  1. I think your going to find that you will have to swap out the housing or remove it and fit it better to the frame. After this I'm sure the well will sit flush on the frame. The problem you may have then now that you have already done some filing you may end up with a losse fit. There are ways to correct that also if it happens.
  2. It looks like your mainspring housing is hanging below the frame a bit in the pictures. If this is the case it is the cause for your fitment issues. With the grips off does the magwell sit flat against the frame?? If not, that will cause you problems fitting it all up.
  3. Mine did not fit on my Springfield. They had to be fitted. There is video held here on install / fitting. http://www.techwearusa.com/techwell_system.asp
  4. I thought about it but for $110.0 plus the shipping costs I figured I'd let the pro's machine cut mine. I have to wait a couple of months but when I use it I won't be reminded of the poor job I did when I show it off!!!!
  5. Sounds like it isn't formatted correctly?? Lot's of post on the web about formatting issues with these cards and certain products.
  6. My first and only loader has been the 550B. No regrets and will keep even if I move up. Simple set up, easy operation and very adequate thruput. Very accurate loads can be had if you do your part.
  7. I've shot a couple of matches with a guy who places the mag in the holder the same way you were. It seems to work for him but definitely is not the norm. If you could watch his motion closely, you can see just how awkward it is. I would suggest you get the routine down with a lot of dry fire reload practice. If you can, add to this a video camera so you can see where you may be going wrong with your grip. If that is not an option have someone watch you closely who can then show you what is and isn't working for you. Like the rest of us you will still flub a reload or 2 but now you'll know why and can work to correct it. Also, if your a reloader, load yourself up some dummy rounds, (no primer or powder) (I color mine Red) so you can practice handling a weighted mag. This makes a big difference!!!!!
  8. Ok, I made a decision on the size matters scale for you. http://craziestgadgets.com/2008/12/22/v8-engine-powered-snowblower-really-blows/
  9. No matter what you get for a blower you will find with todays fuel the most important thing you can do is to take the right precautions when you put it away. (Full tank of fuel, stabilizer, run,etc)..... Todays fuel with ethenol left in a carb over the summer can make you a real mess!!!
  10. What comp is that?? Threaded to a Storm Lake barrel??
  11. I originally purchased mine blued. After getting them running the way I wanted I ended up sending them out and getting them Cobalt plated. They just seem to be a bit more slippery and feed better in my opinion. To this point, no issues with the feed lips cracking so I'm happy. My suggestion would be to go with the standard and if you decided later you can always have them plated for a reasonable price...
  12. You wouldn't tell with the type of haircuts you get!!!
  13. I set up similar a few months back. Used only 2 bottom plates. Solid hard cover only allowed 1 to be seen when engaged from behind yet another elongated wall set 2.5ft off the ground. This after having already engaging 3 target arrays of 14 targets.
  14. I will assume that since you are in Ohio winter snow load will also be a factor. If not covered over head, you will need to be sure this is considered in the calculations. Another thing to consider will be footing requirments. Not sure if frost is a big issue where you are located but waking up in the morning to find your heavily laden deck pitched to one side might make for a bad day. Again, no engineer but know you need to add these question to your list....
  15. I know Alpha Mike well, Charlie Mike's ugly cousin..... He's always blaming me for a poor sight picture.
  16. No, I only feel that the requirement should be clearly stated in match announcements. To me limited and open are just that, following the mag spec guidelines as indicated in the latest rule book. And no, I don't agree with the statutes on this restriction. Hold a match in every state, but indicate what that states requirements are. It seems that in a case like this, USPSA is placing themselves in a position to have many competitors at the event in "violation" of the statutes and in this world could place the match and their reputation in jeopardy. My .02 cents.......
  17. That mag release come from a dunk the clown tank???
  18. Why does USPSA sanction events in N.Y. that include Limited and Open if there is a 10rnd limitation on mags? Is there an assumption that there are plenty of pre '94 mags available or just that competitors will ignore the statutes and run their mags made post ban termination??
  19. Great info, I've been thinking about going this route myself with my 5" Pro model. Did you have a custom comp designed?
  20. You have Hennings flat trigger upgrade. I ran into the same issue and after backing off on the pre-set most of the issue went away but I ended up tuning with a spring I found more to my liking. Below you'll find a thread on this issue as well as the web adress to henning page on the design and set up of this trigger package. Get it right, and you'll love this trigger package... http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=100166 http://www.henningshootsguns.com/pages/2009_triggersystem.html
  21. Also run 180gr Zero JHP's @ 1.20 OAL. Barely fit the stock .40 mag but just right with the Henning 140 mags. Keep your mag feed lips in tune!!!
  22. If you don't mind a 3hr trip once a month come on up and join us in VT. July we'll be running a 250+ round match so you'll get plenty of trigger time for your money!!!! http://www.gmpsvt.com/
