternational.com and go to the loading tips page. Follow the instructions on how to setup the crimp. The coating must not be shaved or it will lead to leading in the barrel.

Another question - What press and dies (at each station) are you using?
 8. Post some high res pics of a loaded round and let's see what your crimp looks like. Also pull a bullet and take a picture as well.

9. We recently changed our sizing on all 40s (165, 180, and 200 gr) due to continued customer concerns over similar issues. We now size all of our 40s to 0.400 instead of 0.401. Testing indicated no loss of accuracy or speed, and a marked increase on the ability to pass case gage checks. The tight chambers of most 1911/2011 lead to us making this change. If you would like to experiment with an alternative size just give me a call and we will get a sample out. We can even re-size the existing product if it works for you.
 10. No. Shock buffs cause more issues than they are worth. Try the 11lb spring or even a 10. We are loaded basically identical but I don't get those marks out of my Brazos mags.

Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2

11. In all my 1911/2011 platform guns I use a wolf variable 11 lb spring for major of and a 9 lb for minor. Its worth a shot. Are you using any shock buffs?

Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2

12. Looks like it needs a throating reamer to smooth the edge of the chamber.

Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2

13. The bullets are made using a certified 92/6/2 lead alloy and have a BHN of 15 - pretty hard stuff. I load my 40 to 1.200 and have not seen this before. From the looks of the bullet you could put a little more crimp in as well. I assure you this isn't a bullet issue. Give us a call and we will be glad to assist.
 14. 147 lead need a length of about 1.13. Try loading a bit longer.

Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2

15. Try spraying some hornady one shot on the comp to make clean up a little easier. Thanks

Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2

16. Bullseye would not be my 1st choice for powder. It is really dirty. We recommend WST, Solo1000,or N320 to maximize the smoke reduction but I understand that these days you sometimes have to use what you can get your hands on. You need a fast powder that burns relatively cool.

Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2

17. Last bit of a note. The original product from NBL that was replaced was not manufactured under my ownership. It was made by the previous owner. We elected to replace it for him although we weren't under any obligation to. Why? Because it was the right thing to do.

Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2

18. Let's talk just a second about the black residue. Molybdenum disulfide is a powder held in an polymer suspension that is thinned by a solvent for application purposes. As the solvent dries and and the material adheres to the surface of the bullet a powdery residue exists. We put a soft sealer over the top of the moly coating to reduce this powdery residue. So does getting some black on your fingers mean that the coating is coming off and not adhered - no. If you look at the bullet and see the silver color of the lead then then coating is not adhered. There will be variation in the processes at times and some batches may have more residue than others. Does this make the bullets defective - no.
Are moly coated bullets the same as Bayou - no. Bayou is an epoxy polymerized paint. Donnie makes a great product and I used them before I bought BBI. Yet still my hands turned green after loading several hundred. Did I think that was an issue - no.
In summation- I have worked 16-18 hour days 7 days a week for the last 6 months just to keep people who love this sport as much as I do supplied with product that allows them to continue doing what they love to do. We are as much about providing excellence in service as we are product. We work hard to keep our lead times at a minimum : 2-3 weeks with some orders shipping less than a week. Some issues can be product concerns and others are expectation issues. The black residue is an expectation issue. It is going to be there in varying degrees. If you can' t deal it then don't purchase our products as I don't want to sell you something that you are going to be dissatisfied with. My phone number is available on the website if you would like a 1 on 1 discussion. We aim to please but also understand that is not possible in all situations.

Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2

19. I was shoot USPSA pretty much exclusively with a few IDPA matches in between until I read a copy of the draft "rules". After that I no longer wish to participate in there game. Don't get me wrong - rules are a necessary part of the sport, but when they are no longer based in LOGIC I have a hard time seeing the purpose. I started off shooting IDPA and really loved the game. However as my game improved I found out rather quickly is that the objective of IDPA is to find a way to discourage Master level shooters from participating so that it becomes a game for "New" shooters and "retired" shooters. No disrespect is meant to either as they are also a vital part of the shooting sports.
 20. I Dont Participate Anymore
 21. If this is the way they intend to go then I may have shot my last IDPA match. I doubt I will renew my membership.

 24. As a competition shooter who tries to stay at least 6 months ahead, I'm perfectly happy to back order and wait a month or two. However it's frustrating to not even be able to order, and not have any very good idea of when I will be able to order from most suppliers. I can understand the frustration. Shutting down orders was the last thing that we really wanted to do but we had to make a conscious decision since we could not obviously continue on the same path with orders exceeding capacity by a large margin. We did realize that it would have a negative impact with some customers but had to make it anyway.
 25. We will start taking orders again on April 15th and will be operating back at our next day shipping model. We increased our inventory level on finished product and raw materials but the outcome depends on if the intake exceeds our capacity by a large margin. We like everyone else is looking for a little stability. As a competition shooter myself I hated to shut orders down but I refuse to let backorders extend past 2 weeks. It does nobody any good.
