  1. Haven't had any more fouling but they do smoke a little more than jacketed
  2. Not a fan of high lords stage as the stage is poorly worded and there is no provision for reloading or clearing a jam. Personally I don't want someone trying to clear a jam or reload while juggling a prop like that
  3. Built this bench to fit perfectly in one side of an apt walkin closet. Isn't a huge bench but have plenty of space to work
  4. Any one know any place that will throat a couple 9mm barrels for lead. Most places I have checked with arnt taking on small jobs
  5. I am running an ALS with the safariland Low drop as well as the disconnect for the holster as well. It keeps the gun offset and makes for a good draw and works well as I am running the shotgun shells on a vest
  6. I would say that's not bad for a glock
  7. I don't know about sns but I know I have used black bullets 115s to like 1550 fps and it works fine.
  8. For 3 gun go 5 inch between the 2. That said the 6 inch guns are pretty popular
  9. I would just add a dot and a ported barrel. A magwell might make the grip too small as it extends a little up on an already short grip.
  10. Most don't use 147s for open because it it doesn't have the powder volume that's wanted to really work the comp for open. Basically it shoots more like a limited or production gun than what most want in an open gun. The majority use 115 or 124 for a flatter shooting gun
  11. I think it depends a ton on how far the target is as to what will work. Up close I have no issue taking 2 shots on on sight picture as I know enough about how the gun moves that it's gonna be there on the target. On the little farther stuff i will take 2 sight pictures but have no problem breaking that second shot as soon as I see it on brown It kinda takes effort to do and a different mindset from the other shooting sports especially if your shooting uspsa minor to accept brown over waiting for the alphas. For 3 gun I'm willing to take a much looser sight picture
  12. Just use the pasters here. they arnt that expensive and are easier to just peel and stick over ripping tape.
  13. it's cheaper to gut a 7 dollar A2 than a 50 buck jp. I ended up making a light weight one by gutting an A2 and replacing some of the metal spacers with plastic so it weights the same as a JP now
  14. Looked to me like the test went pretty well. Ragged hole in the target with just a tiny bit of pulling at a pretty good pace too. For someone who hasn't shot a gun like that before did very well. Looks like there may be a new open shooter out there next season.
  15. 9mm major as I don't like searching for brass every match and 9mm is much cheaper
  16. They arnt bad but just dont shoot as flat as a 2011 open gun. If you get one go with a frame mounted one like an SJC or carver. The SJC requires mods to the frame but gives you more holster options than the carver
  17. Basically unless it's a different caliber it's a reshoot. If the first holes are from a larger caliber than the second and one is missing then it should be a reshoot as well.
  18. Check with carver about installing the sjc moint
  19. Use the Racemaster here when I shoot limited primarily because I usually shoot open so I keep the same belt for both. For 3 guns, I use a level2 holster
  20. Factory 40 cal ammo is not gonna be great for open as the heavy bullet and fast powder don't have much to Work the comp so it's gonna shoot more like a limited gun than an open gun. Open really is a reloaders game but if your shooting factory only I would just shoot your 3 gun setup at minor as 40 is gonna cost you a lot of rounds and still not shoot like an open gun
  21. have you tried having the timer picking up the shots? A 223 with a supressor isnt too bad for the RO but a 9mm with subsonic may get pretty tough to pick up the last shot on
  22. You run a regular guide rod and spring over the recoil master. Call shooters connection an they can get ya what ya need
  23. The big advantage to the dot is it is it allows them to concentrate more on the trigger pull than anything else. Instead of so I need to put the front sight centered in the rear sight even across the top and look at the front and not the target while trying to pull the trigger smooth vs having the red dot on target and just working on a smooth pull. The red dot also shows your flaws much better than an iron sighted gun does. If you have a poor grip, jerk the trigger etc you can see the dot move accordingly a lot easier than you can iron sights.
  24. because it is to prevent people from taking the procedural and burning it down with no reload. if your trigger speed is faster than your reload speed on a HHF stage you could just skip the reload and come out ahead if it was one total For the one shop per for a significant advantage its kind of on a case by case basis. Shooter has a foot on the fault line and touches the outside with the foot rolling over or is just outside on a shot thats not a big lean shot or something then one total. If he goes outside to take a shot that is not visible from within and say eliminates a shooting position or 2 as a result then something like that would be a significant advantage
