  1. At that rate it would have been faster to change it back to 1x
  2. I'm not a fan of them primarily for the rediculous range estimator built into the glass.
  3. None that work well. The carver Hunter dosent it raises the sight higher or sure. I would have the port lowered as it's not a big deal
  4. Your only option is an open race holster like a Racemaster with the thumb rest. I would say loose the rest and give yourself some more options
  5. The ones who "travel the circuit" are a handful of guys who shoot the whole program and expect to walk away with a gun and other prizes to sell off. To me it's very boring and I will only shoot one to help ro at our local club
  6. I think the production rules are nuts which is why I avoid the division. Seems nuts that a guy can't dremel the finger groves and undercut his glock frame, put a 34 slide on an RTF frame which is basically Stippled yet they can stipple their gun yet since that would create an arms race yet the 2-3k CZs and Stock II are perfectly fine and do not create an arms race
  7. If those shooters practiced at all they would not struggle to find the dot as it's just there. The 90 degree mount makes it lower and easier to find at first but you do loose a little visibility on the left side which can be an issue with steel that's close together if it's not an actual steel challenge match. The key to the dot is practice draws till the dot is naturally there and your not looking for it. I shoot a vertical dot for both my Rimfire gun and my uspsa open gun as well as iron sighted guns and have no issue switching back and forth and indexing the gun It just takes practice
  8. The Walmart rubber ones from peltor work well and are like 6 bucks for a 3 pack
  9. They simply do not hold up to the amount of shooting the competition shooters do. For the average hunter or someone who shoots a few rounds a year they last fine. If you shoot often they will not last
  10. I usually go 2 on paper unless it's super close and It will save me a reload if there isn't a real good place to do one. On head shots one and go
  11. Did it just start recently doing that. A newer lot of that powder cracked a few slides recently
  12. When did you get the powder. I recall Shay Akai posting I believe early may that he had like 4 of the guns he built have slides crack over a weekend all from a new batch of 3n38 and overpressure
  13. Yap volquartsen sear, the BAM bushing to eliminate the mag safety and the volquartsen trigger and you have a nice light trigger and it's not that expensive. I wouldn't worry about putting some money in a cheap gun to make it more shoot able for you as it's better than shooting left handed.
  14. We were behind a squad recently at an out of state match that we had to wait on FOREVER for the whole match. The reason for the slow down was mentioned and basically got shrugged off. The match director was notified who will be talking to the ROs about that. The slow down was poor stage management as you had the RO, Shooter, and Score pad guy walking the targets. One yes One shooter pasting targets, One shooter who stood in the shade all day and 5 range chickens picking up every single piece of brass they could on the entire stage. The farther through the match we got the slower they became as there was simply more brass left behind by the other squads to pick up. Simple stage management on the ROs part would have solved that issue
  15. Put a towel over mine and never had an issue. If it gets too hot and you roll the gun always a glove on the one hand
  16. Is it pushed up against the wall? If so remember the carpet tack strip is there which is what the back will sit on. Add a small shim under the front legs
  17. Be very cAutious using the vinegar and peroxide mix as the lead can be absorbed through the skin and is very hazardous. There are much safer methods for a choke tube cleaning other than that which is mainly used for non user serviceable supressors where they can't be disassembled
  18. What's a "normal length"? 1.125"? or 1.2"?My HS6 loads with 115s are most definitely compressed. Depends on the gun but for a glock 1.155 is common and for an sti 1.16-1.17 is common. The shortest I have seen even for a glock is 1.145
  19. I like them as they do require skill to turn them. They require proper choke, timing, and knowing how to center your pattern and to a lesser extent load(not counting for the cannon loads) to spin one. The ones who I generally see struggling with it are those who have chosen poorly on choke selection and are trying to attack it with the wide open choke like they want to use for clays and even close poppers and just wanna throw lead at it and hope to get a hit instead of shooting it like they mean it and use a tigher choke and center that pattern on the target and then time the next shot. Heck I would love to see a stage with nothing but clays and big easy poppers and then 1 spinner with a HUGE penalty for not spinning it and see how many hosers get bit hard by trying to choke for the clays and not the spinner. 3 gun is all about knowing when to slow down and go steady and when to get on the gas and go.
  20. I understand what they are trying to do and let as many people get it but the with shipping and haz fees it makes the price almost double
  21. The lack of daylight on the factory ones are not great for speed and the front sight is just way to wide for small distant targets.
  22. The picture up top is fine to cut off or you can even take a little more off there is no exact amount
  23. The cutting of the hook does the same thing as the JP speed hammer and it takes a couple min to cut. What it does is make the hammer lighter which means it is moving faster so it makes the trigger reliable with the jp light springs as there isn't always enough oomph to get the heavier hammer moving to set off hard rifle Primers especially on some factory ammo
