  1. Black Bird Pilot..... Man, that must be the best job in the world.
  2. Not a Glock but in my Tanfoglio limited I get 171PF with 5.0gr WST and Zero 180gr Zero JHP. Running long at 1.200" which may not work for you. Titegroup may be better for your use, I just like the push I get with WST and super clean!!!
  3. Personally I like Federal SPP most. I'm running CCI SPP right now and have run the new silver wolf SPP with no issues going bang. The Wolf and CCI's do tend to seat harder and as such I check more carefully for high primers. My Tanfoglio Limited runs a longer firing pin with a lighter hammer trigger with no fails of any primer I've used so I might just be lucky..
  4. I've been shooting for only 2 years now. I have seen a new shooter DQ'ed on his first day on the first stage and a Master class shooter DQ'ed the same day. Both understood what they had done wrong and both stayed around to help the club complete the days activities because they know what kind of club members we have. They are still around for every match. If the club is run well, everyone there should know what their responsibilities are and be grown up enough to handle the required actions taken when there is an infraction. This is a game that requires responsibility probably more than any other because lives are in jeopardy if the rules are broken. Again, if the club is run correctly, people will want to return and shoot with a safe group of competitors every time. If you really want to keep a new member around, make sure they know safety is the priority, have them go slow and take their time, respect the other shooters and above all have fun.
  5. I get my media from the pet shop. Newest media is used for initial case cleaning. The old stuff gets saved and I use in with Nu finish post loading to get the rounds shiny and slick!!!!
  6. Worse case scenario...... You do a planned re-load early and replaced a good working mag with one that causes problems. Been there done that.... Gear has to work for the plan to work.
  7. I'm tied into my natural gas furnace for the house. What is nice about that is with the warm air circulating thru the basement the need for a de-humidifier in the cold moths is gone. I keep a desicant in my gun safes and in the winter it never needs a re-charge.. A nice option with natural gas is that if you go with a unit that has a manual start feature you don't have to worry about heat if the power is out... You would want to make sure the unit would not require a power vent though.
  8. I had a little issue with resets also with my pre-travel set minimal. I actually did make a change to a larger wire diameter spring and haven't looked back. I'm still below 3lbs on the trigger and my pre-travel is about where I like it. I'd say, don't be afraid to experiment. I had to cut the spring a couple of times to get it where I wanted it.
  9. I run an aluminum magwell on my M&P Pro as well as on my Springfield 1911. In both cases I have polished the inside to a mirror like finish which cuts down on the dings as well as helps make the re-loads very smooth. I have found that aluminum is also a lot easier on the mags than stainless is for those of us doing less than stellar reloads. If the correct grade ( What will be used ? ) aluminum is used it will stand up fine. I don't care about the weight I just want something that I can anchor my hand on.. Henning, if you want a guinea pig tell me what you need for measurements and the cost. I don't care for the stock limited well, I'm ready for this piece!!!
  10. I feel the same way so don't feel to bad about. I went thru this type of change on an automotive forum I belong to and found it was actually a change for the better. It takes a while to get things back in tune to everyones liking but I'm sure the people who are responsible for this forum will take care of it. This is probably the best, most helpful group of people on the web working hard to promote the shooting sports. My .02....
  11. Yeah, very slow when compared to the old sight. Sometimes opening pictures takes several times. Hopefully the bugs will be worked out. Really prefer the old....
  12. All sound great. Looks like more $$$ your way as soon as available... Lovin that new trigger!!!

    M&P40 Pro

I ran my M&P 9 PRO in Limited Minor for a bit. The whole time I was waiting for the .40 to roll along. Finally decided to get an Tanfoglio Limited .40 and now have all the gear to run that as well. This is just going to give me something else to think about now!!!
  14. As my family and friends have come to learn, if I don't like it I'm not eating or drinking it. No debate. Oh, and if you take something I don't like (Mayonaise) and mix it with 10 things I don't like........ I STILL DON'T LIKE IT!!!! No faking it with me, tell 'em like it is and enjoy your meal....
  15. Heres my adjustment mod. Fits over the stock Dillon adjustment bolt. 2 hardware store knobs epoxied together with an old caliper indicator. Got $3.00 into it...
  16. Natchez, Federal SPP...... NOW!!!!!
  17. I ran into this with my 9mm FCD. The .40 and .45 worked fine. Adjusted every which way and still had problem. Tried with plate tightened and loose with no change. Worse when not using case lube. I'll assume you made sure the press is level?? I ended up having a more aggresive taper turned on the inlet of the die just due to frustration and it worked fine after that. I had someone in my club run into this previously and had recommended this to me as a work around.
  18. +1 on the Zero 180 JHP. I have run both these and the MTG's loaded long in my Tanfoglio Limited. The contour of the MTG's just dont run well in my gun where the Zero's run flawless. I would get a sample of each, try them and see what runs best in your gun. You may see no difference but it's best to try a small sample before placing that Big order!!!
  19. At the range I shoot at I sometimes do not have the luxury of shooting distances of less than 25yds. In those cases I will stick a Caldwell Orange peel 5" target top of the A- zone. This allows me to see where my shots have hit without approaching the target. I did this because I was getting in the habit of using the white no shoot side to highlight my shots and was afraid my brain would cause me to do the same in a match. For dry fire indoors I use 1/2 scale airsoft targets mixed with a standard metric with no outline or tape because I don't want to be looking for it at a match. I think for a lowley C- class shooter as I am it's important not to confuse the mind!!!!
  20. Just starting the upgrades.... Many more to come!!!
  21. Best / cheapest way to automate this would be to convince your kid how much fun it is...
