  1. Not a rule... My point was that some clubs rely on the shooter to use a production legal gun. If nobody is questioning what your shooting, then I guess your getting away with it....
  2. As posted in previous threads (Search on Pro Production) Pro or 9L not yet approved for production class. Should make the numbers on each this spring. At the club level, it's up to the club. Mine requested I run limited until it is approved...... Of course, I asked. There is another shooter running in Production so it's kind of a don't ask don't tell risk if you want to do that. Of course your club has the option if they catch you of bumping you to Open for the match. Hope your fast and accurate!!!!!
  3. New loader also using the 550B. All the info you have so far should set you on your way. Spend the money for the Strong Mount and the Aluminum Roller Handle, It will make for a more enjoyable experience. You will not regret and both are worth every cent!!!!
  4. 125gr Zero JHP over 3.8gr Titegroup OAL 1.114. You can run longer but this works well in several pistols for me. Makes PF, a little snappy, but I like it that way. Never had any feed issues with this load.
  5. I don't think that demand is an issue for getting them to 2000 each. From what I've seen, supply is the problem. Since it is the production #'s that allow a pistol to make the approval list all we can do is wait for S&W to reach the numbers. There is obviously a plus side to having an item being produced in limited numbers be in demand..... You know your going to sell what you produce!!!! So S&W employees, enjoy the holidays with your families and when production restarts...... STEP IT UP!!!!
  6. I also run the Pro as well as an 9FS. Currently using the Pro in Limited class due to my club using USPSA Production class rules and the Pro has not yet been accepted. 23rnds with HUGE magwell is a lot of fun!!!! I ran a 147gr but didn't care for it. Current favorite is a 125gr JHP Zero over 3.9gr Titegroup at 1.112 OAL. CCI Primers Over 1500 rnds with not a single fail. Feeds in both FS and Pro with no problems. This include a match this past week below 20deg...... And yes, the large poppers will go down!!!!
  7. Here's the latest from S&W today. Not good news if you plan to compete tru the winter..... Did have 2000 made of both the 9L and the 9 Pro, then it was decided that they were two different models, so will have to make 2k of both to have them qualify. There will be an announcement on the web site when they are approved. Should be close, want them to be approved for the spring season. Merry Christmas ! Jeff W. The wait continues..... Get out there and make those purchases!!!!!!
  8. Good luck there.... I've been waiting since Aug. when S&W said "We're close". USPSA say's it will be added to the list as soon as the 2000 unit milestone is met, no hold ups!!! It's all in S&W hands and getting the guns to the public for purchase.
  9. So how upset do the Open guy's get when they get beat by an American Plastic Gun!!!!
  10. I'm thinking if you go with a threaded barrel you may have some pretty neat options. Appears like a pretty cheap way to build a reliable Open package. Would like to see what the accuracy looks like. If there are any longevity issues, Dan will find them!!!! By the way, the mag extensions worked out great!!!
  11. Aswer to many of your questions here... http://mp-pistol.com/boards/index.php?show...hl=burwell+open It looks like the comp is actually the bigger issue. I run the Mag extensions (ISMI springs) and Magwell from speed shooters to run Limited class with no falures so you covered up to at least 23rnds+1.
  12. Sounds like someone who doesn't like M&P's wrote that review. I have had 0 problems with mine feeding it Wolf, CCI aluminum, WWB, Remington, and 3 different handloads..... 0FTF's... If it does have a problem from what I've seen on the M&P Forum I know S&W will take care of it....
  13. Pull the striker and check it. There have been some early issues with broken strikers. If not, then clean striker assm and channel. When re-installing use NO lube. Dirt, built up lube will cause weak hits of the striker. At most I use WD40 to clean and lubricate insure that I left only a slight film. Have had no FTF in either my M&P 9 or my M&P Pro in 3000 rnds.
