  1. Personally, I do not care a lot for Midway's customer service. In the end this may actually be looked at as bad service from Dillon. I like it the way it is now. Quality products offered by quality vendors who know Dillon's commitment to customer service and use that as a selling point. I'm not sure Midway would be able to price point much lower than our current suppliers. My 2 cents.
  2. My Limited had the same issues behing the slide stop as yours. I found the edges of the lever were burred. Cleaned the back side up with a file and now I know they won't get any worse. My barrel crown is better than yours but not by much. I don't know if the type of rifling they use makes this a difficult task or if it is just a quality issue. For the price, I'm more than happy with mine but it does seem that if I had been supplied the parts in a box I could have put it together better. As for the grips I'm currently working on making a set that will extend just over the flats of the factory magwell. I have large hands and my grip ends up down that far anyway and I currently run grip tape down there..
  3. I have found that when working with the M&P slides (Pins, Sights) things go a bit smoother if the slide spends some time in the freezer before the work begins.
  4. If this is for 9mm why depriming before tumbling?? I think you will find for the most part people tumble / clean with the spent primer in place. Your 550B will be set up with the decapper in station 1 so that would be your next step. Otherwise if you are still going to tumble without the spent primer in place any spent media will be punched out when passing back thru the decapper in station 1.
  5. Installed my new CMMG conversion on an M&P15 and hit the range. Wasted 200rnds of CCI mini mags without a hiccup, most were rapid fire. The Black Dog mags all (3) ran great. All this in the snow and cold (7deg). Accuracy @ 50yds was better than I expected. Best $$ spent at well under $200.00, my Ar will get more time out of the safe now.
  6. I had to go with a stronger spring on my limited. I found my own which has a bit larger inner diameter so it doesn't rub on the set screw. If you need to go this route I think henning is planning to offer more than 1 spring type. I've actually bumped mine up to an .020 spring with no noticable change in trigger pull and get a nice crisp reset now.. Love this trigger!!!!
  7. I set mine up as pictured. I also added a 1" wide strip of Velcro tape (Fuzzy loop side) to the inside. This allows for a secure fit and makes for smooth removal.
  8. Tell her you just wanted to be honest and didn't want to hurt her feelings. Then allow her to tell you what she dislikes about you.... That should save you both a lot of Xmas shopping $$$$$ Hope you weren't really looking for a quick way out on this one.
  9. Matt, hope you don't get an R.O. that can't read!!!!
  10. I find myself at a point where the Vermont cold, Snow, Rain, etc. gets me to the point where at 50, I'd prefer to not have to deal with it. About that time I see one of our revolver division shooters who is 70++ years old who not only shoots the stages well, he also helps set up, RO, Paste, teardown etc. He does this many times while wearing a shirt that say's "No Crybabies" on the back. Pretty tough to argue with that!!! Come to Vermont in February, we'll be the guys running around the snowmen!!!
  11. I would be curious to see what the expansion looks like on this thing. I would expect that the reason for making this bullet would have to do with what it does to a human target or maybe one protected by a vest.. Sometimes there are darker reasons behind being creative. After all, he is a Sniper
  12. I'd buy a gun recomended by someone with "real" insight on a commercial (yes Henning, etc) before I'd run out and buy what that gal is selling.. Obviously just a spokes model who knows little of the product she's paid to pitch. Now if it was someone like Jessie Abbate, that would be the best of both worlds wouldn't it!!!
  13. Made it to the range today and the new .018 spring I installed yesterday works great. Nice crisp reset with negligible difference in trigger weight. Because this spring has a couple of more coils and a bit stiffer in stainless the issue or friction with the set screw seems to be gone. The outside diameter of this spring is such that it just fits in the trigger cup ( doesn't want to fall out during install ) and the inner diameter is just a bit larger than the .016 spring. 1st pic compares the spring I installed with the .016" spring.
  14. I have to wonder why the sport doesn't mandate that the ro or score keeper stay downrange u til the range is clear. If you have nobody at the start to call make ready, then there is little chance of being in the position to have to hollar out to begin with.
  15. I had access to .018 tempered stainless springs so I brought several home to try. After cutting to length and installing I found that in my application the trigger reset was much more positive. There seems to be only a slight increase in trigger pull and the reset is very crisp. I expect over time things will lighten up a bit so I think this will be the way I run. Henning may be correct, having and option in spring diameter may allow us to tune the trigger to our liking. My fingers are pretty long so I still plan to upgrade when the adjustable trigger is available but in the mean time I got rid of the curved trigger which I just hated. Still very satisfied with the ease of removal / install of the new trigger.
  16. Ran into similar issues today with failure to reset. Not a constant fail, about 10% fail. When I got home I was able to duplicate in dry fire. Seemed like the trigger was hanging up just a bit. Removed everything, readjusted the preset and it was better. Stretched the spring slightly and it seems to be fine now. Overall, really happy with the feel of this trigger though. Hitting the range on Wed to run it again.

    Open M&P

Dan Burwell has been working with an Open fullsize model for a while. Looks like he's getting close to having it working well with the 170mags. It should be just a matter of time before there is something available for a longer version ( I Hope) See discussion here... http://mp-pistol.com/boards/index.php?show...=15104&st=0
  18. That was great. Looks like you guy's had a nice day, wish I didn't have to work that day... I have a 1911 set up with a Kimber .22 upper if you want to give it a try with him and see how he likes it before you go out shopping!!!!
  19. Isn't this a bit irrelevant. Under what circumstance would anyone allow a competitor into a safe area with a loaded weapon ESPECIALLY one that has a malfunction where other shooters may be??. I myself would make sure I did everything in my power to insure gun is clear or I have discharged it before I have left the oversight of the RO. Also, if the range is still considered hot (Obviously clear could not be shown) and the RO discharged the weapon downrange why would he DQ himself?? Fairly new at this stuff so I'm struggling to understand. Guess you had to be there.
  20. I've had mine in and out probably 4 times so far and I haven't sworn or thrown anything across the room like I did with the stock set up... That's worth the money right there. Really, I think you will be more than happy with the ease of install and adjustability.
  21. Had simililar issues with mine. Removed the flat washers, dimpled them with a punch and problem gone for many thousand rounds..............
